A Man's Best Friend

Author Unknown

A faithful dog will play with you

And laugh with you and cry...

He'll gladly starve to stay with you

Nor ever a reason why...

And when you're feeling out of sorts

Somehow he'll understand

He'll watch you with his shining eyes

And try to lick your hand.

His blind implicit faith in you

Is matched by your great love

The kind that all of us should have

In the Master up above.

When everything is said and done,

I guess this isn't odd,

For when you spell dog backward,

You will get the name of God.

'RICH' - 'STAVELEY HALL 1940s EVENT' - 1st-2nd MAY 2022

Nothing like a fresh cup of beans!

Recording Images - COMMERCIAL/TABLETOP IMAGE .....

Not much photographing going on recently. Although I did photoshop my face on some eggs... Anyway! I've also been comissioned by my school to take photos of students and I will have several wildlife prints displayed in one of the school buildings. And I might be organising a photography club.

I have another article up. This ones on the 'invasion' of Parakeets.

Felt so rich today. Just by looking outside and seeing a lot of beautiful butterflies on just one plant.

2 of these Polygonia c-album (above), and four Atalanta's (below) and some Pieris brassicae's. All at one time.

Have a good week.

Voelde me rijk vandaag. Keek uit mijn keukenraam en zag steeds een boel mooie vlinders steeds maar van 1 plant snoepen. Twee gehakkelde aurelia's en vier atalanta's en wat koolwitjes. Allemaal kleurrijk tegelijk.

Fijne week gewenst.

Love the connection between flora and fauna, highlighted by the veins running through the wings of this leaf-cutter bee and the petals of the cranesbill it's feeding on.

13th September 1934AD, Peregrinium, Northumbria. Archaeologists excavate a mosaic floor in a villa near the Roman fort Peregrinium.

Excavations of the site had started in 1930's AD and a few mosaics had been found, but not many outside of the fort. The presence of the fort and the vicus along Hadrians Wall remain clear since the wall was abandoned by the Romans. The area that had been the fort had not been used for agriculture since in had been abandoned keeping the ruins in better preservation than those in the vicus and local villas. The finding of the mosaic in the villa therefore brought great joy to the archaeologists despite the damage caused by villa plowing.

Yes, like my other mosaic this also isn't real history. The mosaic represented here is based on a minifig scale mosaic by Workshysteve in a villa he his building, which is part of a collaborative by Brick to the Past. We will be bringing back to life a imagined fort and the surrounding area including farms (Roman and Celtic) a Celtic village, barrows, graveyards, bath houses and a full working Roman fort -representing the rich history and architecture along Rome's northern frontier. Our display will be at STEAM 3rd and 4th October 2015.

During the first few hours of the mission, astronaut Michael R. (Rich) Clifford checks over stowed bags filled Extravehicular Activity (EVA) supplies in the STS-76 tunnel. The mission specialist, one of six NASA astronauts aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis, later helped move the bags to Atlantis' airlock. Atlantis later docked with Russia's Mir Space Station. The crew used a tunnel to commute to the Spacehab module and, later, to the Mir via its Docking Module (DM).

There are people who 'talk' to the flowers and plants? Me, I just 'listen' to them, I open the wrapping, they fall open on the table and tell me. It is so clear what that one was saying: ppppffft, sigh... oh dear... Shout or sing... So rich in tones!

What a few petals can tell me? LOL

With love to you and thank you for ALL your likes and comments, M, (* _ *)

A walk around the local Anglican / Episcopalian church yard was a walk of discovery...! Spring colours were bursting out all over the place.

In this instance, a "Rhododendron arboreum" (better known as a Tree Rhododendron) was ablaze with rich red flowers...! It's "...an evergreen shrub or small tree with a showy display of bright red flowers. It is found in Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Thailand (and in New Zealand!). It is the national flower of Nepal. In India it is the state tree of Uttarakhand and state flower of Nagaland as well as the provincial flower of Central Province in Sri Lanka..." ***

First light: Einstein light @ 1/128 with 8.5" reflector, camera left ~10ft.

Second light: white LED

When taking this photo, I wasn't sure if the LED counted against the 2 light maximum, so only one flash was used. Rich drew the diagram using the LED in complete darkness, then I manually fired the flash at the end.

We don't often get colorful sunsets here, but due to the afternoon thunderstorms the colors have been out of this world lately. Isn't it exquisite?!
