In some musea the building itself is more then worth visiting, even if the exhibition isn't.

When looking up on this sunny Bilbao day, one sees this spectacular game of light and shades.

Those were the first words spoken by the gracious woman allowing me into the large aviary, a sanctuary for birds no longer able to live with their owners.

During a visit to Parrots in Paradise I was filled with excitement and a bit of dread once I heard the warning.

Being encouraged to move closer...still closer to capture images of this grand beauty, I appreciated the bird's complete stillness. Only later did I learn that the beak of a parrot has the bite pressure strong enough to break the bone in your finger.

In inside of this awe inspiring Cathedral in the heart of Ottawa, gives rise to respect and reverence. Quiet and colorful, the architecture is amazing.

This is Ottawa's largest and oldest, still standing Catholic Church and it is also the seat of the Archbishop

Have a great weekend!

Street photography from Glasgow, Scotland.

I see street photography as a privilege. The right to photograph anyone and anything in and from a public place for the purpose of art and documentary is not universal around the world. Rights can be taken away at any time, especially when abused.

I shoot courteously and always respect my subjects right to refuse to be photographed. I have always deleted shots when asked to do so.

On Thursday in Glasgow I was harassed by another street photographer. I don't have to justify why I turned my back to them as they tried to photograph me and I am not a hypocrite for doing so despite their protestations that I 'had a nerve'.

However, if someone indicates or tells you that they do not want to be photographed, if you continue to photograph them over and over again what you are doing can be classified as harassment, a criminal matter. Don't be a jerk and don't bully people.

I reacted out of a place of trauma and I am not proud of that but, as you all know, harassment formed a major part of causing my trauma in the first place. The point is that we, as street photographers, have a responsibility to treat people respectfully. This is deeply important if we want our 'rights' to continue in a world becoming increasingly wary of photographers and 'surveillance'.

This is why I take one shot and move on.

You don't follow people, chase them, take multiple shots or feel affronted if they refuse to be photographed.

Take care my Flickr friends. Take photos. Be kind to one another and I wish you a wonderful week in this crazy world.

Ever since our trip west a couple of years ago, I'm fascinated by the history of the prairies and the once endless herds of Buffalo that shaped the area and it's early people. These two are part of a small herd on a local farm. They are considered wild and are such hardy animals that they have no problem in the winter cold. Their coats are heavy enough that body heat will not melt the snow on their backs. Their skin thickens and a layer of fat further insulates against the cold. Even their metabolism slows so they don't have to eat as much and what they do consume stays in the gut longer to extract more nutrients. Those massive heads and shoulders can plow through four feet of snow to get at the grass and energy is conserved by slowing movements or resting more often. They deserve respect!

🎼🎶 °:::... Bonnie and Clyde ...:::°

Look for me, Young, B

Cruisin' down the west-side, highway

Doing what we like to do, our way

Eyes behind shades, this necklace the reason

All of my dates been blind dates

But today I got my thoroughest girl wit' me

I'm mashin' the gas, she's grabbin' the wheel; it's true to the heart

She rides with me--the new Bobby and Whitney

Only time we don't speak is during "Sex and the City"

She gets Carrie fever, but soon as the show is over

She's right back to being my soldier

'Cause mami's a rider and I'm a roller

Put us together--how they gon' stop both us?

Whatever she lacks, I'm right over her shoulder

When I'm off track, mami is keepin' me focused

So let's lock this down like it's supposed to be

The '03 Bonnie and Clyde, Hov' and B

All I need in this life of sin is me and my girlfriend

Down to ride till the very end it's me and my boyfriend

The problem is you dudes treat the one that you lovin'

With the same respect that you treat the one that you humpin'

Dat ain't 'bout nothin

If ever you mad about somethin', it won't be that, oh no, it won't be that

I don't be at places where we comfy at

With no be-atch; oh no, you won't see that

And, no, I ain't perfect; nobody walkin' this earth's surface is

But, girlfriend, work with the kid

I keep you workin' at Hermes, Birkin' bag

Manolo Blahnik, Timbs, aviator lens

600 drops, Mercedes Benz

The only time you wear Burberry to swim

And I don't have to worry--only worry is him

She'd do anything necessary for him

And I'd do anything necessary for her

So don't let the necessary occur, yup

If I was your girlfriend

I'll be there for you if somebody hurts you

Even if the somebody was me

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be

And so I put this on my life

Nobody or nothing will ever come between us

And I promise I'll give my life

My love and my trust if you was my boyfriend

Put this on my life

The air that I breathe in, all that I believe in

I promise I'll give my life

My love and my trust if you was my boyfriend

So this was interesting, when anthony stepped on the capri sun the first time it shot directly all over my camera, we then tried this photo again and got a keeper. I then ran home and cleaned my camera off

Heute hat er es nicht geschafft, aber Morgen sollte es soweit sein .. ;)))

He didn't make it today, but tomorrow it should be

No lo ha conseguido hoy, pero mañana debería hacerlo .. ;)))

I do enjoy learning new things each day. Especially as I age gracefully, I love the sentiment of respect your elders. Apparently Magnolia flowers are due some reverence as well.

"Magnolia is an ancient genus. Appearing before bees evolved, the flowers are theorized to have evolved to encourage pollination by beetles. To avoid damage from pollinating beetles, the carpels of Magnolia flowers are extremely tough. Fossilized specimens of M. acuminata have been found dating to 20 million years ago, and fossils of plants identifiably belonging to the Magnoliaceae date to 95 million years ago."

Although it looks like the woods in my back yard are blazing with fire in reality it is an incredible sunrise. Not so much for Australia. We must rise above forest fires and be totally ingenuous to the mass destruction they incur and the lives, both animals and humans, that are lost to carelessness and arson.

Just because I can not go to sleep without posting at least one analog picture :)

i wonder what is important to me before i leave this world? someone to remember me? someone to honor me? just enjoying the last moments? just got news that my grand mother's situation got worse... i wonder what she wants.

This is my last picture of the year, and the title says it all. No matter what tradition it is made in, it is the togetherness and love that counts! Please keep the love going for our children's sake in 2025. Please don't lose it; it is the most important thing in our life.

This photo was taken on my cell phone by one of my family members. I don't know who to give credit to, but BRAVO to whoever took it, you created a photo of the year. Thank you, and thank you, my family, for everything!

With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe, and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️

I respect a lot of things, but I don't like being told my own behavior, word or expression, art or not art.

Hail Core was on top of me on that first storm to the north of the City... I deiced to bail & go pick up my daughter, as she had called & said I want to go...I scooped her up & proceeded south of the city about 20 miles between Minden & Axtell Nebraska!

The 2nd supcell of the day was coming at us from Dawson County. @ That time that would be direcly to our west northwest. This storm was a fast mover. The first storm of the afternoon was only moving at 14 mph... So we didn't have much time to take snaps.

Though I did take a lot of snaps ...but I made a rookie play & didn't reset this focus from manual. I can be a knucklehead sometimes with I'm in the thick of things....

These were the final images of that afternoon. The ones in focus... We arrived just minutes ahead of its approach. Just in time to get these phenomenal captures right underneath the base of this monster!!!

I was simply amazed by what caught my eyes….the beautiful wooden columns and flooring, the space and craftsmanship, the silhouette and reflections, and a touch of Autumn colors in the background to brighten it all up….oh yes and its profound silence
