'Portobello ReCollection' is the fourth commission of the Portobello Road Arts Project. This artwork transforms the 100-metre long wall at the northern end of Portobello Road into W11's own private record collection - a giant shelf of records representing the defining songs of Notting Hill, as identified through collaboration with DJs, musicians, record labels, stall holders and local historians.

From a perfectly nice image I've manipulated this vision. Is it like painting flames on a 1975 Ford Grenada?

Ispired by my mother's song who is in the hospital for Alzheimer.

She was singing a song she leaned when was very young.

"뜸북 뜸북-뜸북새

Crake, Crake, the bird of crake

논에서 울고

Crying on the rice-field

뻐국 뻐국- 뻐국새

Cuckoo, cuckoo, the bird of cuckoo

Cuckooed in the forest

숲에서 울 제-

우리 오빠 말 타고 서울 가시면

I was told a pair of shiny shoes

When my big-brogher left on horse-back to Seoul

비단 구두 사 가지고

오신다 더니-

기럭 기럭- 기러기...

geese, geese, those geese

북에서 오고

coming from the north

귀뚤 귀뚤- 귀뚜라미

Cricket, cricket, crickets

슬피 울건만...

Though they cry in sadness

서울 가신 오빠는 소식도 없고

I don’t hear no news from my big-brother

나뭇잎만 우수수...

떨어 집니다

But I just see those falling leaves of tree

Exiled on earth as we are, unless we are able to content ourselves with that shadow of Paradise that is Virgin Nature, we must create for ourselves surroundings which, by their truth and their beauty recall our heavenly origin and thereby also awaken our hope.

Greyfriars Kirkyard & Edinburgh Castle

Greyfriars Kirkyard is the graveyard surrounding Greyfriars Kirk in Edinburgh, Scotland, and is in the hands of a separate trust from the church. For many people, the graveyard is associated primarily with Greyfriars Bobby, the loyal dog who guarded his master's grave. Though Bobby's headstone is at the entrance to the Kirkyard, he is actually buried at a grassy verge by a wall nearby, as the Kirk authorities would not allow his burial on consecrated ground.

The Greyfriars Cemetery is reputedly haunted. One such haunt is attributed to the restless spirit of the infamous 'Bloody' George Mackenzie buried there in 1691. The 'Mackenzie Poltergeist' is said to cause bruising, bites and cuts on those who come into contact with it and many visitors have reported feeling strange sensations. Particularly, visitors who take the City of the Dead ghost tour, which has access to the Covenanters' Prison, have indeed emerged with injuries they have no recollection of sustaining. Even more interestingly, a number of deaths have taken place in the Kirkyard itself. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greyfriars_Kirkyard

My work at Uppercase # 18

1911 postmarked postcard view of the Onion Carnival in Nappanee, Indiana. A large crowd has gathered and a few automobiles can be seen in the view. The apparatus in the middle of the street appears to be for an acrobatics show. There are many flags on display and possibly a stage in the foreground.

At the left edge of the photograph is an awning with "5 & 10" printed on it. Just beyond that is an awning that appears to have BLOSSER and SHOES printed on the awning. And, just beyond that awning is a sign that says simply AUTOMOBILES. In the street is a cart with an advertising umbrella that clearly reads SPIRO. Below that name, the advertising appears to include ONE PRICE CLOTHIERS. There was a clothing merchant in South Bend by the name of Samual Spiro who advertised with the "One Price" slogan. In fact, there is a South Bend postcard from this era showing a similar Spiro advertising unbrella on a wagon.

Behind the Spiro cart is a CHICKEN PIE DINNER stand.

On the other side of the street are a hardware store and the Christian H. Dietrich business block that was apparently built in 1900.

From a private collection.

Porcelain, wood, graphite, mixed ceramic materials

Humans are complex, imaginative, and explorative beings. We are investigators, travelers, builders, and lovers. We create and destroy—build and tear down—come together and fall apart. We are thinkers and doers; determined to locate our exact physical and philosophical place within the universe. I am interested in the dichotomy between investigation and imagination, the physical world and the imaginary world, the effects of time, and how these concepts and places converge within the spectrum of visual art. I use experimental casting and burnout techniques to create three dimensional ceramic paintings in the forms of towers, walls, orbs, and tiles. Combustibles, ceramic materials, and liquid clay are arranged inside plaster molds. The kiln firing process alters the materials, creating jagged void spaces, shimmering colors, and unique textures. These sculptures symbolize our evolution, our complexity, our history, and investigate hidden emotions and thoughts within.

this was after the reunion part, after the many drinks, after the dancing, after the laughing until my sides hurt. there was more party going on, but i had to get to bed because i had to work today.

this is my picture october 10, 2010

This was meant to be the scene from Wall-E in which Wall-E and Eve are dancing together. Turns out I don't remember anything about it except that they were dancing together. Eve is not shaped like that.
