Sometimes nature mirrors art. The subdued dawn light and colour here suggests something like a late Mark Rothko (1903-1970).

According to the referenced wheel, complimentary blue-violet(-ish) v. orange-yellow and complimentary dark-red-light-green are paired here. But I think the purple & gold are also complementary.
The two blocks of subtly varying color against a harmonic background remind me of Rothko.

Always a great Moment to take Photos in this Station (Westfriedhof) of the Munich Subway. Shot with Sony A7 Mii and the Zeiss Batis 1.8/85mm at F=1.8! Focus on Metal Bar in Front!!
Enjoy!
So this started out simple enough. Marybeth was to sit looking at Rothko's art and I take the picture. After taking a shot, a man comes over and asks if he can be in the shot too. We start talking and of course he can be in the shot. Then a lady comes up to me and, "...of course!" I thought the result was pretty cool and here it is. I suspect that a much grander project could have been undertaken, given the level of fun that went into this...maybe on my next visit. I also hope that at some point I can give credit to my new friends. I do enjoy seeing Rothko's work at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. and we had fun making this shot!
This Northern Shoveler (female) was spotted on the Harlem Meer, well in front of a construction site for a major restoration project. Initially I was unhappy about the background until I realized that if I cropped the photo vertically, the image recalled the artwork of the famous painter Mark Rothko... How fitting for a city with so many world class museums! At least some consolation for the state of things, that make birding in the North part of Central Park challenging this year!
