The rosemary beetle originally comes from the Mediterranean region. This pest beetle has recently been spreading in Germany, unfortunately also in my garden. Sure, they're beautiful, but deadly to aromatic herbs like rosemary, lavender, sage, and thyme.

Happy Wing Wednesday!

European Honey Bee (Apis mellifera)

Rosemary Flower (Salvia rosmarinus)

This bee was busy working on a cold day.

Finally, the weather conditions allowed many bees to appear.

I managed ten glorious minutes in our herb garden at work today, catching some much needed sunshine. I had never really stopped to notice the subtle and delicate shades of green on this rosemary plant before. A lunchbreak well spent!

have a wonderful weekend, my friends

Then, you sketched the trees

And a path underneath for those who leave

And I am a lover, and a friend to you

A part of your palette, a shade of blue

Wearing rosemary has become a traditional symbol of remembrance and commemoration in Australia.

On special days of commemoration, such as Anzac Day and Remembrance Day, Australians often wear a small sprig of rosemary. Usually, it's pinned onto a coat lapel, near to the heart, or held in place by medals.

Rosemary grows wild on the Gallipoli peninsula in Türkiye, where many Australians served in World War I. In the 1980s, cuttings of plants from Gallipoli were planted in nurseries throughout Australia to support Avenues of Honour.

Studies have shown that the carnosic and rosmarinic acids in rosemary have powerful antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. Consuming rosemary regularly can potentially help lower the risk of infection and help the immune system fight any infections that do occur.

Well a clone of a sprig of rosemary to be more precise.

Salvia rosmarinus, commonly known as rosemary, is a shrub with fragrant, evergreen, needle-like leaves and white, pink, purple, or blue flowers, native to the Mediterranean region. Until 2017, it was known by the scientific name Rosmarinus officinalis, now a synonym. It is a member of the mint family Lamiaceae, which includes many other medicinal and culinary herbs. The name rosemary derives from Latin ros marinus (dew of the sea). The plant is also sometimes called anthos, from the ancient Greek word ἄνθος, meaning flower;. Rosemary has a fibrous root system. Rosemary is an aromatic evergreen shrub with leaves similar to hemlock needles. It is native to the Mediterranean and Asia, but is reasonably hardy in cool climates. It can withstand droughts, surviving a severe lack of water for lengthy periods. In some parts of the world, it is considered a potentially invasive species. The seeds are often difficult to start, with a low germination rate and relatively slow growth, but the plant can live as long as 30 years. 43524

Rosemary is a rich source of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, which are thought to help boost the immune system and improve blood circulation. Rosemary is considered a cognitive stimulant and can help improve memory performance and quality. It is also known to boost alertness, intelligence, and focus.

The whole bush is currently covered with these tiny swelling buds.
