Late July 2023...

This month of storms was just down right jaw dropping. Why not continue since we didn't have any storms in May or June! Overtime for July is the way I like it!

90% of the time of year in South Central Nebraska is Hot & Humid. It is normally the beginning of our dry season. But not in 2023.

In the path of the Jet Stream that day that forced some severe thunderstorm development over south central Nebraska. We were not excepting anything super severe but a tornado or 2 is always possible this time of year.

Gear Primed & excited about the views I'm going to get for this event that day. I knew they were going to be photogenic.

The cost for the fight for freedom has no price tag...And freedom comes with the privilege of responsibility, towards wise stewardship of our countries.

To our soldiers, we owe everything, for without them what would we have?

Thank you for your sacrifices in the past, and today

Much honour and respect to each of you.

Professor Lyra Everbane was born on a crisp February morning in 1999, in the enchanting wizarding village of Mould-on-the-Wold. The Everbane family, though not wealthy, was well-respected for their scholarly pursuits, particularly in magical folklore. Her mother, Moira, was a noted magical historian, while her father, Declan, was a wandmaker who specialized in rare woods. From an early age, Lyra was captivated by the legends her mother would recount by the hearth, tales of ancient heroes, magical beasts, and forgotten civilizations.

When she arrived at Hogwarts in 2010, Lyra was sorted into Hufflepuff, a choice that delighted her family. She embodied the house’s values of dedication, patience, and loyalty, often becoming the peacemaker among her classmates. Her warmth and kindness made her a favorite among her peers, while her determined work ethic ensured her success in her studies.

Lyra excelled particularly in History of Magic, Care of Magical Creatures, and Herbology. She was captivated by how myths connected to magical creatures and the natural world. She spent much of her time in the Hogwarts greenhouses or on the grounds, seeking inspiration from nature and befriending the resident creatures. Her fascination with magical folklore deepened under the mentorship of Professor Sprout and later Professor Firenze, who encouraged her to view mythology as more than mere stories—tools of wisdom and prophecy.

After graduating in 2017, Lyra embarked on a journey across the wizarding world. She spent time with Veela in Eastern Europe, learned from centaurs in the Forbidden Forest, and even gained the trust of the reclusive Merfolk communities in Greece. These experiences expanded her understanding of myth as a bridge between cultures and magical practices.

Her travels earned her respect in academic circles, but Lyra always remained grounded, refusing to let accolades overshadow her desire to teach. She returned to Hogwarts in 2029 to become the Professor of Mythological Studies, determined to pass on her knowledge to future generations.

As a professor, Lyra's Hufflepuff traits shone through. Her classroom became a haven for all students, a place where they felt valued and encouraged. She filled her lessons with interactive experiences, bringing myths to life with illusions, enchanted relics, and the occasional magical creature. Her ability to make every student feel seen and supported made her a beloved member of the Hogwarts staff.

While her sunny demeanor endeared her to many, Lyra carried an air of quiet mystery. Rumors swirled among students about the source of her knowledge of Thestrals, and some speculated that her compassion stemmed from personal loss. Despite this, she remained a constant source of hope and wisdom, always reminding her students that even the darkest myths often held lessons of resilience and light.

Today, Professor Everbane continues to inspire young witches and wizards, weaving together the wisdom of the past and the promise of the future in her teachings. Her loyalty to her students, her love of magical lore, and her steadfast determination ensure that her legacy will endure at Hogwarts for years to come.

Pourquoi ?

Avez-vous oublié ce qui s'est passé

au Canada ?

Listen me my friend,

all our friends that one day you hear

and you need to fully understand

that you must listen and with her learn

yes and remember that autonomy of choice is a right

sacred without discussing the why !

as the right that also belongs to your sister,

the same right as your girlfriend,

yes or your mother's rights!

how each of your rights !

then my friend,

remember the rights too

of all women

not only of those

of whom you love so much !

just love them and respect them !

no matter why !

please don't forget this !

It is with great sadness that we perceive the facts, according to the police of Canada, caused by the young men, that the men, who call themselves Incels, involuntary celibates, giving outlet to their sexual and social frustration by the aggression to people, especially women.

Buddha and Jung said the same wisdom: "Thought creates deed, deed builds habit, habit builds character, and character builds destiny"

And what constructs thought ?

What builds our thought are our neurons, neurotransmission, endophenotype, molecular genetics.

Neural networks summing up a lot, serotonergic neural network improves emotional intelligence, dopaminergic network improves logical intelligence. Both work together, simultaneously at all times. The dominance of the serotonergic network generates empathy, the dominance of logical intelligence, disregarding emotional intelligence, generates mental patterns and strategies, attachment to power and the ability to attack.

Intrauterine exposure of the nascent neural network of the fetus to the testosterone molecule promotes the construction of dopaminergic networks. Yes, men have more mental abilities in mathematics.

This has already been the subject of a famous controversy at Havard University.

What about empathy ?

It's a lack of empathy !

Maybe the expression of the serotonergic network was missing !

Will we encourage our children, boys and girls,

to activate the attitude of empathy from the start ?

Stimulate the action of the serotoninergic network ?

Or we will stimulate in them the extreme competitiveness

and the strategies for defeating the "opponents" ?

Stimulate the action of the dopaminergic network ?

So, will our daughters, in particular, also grow up asking their doctors in the future

to prescribe them testosterone gel

to put on the skin ?

What about empathy ?

What about the serotonergic network ?

And the right of the neighbour ?

Yes, the right of the neighbour !

Why am I saying this ? Why ?

Have you forgotten what happened

in Canada ?

I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but things have been a little "different" lately, right? Even my friends on the street have noticed.

Not all of them get minute by minute news updates like many people do. Nor do all of them understand the extent of what is happening. But it is affecting their lives too. There used to be plenty of traffic for Hillbilly to panhandle in. Now some mornings the neighborhood is like a ghost town. Many of the friendly businesses, pallet yards, recycling places, etc... are closed. No segment of the population seems to be unaffected.

But as I drop food, clothes, etc... off in the mornings (or tonight for Levita, Vera, and Squirrel), there is a level of respect. A hug or handshake has been replaced with a virtual elbow bump. Food gets handed out and I distance myself, and they understand my concerns. Nobody gets offended when I say "Sorry, I can't take ANY chances."

I'm not sure if they observe these new social rules amongst themselves, but I appreciate the fact that understand me.

yes there are still a lot that believe in lucky charms or amulets which are no different from horoscopes, zodiacs, feng shui or even religion for that matter . i guess, the bottomline is we just respect their beliefs as long as they keep it personal does not interefere with others

‘All I'm askin'

In York we now have some social distancing signs. I rather like the thoughtful message: ‘Share with Care’.

I’m happy to mention that the couple in the picture did go single file as soon as they saw someone approaching.

As a funny aside, a couple patiently waited to the left until I got my picture, there are some very kind and thoughtful people around, not that I would have minded in the least including them!

Overall, I’d say that about 80% of people in York are being very courteous, others less so. I’m always happy to make way! How are others finding things?
