47776 'Respected' is captured at Hunt's Lock, along the Weaver navigation at Northwich working 5K44 Manchester Piccadilly - Crewe empty coaching stock which, instead of working direct to Crewe took a round about route via the Mid Cheshire line and reversal at Chester. I can only think to maintain driver route knowledge?
Tug 'Clifton', operated by KD Marine UK and was working on the river with hopper barges Halton & Sutton. One of which can just about be seen in the big lock behind.
A few days ago, on the flickr universe, I had the misfortune to see some pictures really disrespectful towards a little animal ...
If you really can not love them, would be enough a bit of RESPECT!... Idiot!

Late evening on hot and humid August evening in Nebraska. Warnings popped up about an hour before this storm was even visible to the eye over the horizon at sunset.
Spectacular Colors emitting from this stacked supercell. Cloud to Cloud Lightning shooting off every few seconds made this a storm chasers dreamscape.
Gear in hand that evening I traveled north out of Odessa Nebraska. Now about 2 miles to the east of Amherst Nebraska. This storm was strengthening and moving almost due south, southeast, meaning it was coming right at my location.
It would be a Historic Event to capture! Now remastered to the original color with no enhancements. Enjoy!

The previous train did not only come from the wrong side with respect to the position of the sun, but also in terms of the landscape. In this direction, the Kaimai Range offers a nice backdrop, with this train having just emerged from the eponymous tunnel behind DL 9481. Wardville, 06-10-2023.

Two drakes and a female cinnamon teal at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge. The second female swam out of the frame. These birds will migrate north to breed in late March or early April. Although they are quite common winter birds in this area, I've never identified them before.
The Cinnamon Teal is the only duck with separate breeding populations in North and South America.
The female Cinnamon Teal often places her nest below matted, dead stems of vegetation so it is completely concealed on all sides and from above. She approaches the nest through tunnels in the vegetation.

There is a point south of Point Lobos on the Big Sur coastline where waves build offshore and come crashing in. That is not unusual. What is somewhat unique is that the waves continue up a shelf and then all that was collected, flows back out to the ocean. I've seen this three times, and was fortunately enough to be there on a day when the surf was particularly high, and I caught this outflow as it came roaring back.
In 2012, I saw two ... not-too-intelligent humans trying to make their way down to the base. Fortunately for them, their IQs reached equilibrium (zero plus one) and they scampered back up. You cannot imagine the force of this water and the eddies that form around the base rocks. It is beyond beautiful but must always be treated with respect.
This shot was taken while I was up a cliff about 500 feet. The Pacific coast's beauty is unparalleled along this 100 mile stretch.

We were having lunch in a well respected Vicksburg restaurant when a rather unruly customer took a seat near us. We quietly discussed whether he was intoxicated, a bit short of a full deck or simply deaf. The customer settled down and we went back to our lunch. Shortly afterwards, I noted that a police officer had arrived and was talking to several employees around the corner. I also took note that the previously unruly customer was between myself and the long arm of the law.
Not wanting to be on the wrong end of a misfired Taser or even worse, a 40S&W, I decided to meet Johnny Law. That's when I introduced myself to Officer Joseph Stubbs.
Officer Stubbs explained the patron was well known to him, and simply hard of hearing and a little "touched." That's a Southern euphemism for blessed in a way that others are not. At any rate, Officer Stubbs was there simply to visit the girlfriend of his best friend, our waitress.
I learned that Joseph had grown up in Vicksburg and knew the area and it's history well. He patrolled the historic district and provides both the duties of a peace officer and a tour guide. He told us of several unusual hauntings, and out of the beaten path excursions to try some time. He also gave me unfailing directions to Margaret's Grocery.
I asked him to be a part of 100 Strangers, knowing that our meeting would make a good story. I photographed him inside the restaurant, next to where the noon sun filtered through the antique windows. I almost did not write down his name, knowing that it was on his name badge. Thankfully, however, I did make a note of it, because the sun obliterated it in the photograph.

Stephen Michael Watson(1958 - 2012) , born in New Brunswich, worked tirelessly to teach respect and compassion for all living beings on this planet. Through his involvement with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, Stephen tried to teach and inspire people to reduce their carbon footprint and treat mother earth with love and respect.

Taken with Samsung galaxy 7 edge cellphone. Do not have a camera quite yet but will purchase one soon thinking about the Cannon Sx 720 or 730 Powershot I like Macro for me to be a beginner.
I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but things have been a little "different" lately, right? Even my friends on the street have noticed.
Not all of them get minute by minute news updates like many people do. Nor do all of them understand the extent of what is happening. But it is affecting their lives too. There used to be plenty of traffic for Hillbilly to panhandle in. Now some mornings the neighborhood is like a ghost town. Many of the friendly businesses, pallet yards, recycling places, etc... are closed. No segment of the population seems to be unaffected.
But as I drop food, clothes, etc... off in the mornings (or tonight for Levita, Vera, and Squirrel), there is a level of respect. A hug or handshake has been replaced with a virtual elbow bump. Food gets handed out and I distance myself, and they understand my concerns. Nobody gets offended when I say "Sorry, I can't take ANY chances."
I'm not sure if they observe these new social rules amongst themselves, but I appreciate the fact that understand me.

Just recently, a day hiker lost his footing above Sol Duc Falls and tumbled over two spillways. He is extremely lucky to have survived. As you can see in my photograph the water is a torrent of action as it cuts through this narrow passageway.
