Architecture major Brendan Quirk created this "Untitled" sculpture strongly referencing a kaleidoscope in the visual effects achieved in the work. By using simple medium-density fiberboard and inexpensive mirrors Brendan constructs for us a structure seemingly inert in its outward appearance though spectacularly active when one looks down into the opening at the top of the work.
On Camp Red Cloud in Uijeongbu May 26, two departing members of the U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I are awarded medals for their service with the garrison's Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security. David G. Newland and Michael A. Mills each received a Commander's Award for Civilian Service medal for "exceptional meritorious achievement." Newland had served as Area I Emergency Operations Specialist since July 2008, and Mills as Area I Emergency Manager since October 2008. Col. Jack Haefner, Commander, USAG Red Cloud and Area I, presented the medals. He was accompanied at the ceremony by Command Sgt. Maj. Patrick M. Quirk, the garrison's senior enlisted leader. The ceremony was held at Mitchell's Community Club and Conference Center, and was followed there by a separate farewell luncheon for Harvey B. Clark, who served as head of DPTMS from October 2013. Mayne BB18¼ N° 1023 – 14.7.68 BB18¼ N° 1023 is undergoing repairs at Mayne Engine Shed on 14th July 1968. To allow access to the superheater elements, the spark arrestor has been dismantled with the screens stacked on the front running board.

The sky looks threatening as BB18¼ Nº 1038 takes water and has its fire cleaned at Grandchester on 6th October 1968
This is something that has been happening often enough to be a nuisance when taking night shots. These little green glowballs or streaks. Anyone familiar with it? It seems to me it's some of the interior lights, as you see when sighting through the viewfinder, but why is it getting captured in the shot?

FM Car N° 551 Adelaide & Wharf Sts Four Motor Car N° 551 passes Mount Isa House in Adelaide St on its journey to Enoggera in 1968. This car was one of the eight so called “Phoenix” cars constructed in 1963-64 to replace some of those lost in the Paddington Depot fire.
