N° 47 & N° 65 Workshops The Brisbane City Council retained a number of historic cars that were used on special occasions. Here N° 47 and N° 65 pose outside the Workshops in 1968. This photo was taken inside Snoopers Paradise, Brighton in 2019. My friend, Xanthe, was trying on some glasses, looked in my lens and crossed her eyes, so I took the photo. I feel it's a photo that really represents her bubbly, quirky personality; in contrast, the symmetry of the photo represents her academic and mature side.

Many think that 3rd party access is only a recent innovation. Here in April 1972, Aramac Shire Council’s 0-6-0 DH climbs away from Lagoon Creek between Aramac Junction and Barcaldine on the Central Railway with a lightly loaded special of 4 N, ALG and van. The Up Home signal for the junction can just be seen near the lamp post adjacent to the left hand end of the traffic island. Working arrangements prescribed that the Council’s locomotive performed any necessary shunting whilst in Barcaldine.

FM Car N°420 has just crossed the George St intersection as it travels along Queen Street bound for North Quay on 5th April 1969.
Lord Mayor Graham Quirk dropped in to open the French Festival. He looks much younger in real life than on TV, not that I watch much TV. Speaks very well, looks exceptionally fit, but I would advise him to drop the humour, not his strong suit, but excellent speaker.
This summer come to the Elsie Quirk Library and play the Wii or get your groove on with Dance Dance Revolution!
Game Nights are scheduled on June 23, July 7 and July 28 from 6 to 8 p.m., and it's for ages 11 and up.
