Another detail shot showcases the funny quirks of Pike Place Market. Because of low lighting, I used a shutter speed of 1/000 and compensated it with a ISO of 6400. The aperture of f/5.6 allows me to focus on the disruption to the photo's repeated form composition.
In Photoshop, I cropped the photo to follow the rule of thirds and lowered the red lightness so the color of the apples weren't as harsh.
Also, a slumbering fish in the background...although we did have a LONG
debate about whether it was dead or not.
Col. Jack Haefner, Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I and Command Sgt. Maj. Patrick M. Quirk, the garrison's senior enlisted leader, honor the winners of the Area I Commander's Cup at the Carey Physical Fitness Center on Camp Casey Aug. 4. The awards were based on three categories of unit size; large, medium, and small. Points were awarded for their participation in college enrollment, volunteerism, and recreational events during a six month period. The winners received a traveling trophy, a streamer for their guidon and a company barbecue party. The winner of the large group category is Alpha Battery, 1-38 Field Artillery, medium category winner is 4th Chemical Company, 23rd Chemical Battalion and in the small category Company C, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division took top honors.

Our friends the Quirk's and my daughter Taylor, were a great support group on the marathon course. This was about mile 20 of the '03 White Rock Marathon. Believe me, I needed the cheers at mile 20!
Victoria Bridge – Melbourne St – 1968 There is standing room only on FM Car N°543 as it turns into Stanley Street at the head of a procession of peak hour trams coming off Victoria Bridge in 1968. The Melbourne Street tracks in the foreground lead to Dutton Park and West End. At the far left is a sign advertising the construction of the new Victoria Bridge.
Artists were asked to create a wacky doghouse for this exhibit... all proceeds were donated to the SPCA. Pretty cool!
On Camp Red Cloud in Uijeongbu Dec. 23, members of the U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I community attend a farewell luncheon in honor of Sgt. 1st Class Jose O. Benavidez, operations noncommissioned officer-in-charge at the garrison's Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security. Benavidez served more than 27 months in Korea.

Quirk presented medals to the fastest runners and spoke to the group about Spirit Challenge, an endurance event scheduled for Sept. 13 on Camp Hovey and Casey.
