This is an observation on change and the rapid unexpected speed with which it can happen (think parallels with people)

I take lots of street pics (no people) but for #4 needed to revisit some places in June...however, I was shocked to be too late for some houses and numerous more sporting development notices

I have no nostalgia having no roots here but am troubled that the missing houses were so ordinary I had no recollection of what they looked like.

SO..take pictures of the ordinary all the time, whether places or people to be able to remember them in case of sudden departure.

(This also allows anyone delving into your hard drive to see your world at your own departure)

just some people. pictures are better that have people.

Recollections of domestic life. School girls learn to can fruits and vegetables, Vanderburg County, Indiana. The lower drawers in the table are bins for sugar and flour.

A long, long time ago, when Tyrannosaurus Rex were around I was doing this sort of thing in my dark room in a cave, using 6x6 ( sometimes 35mm ) B&W films. In those days they called this kind of picture a "sandwich photograph' ( it is also called 'sandwich printing' or 'negative sandwiching' ) . This is a technique made by combing two ( or more ) negatives into the film carrier of the enlarger and printing on one sheet of photographic paper as one image. It wouldn't be so hard to get the similar effect if you used tools like 'Photoshop' these days but it was quite a challenging technique back then.

Loved making this simple card using Paper Smooches stamps, Recollections patterned paper, and Tim Holtz Distress markers.

The baths were the last station of the admission procedure. This is where newly arrived prisoners had their heads shaved, were disinfected, showered and then sent to the barracks dressed in their prisoner clothing. Those already imprisoned came here once a week at the beginning - later less frequently - to "bathe," a procedure that according to the recollection of many survivors often involved harassment. At the same time though, many also tell of the relief at being able to finally wash themselves with a piece of soap or to feel briefly the luxury of warm water after the frequently long transports or weeks of imprisonment.

1913 postmarked postcard view of several people (possibly owners and employees?) posing for the photographer at the Orland Creamery in Steuben County, Indiana. There are two horse-drawn wagons in the view and a bicycle leaning against the building in the background. A few milk cans are sitting on the dock in the background.
