Gympie Loco 992 - 3.8.68 The sun has just appeared on the horizon and highlights Gympie’s high level signal cabin on the morning of 3rd August 1968. C17 N° 992 makes a steamy departure from the northern end of the loco shed leaving behind her sister engines slumbering in the darkness.
Looking north towards Main Street sees FM Car N°529 traverse the connection between Stanley Street and Ipswich Road in 1969. The building behind the tram is the signal box that controlled this busy junction
FM Car N° 519 in Trafalgar Street Woolloongabba. This was part of a loop line connected to Stanley Street and was used to assembly trams when events were held at the Brisbane Cricket Ground. The right of way of the former Wooloongabba Branch is partially visible on the right.

This depot was the largest on the network with a 28 road shed. By the time this photograph was taken Roads 1 – 3 on the left had been demolished to provide additional space for diesel buses.

RM 28 and trailer traverse open plains country near Bowyer en-route to Aramac. The service has connected at Barcaldine with 54Up Midlander. Passengers are seated in the motor and roadside can be seen in the trailer. The Council purchased RM28, TP48 and TP50 from QGR in 1963. Both trailers had removable seats and could easily be converted for passenger or goods service. The rail motor was scheduled to run on Wednesdays and Thursdays to connect with the Midlander at Barcaldine. It was also utilised on other occasions such as when special passenger trains ran at the beginning and end of school terms. Additional services were operated in wet weather when the road between the two towns was impassable. One or two trailers with or without seats were conveyed depending on patronage.
