Masaryk University Campus Brno
Architects : A PLUS a.s. Brno, Realization: 2005-2010
Masaryk University Campus is the largest project of its kind in the Czech Republic. The project was set up in 2000 and the construction of the first part of the campus was completed in 2005. Currently the last parts of this imposing high-tech building are near to completion. The detail park and office park form an integral part of the campus which will comprise also sporting, scientific and research facilities as well as residential premises in the near future. The essential design concept for the campus is based on a clear spatial layout connecting science and technology with contemporary architecture. It is an excellent example of successful architectural design for the whole area including transport accessibility taking into consideration the nearby highway. The interiors can boast a wide range of modern materials, among other things several significant corian applications. They include especially counters of help and front desks in individual buildings.
Masaryk University Brno is the premier university in Moravia and the second oldest university in the Czech Republic. Today Masaryk University is a research-oriented institution; it comprises nine faculties with more than 200 departments, institutes and clinics covering a broad range of academic disciplines and fields of research.
Johnny Rivers` REALIZATION from 1968. His voice is what makes his music. Good feelings from hearing him sing his songs. Good songs, good arrangements too. The great one on this album is SUMMER RAIN which was a hit single. A song about the summer of `67 and how "everybody kept on playin` Sgt. Pepper`s Lonely Hearts Club Band". He is mostly known for top 40 hit singles which were always a part of growing up for me and enjoying hearing his songs on the AM radio. They were good songs that were always a pleasure to hear and not one of the ones that made you change the station. This album is not a psychedelic album but Johnny`s way of embracing the psychedelic era. A great original, "Going Back To Big Sur." A few great covers, A Whiter Shade of Pale and Dylan`s Positively 4th Street. Dylan has said in his book "Chronicles: Volume One" that he preferred Johnny Rivers' version of "Positively 4th Street" to his own recording of the song.
I am sure that most people will relate to that ‘Monday Morning Feeling’. The dreaded realization upon waking that it is NOT Saturday or Sunday. It’s not even any other weekday. It’s Monday. The day when you long for that extra half-hour in bed more than on any other day of the week. The day when, due to some meteorological quirk of nature, the weather, more often than not, is depressing. The day when you question your career choice!
I was certainly no different. As an Art teacher for nearly 35 years, I would make my way up the school drive wondering whether some mutated virus may just possibly have incapacitated only the disruptive pupils in the school. In the Winter there was always the possibility that the heating system had broken down and the pupils would be sent home, or the pipes had burst over the weekend. The reality for a Monday was that staff absence would be heavier than normal and, if one had a non-contact period (can’t call them ‘free’ periods any more), looking at the daily ‘cover’ list would see one’s name down to take class 9Z for ‘Life Skills’ or something similar because Miss Binge had a ‘migraine’ or Mr. Skiver had developed the ‘workshy virus’.
By mid-morning break, of course, usually, one’s mood had returned to normal and life really didn’t seem that bad. In order to militate against the likelihood of a mass-suicide pact in the staffroom on a Monday morning, I began to produce a ‘Picture of the Week’ with a caption beneath, for the ‘Cover Noticeboard’. These raised a smile and I was sometimes asked for a copy. I have begun to upload them here for the benefit of anyone who has a similar sense of humour to myself! I will upload the first few and then add to them on a weekly basis.
Feel free to add your own caption.

Before Self realization there was a lot of suffering, quarrels and fights in my house. But now it's all stopped and our neighbours are also surprised by this. Everything has become right after attaining the path of liberation.

This photo is from a series of images that grew out of my connection to nature. To illustrate the discovery and illumination involved with this relationship, I collected and arranged pieces of the environment into mandalas or "maps of the universe". The earth art pieces are intentionally temporal in nature and serve as celebrations of these natural spaces. By photographing myself with in these arrangements my being becomes a part of the piece, highlighting the relationship of nature and the maker.
I wanted to do an actual "Personal work" shot for once so I decided to work off an idea for a short film my friend and I had been planning. It hinges on that moment we encounter growing up in which we began to understand how mechanized our world really is, not in that it is a bad or good thing, but that it is mysterious to us when we are developing, that time in which we try to wrap our heads around such a vast and complex system is quite a pivotal moment that is often dismissed, despite the impact it has on our livelihood.

My first tattoo I got when my husband and I split up to find our selves. That was my issue I lost who I was. I was no longer a strong independant woman. I was this navy wife that sat at home and waited for her sailor to come home. Whe the navy was out of our lives I didnt know how to be...
This is my solar plexus, it represents Self-Esteem, Self-Confidence, Self-Respect, Strong Will, Empowered drive. All the things I need to remember to keep burning strong.
Happily married for going on three years thanks to this self realization

Project: Since 1779, The Piece Hall has stood proudly at the heart of Halifax. Originally built to support the trading of ‘pieces’ of cloth, it has been a meeting point of Halifax’s commercial, civic and cultural life for almost 250 years. In an ambitious and exciting new chapter, The Piece Hall has been reimagined as a new cultural and commercial centre. The Piece Hall has recently undergone a £19 million conservation and transformation programme.

Design statement:
Plot:
“The adventures of Master Gnom” is an adapted for stage classical Finish fairytale. The action takes place in a magic northern forest inhabited by gnomes, witches and fairies.
Challenge:
This production was my debut as a costume designer in an actual production. And it was for audience that is mostly younger then 6 years old. So, i had to combine the ageless world of fairytales and contemporary elements that would be recognizable to children’s audience.
IDEA & REALIZATION:
This brought me to seeking for very clear psychological images - evil, funny, noble or silly. For that I used a basis of Finish folk costume - aprons, wide straight cut skirts, shirts with traditional offset clasp on the neck, simple village style shoes.
At the same time I’ve created an image that is close to today through materials- varnished leather, shiny organza material that reminds snow, wool cloth that is used on contemporary jackets.
United by the main snowy fabric for dress and shirts for men, the good and the bad were divided through color (dark blue and green for witches and magicians, pink for gnomes, fairies and the princess)

The culmination and the realization closest to perfection turned out to be villa Savoye, which today is regarded as the architect masterpiece. It is the first villa which lifted the whole volume to the air. Moreover, although the atmosphere inside may seem cold, it is a type of ‘mathematical lyricism’ that Le Corbusier sought, which he could only acheive through total use of the Five Points of Modern Architecture.
Estimates of the cost in February 1929 were approximately half a million Francs, although this excluded the cost of the lodge and the landscaping elements (almost twice the original budget). The project was tendered in February with contracts awarded in March 1929. Changes made to the design whilst the project was being built including an amendment to the storey height and the exclusion and then re-introduction of the chauffeur's accommodation led to the costs rising to approximately 800,000 Francs. At the time the project started on site no design work had been done on the lodge and the final design was only presented to the client in June 1929. The design was for a double lodge but this was reduced to a single lodge as the costs were too high. Although construction of the whole house was complete within a year it was not habitable until 1931.
Two realizations with this shot. 1) I wish I took video of this rather than shoot it. Her performance in particular was one of the best I've ever heard. So much more emotional and powerful! 2) If I did end up wanting to shoot this scene, I have GOT to get a 70-200mm lens. This final proof is cropped WAAAY in.
We finished up our tour of Albuquerque with several realizations.
1) Cooking in bad weather is hard. We are so grateful for Whole Foods hot food salad bars.
2) We need to further pair down our stuff to make accessibility more convenient. The big containers are particularly difficult.
3) We need more structure. It has been difficult to get any significant exercise in. At home I took for granted his easy it is to wake up and run. Now with dog walks and coffee shops it has been difficult to get in a trail even when I wake up right by the trailhead.
1- Self- Discovery
Self- discovery will be plaintive the first time as you can able to invent things about yourself for whom you are stipulate to your way of stable increased without prejudice.
2- Self -consciousness
It is the most important accidence in this procedure as it is the ingredients that run emphatically and concurrently. Simply without self-consciousness, you have nothing. Self-awareness taps into the psyche.
3- Self- empowerment
Without a self- empowerment person’s just puppet, an unusable dangler being controlled physically, emotionally and spiritually by any other process. Without this law, you are simply feeding for another.
