My Mother's Relatives -

The pelicans flying around the rock help give the rock and ocean perspective. The combination of grandeur and intimacy in this picture is, I think, what captivates.

A really enjoyable gig, Roise Taylor as support then Camera Obscura.

However I just couldn't get a decent pic, mainly as the lighting was really upfront and personal to the stage. Any pics taken behind the lighting was screwed. A real shame.

My recreations of Donald Zolan and Esra Roise's work painted in my sketchbook ~ Over the summer our brief was 'Visual Stories', and I've decided to focus on the story of going from young to old. The first artists I looked at are Donald Zolan and Esra Roise, because these artists are very different and it gives me an idea of what media I wanted to use. As I prefer all this work, I will continue to experiment with different artists.

It is always interesting to look at certain artists more in depth,to find out more about them as an individual and what really inspires them to do what they do. Therefore, here as part of another critical study I have looked more in depth at a particular piece of Esra Roise's work, focusing on content, form, process and overall mood of the piece. Here I have done a copy of one of her pieces using bright watercolour and pencil tone to add attitude to the illustration as a whole. This is a A2 size all together.
