Rothko inspired Sunset !

For Macro Monday’s "Strictly Textures"

This is some yarn my daughter is weaving into a friendship bracelet on a very small loom. It reminds me a little of some Rothko art.

*I have managed two weeks in a row posting to Macro Mondays =D This is one of my favorite groups but somehow I had managed to keep forgetting to take and post a photo so I am happy to be back on a roll {if only two weeks}

With these two shots I was consciously trying to see the landscape how Rothko might have seen it. They are not cropped.

This reminds me of a Mark Rothko painting.

Based on a suggestion in a comment on the original, this is that photo rotated counterclockwise by 90 degrees

This made the Explore / Interestingness top 500 for a day. Best position was 119.

Ik was hier samen met Gisella en Dirk

Voor alle duidelijkheid: deze man met paardenstaart is niet Mark Rothko. Die is in 1970 overleden.

Sunset approximately over Poland, seen from an airplane. Reminded me of a painting by Rothko...

mark rothko (1903-1970) protagonista dell'espressionismo astratto americano, e in particolare dell'esperienza detta "color field".

On the back side of a dumped refrigerator slowly being swallowed by the diamond-dusted yellow sand, was a thin strip of metal which covered the electrical cord. The plate had been oxidizing over who knows how many years in the dry sunlight. It really reminded me of the classic painting of abstract painter Mark Rothko. The only manipulation was increasing the contrast and saturation.

sat in this spot for quite awhile. These are some of the nicest Rothko's I've seen.
