The snow got pretty thick while I was walking around Capitol Hill, so I took some shots of people playing soccer in the park.

it's rip city again now that basketball has started off so i opted to celebrate halloween this year with a little blazer love. hope everyone has a fun and safe evening!
This is the only picture I have of my bike... I should say "my former bike". May she rest in peace.
Tonight, someone took it.
I live not far from downtown, so on summer nights, it's the right way to go somewhere. So, she got me downtown, and I locked her in a prominent place, in a heavily travelled spot, right in front of the door to a restaurant.
When I came out... she was gone. The indignity of a cut cable lock was left behind.
I loved that bike. She's been with me since 1996, purchased in Portland Oregon.
I'm not sure how to deal with this... I've had three things dear to me STOLEN in the last month. I'm comforted by the superstition that bad shit happens in threes, so I'm due for a break. But the nagging feeling that the homeless community in downtown has a little business in stolen things has me questioning my generosity and my faith.
Candidly, I'm pissed.
Another lemon vehicle to bite the dust is the VW Caddy van. With a brand new MOT just being put on last month the van died a few days later! Gutted! On Sunday evening took the Sprinter up to Lewes to clear out the back of the Caddy.
However last night the company bought a new vehicle. And its not a replacement van or another bus....... watch this space.....
Artist Statement
My name is Elizabeth Madison. I am a sophomore and I’m taking digital photography. I love photography and I have no idea why its just fun to capture moments in a frame I guess. This was our final project in digital photography; we took a scene from the book we read and captured it in a picture. I read Dreamland it is a story about a girl named Caitlin who just turned sixteen and her sister runs away. She has always lived in her sister’s shadow now she’s trying to do things her sister wouldn’t. She joins the cheer squad; on her way to a party she meets Rogerson, a boy who’s unlike anyone else she knows. She leaves her world of cheer and normality, which she is used to, and begins a journey she won’t ever forget. With her now abusive boyfriend and the usage of drugs she starts to loose herself. She takes a photography class with her mother and neighbor, during the class there is a self portrait assignment. Caitlin takes a picture in the mirror. After her parents finding out about the abuse and the drugs Caitlin is sent to a rehab center where she rips the self portrait. As she progresses she starts to tae the picture back together kind of taping her life back together, this is what I portrayed the ripped picture put back together.
I tried to do a lot of different things for this project but nothing really worked, until I thought of this. To take a picture of myself in the mirror, print it, rip it up, and tape it back together. I think it shows that everyone is torn about something but you can always put yourself back together. I wanted to do something simple, just one simple picture so when I ripped it, it would be simple but not really. I tried to look lost and confused, because at the time of the picture (in the book) Caitlin was. In the book while dating Rogerson, Caitlin had to wear long sleeves and pants because of the bruises he left on her skin from the many hits. In this picture I’m wearing a sweatshirt and pants, not much of my skin is showing. I tried making it as much like in the book as I could. This was an amazing book and I hope I did it justice with this picture.
