After I built Meduseld from the outside it was great to build the wooden architecture from the inside too. I’m particularly happy how the horse heads turned out.

Images from a sunset at both Lake Illawarra and Barrack Point on the same afternoon.... the heat and humifity at the lake was quite oppressive and that storm cell heading north east was just too interesting not to head over to the ocean to see the show.
Vaseux Lake Migratory Bird Sanctuary is located 5 kilometres south of Okanagan falls in the picturesque Okanagan Valley of southern British Columbia. Covering Vaseux Lake as well as some of the surrounding land, the sanctuary is adjacent, and in some areas overlapping, with the Vaseux-Bighorn National Wildlife Area. These two protected areas are unique in Canada as many of the species present within them are at the most northern extreme of their range.

One of my favourite ever campsites a few weeks ago on the German/Czech border. Huge natural cave, misty morning forest, what more could I ask for?!
Off camera flash in the tent, triggered remotely with a cheap ebay release.
I spotted this snail moving at droplet speed toward an opening to an underground irrigation control box. There it will wait until sunset or when the nearby field is watered at night to reemerge. That's how a snail survives in Southern California during a drought.

Winters here can be awfully long. It's officially Spring but we're under a winter storm warning at the moment - and it's snowing again. Even the beavers are smart enough to seek refuge with satellite television in their lodges and stay put until it warms up.
A trip to Yellowstone in the winter is not complete without taking one of their snow coach or guided snowmobile tours. It's the only way to see some of the interior portions of the park since the majority of the roads are closed during the winter season. Last year we opted for a tour that took us to the Norris Geyser basin where we were able to hike along the snow covered boardwalks and then on to the Hayden valley and Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone which was amazing to see in the winter. This image was photographed during our stop at Norris Geyser basin; it's not uncommon to see large numbers of bison in the area, seeking refuge and warmth from the bitter cold.
Have a great week!!!! Appreciate all your visits and comments.

The work shows sandbanks constantly transformed by the combined action of tidal currents, waves and winds. Different populations of birds occupy these ephemeral and evocative islands which emerge temporarily before being swallowed up again.

L’œuvre montre des bancs de sable constamment transformés par l’action combinée des courants de marées, des vagues et des vents. Différentes population d’oiseaux occupent ces îles éphémères et évocatrices qui émergent temporairement avant d’être englouties à nouveau.

The Lee Metcalf Refuge, established in 1964, is located near the Bitterroot River just a short drive from Stevensville, Montana. Established to accommodate migratory birds on a stop over to rest and feed before continuing their flights.
Lee Metcalf, the Refuges name's sake was a US Senator from Montana.
The Refuge encompasses 2,800 acres and is home to many bird species, deer, and other mammals...
SANCTUARY
With the onset of the winter season the sports anglers change focus to lower Fraser tributaries like the Vedder/Chilliwack river to search for the prized winter steelhead. For many anglers, catching a steelhead is an ultimate dream, wether catching it on a fly, bait casting, spinner or centerpin is an incredible experience. These fish are classic and highly respected throughout the sport, It is the hardest fish to catch in the world, fishing or steelhead is not for everyone. You have to brave the cold and damp winter weather, spending hours in the cold, chilly weather, you have to wear layers to beat the freezing temperature, Steelhead fishing is not best-known as quantity fishery but it is absolutely renowned as a `must-try`one. I dedicate this to the strong willed sports anglers of the river of BC.
A day at the river with my fishing buddies & fellow photographers, thanks for a great day at the river,
