The tiler couldn't make it yesterday so apart from the sink being plumbed in no further progress. However everything is safely tucked away in the cupboards and drawers now.

The defence ministers of the G7 were in Napoli on 19-20-21 October for a summit which took place in this palace! The next day it was open again for visit so I went for a visit on the 22nd in the afternoon.
Around the same time last year, I visited the Palazzo Reale di Torino and was very impressed so I had high expectations for this one and it did not disappoint.
A group of kindergarteners also toured the palace. They had a nun as teacher. They were pretty funny and had lots of fun together.

El tímpano se divide en dos niveles. En el nivel inferior distribuido en cuatro encasamentos cerrados con arcos tribulados iguales dos a dos se representan secuencias del mismo tema, comenzando con la despedida de los Reyes Magos de Herodes hasta la llegada al Portal de Belén.
En el nivel superior, en simetría con el marco arquitectónico, se presenta una escena: Cristo juez sentado en su trono y sobre él dos ángeles sostienen una corona. La figura está flanqueada por dos ángeles que portaban los símbolos de la Pasión hoy desaparecidos y de rodillas las figuras de la Virgen y San Juan.
Cuatro arquivoltas cobijan el tímpano: la primera arranca de dos cabezas de león y presenta una serie de figurillas de las que algunas sostienen libros. La segunda arquivolta que arranca de dos cabezas humanas, una de horrible expresión y otra serena, se dedica a los músicos con distintos instrumentos. La tercera tiene decoración vegetal y la cuarta vides y pájaros picoteando los racimos.
La puerta se resuelve en arco rebajado rehecho en 1751 y que debió contar con parteluz en medio. A ambos lados de la puerta se labraron dos galerías de arcos ciegos.
Todo el conjunto va protegido por un pórtico volteado con bóveda de crucería gótica con nervios cruceros terceletes y ligaduras que descargan sobre ménsulas lisas datada en tiempos de los Reyes Católicos.

No hdr, just one raw shot. Processing involved a little pushing of the shadows in the raw converter, a small increase of the overall saturation, noise recuction, a new crop - that's it.
