I recently removed the AC system in my BMW e30 and installed a large cooling fan (sourced from an E36 BMW 328i) in place of the AC condenser. I bought the car with a broken clutch fan, not broken as in not functioning but broken off and missing. A few years back I had the exact same thing happen on my wife's 735iL and before that my 1984 Datsun Maxima had a clutch fan fail & tear my radiator to pieces with almost immediate coolant loss. The point is I'm not a fan of clutch fans and so I decided to attack my problem head-on, I installed a bigger fan than required, eliminated the condenser which slows & inhibits cooling by / to the primary radiator and I wired in the Snowflake (AC) button to operate the fan only when I decide it's necessary. I've always been good at watching the temperature gauge.

I've had a great shoot with Sara today - lots of fun!

The pictures will be uploaded soon, but here's a quickfix for a distracting assistent.

Just put something over their head - it helps! ;)

You gotta do what you gotta do. If you run out of packing tape to keep your gas tank door closed? No problem, finish up with a bandaid!

Or maybe the band-aid is helping to alleviate a bit of the "pain at the pump."

The Double Down Max adds a zesty sauce and hash brown to the formula, whose test-run proved so successful that the bunless bites are now permanent menu items. All ab-o-a--r-d! ;-)

The newly created Nabadiganta Township Authority hopes to fix the problems created by decades of neglect of Sector V by the incompetent Bidhan Nagar Municipality. Whether the hopes transform into reality is a big question. The roads need to be fixed. The footpaths relaid. The sewage and drainage system fixed, those cables removed, proper bus stands built, remove all the food and chai shacks and housing them in proper built up area.

As usual, the biggest size is hidden here.

I've looked it up today, it's "Lake Ontario".

I've been at a meeting this evening, and haven't had time to put together my photo of the day. So it's product shot time! :D

Seen at the corner of Woodland Avenue and Lindaro Street in San Rafael.

Went ahead and fixed the fitment of both sideskirts. Due to jacking the car up, the sideskirts were pushed outside, creating a gap.

To fix it, I had to remove the skirts and trimmed them on the place of the jack points. Quick and easy fix!

The Flyover

Who would have thought the term, fly over, would take on a literal meaning to a couple on a motorcycle?

This is one of the numerous quickfix mini-flyovers to have sprouted in Chennai in the last ten years. Mini because it is very narrow. It was built in a hurry and it has these beautiful but dangerous curves.

Ten days ago a couple speeding on a bike could negotiate the sharp curve properly, hit the guardrails and got thrown off neatly. They vaulted over the rails to crash down some 25 feet or so. The motorcycle stayed on above. Freaky accident indeed.

Freakier part which was quite fortunate for them was that they landed on the roof of a passing car which broke their fall. They escaped what would have been a certain death. Real adventure indeed. Thanks to the bright minds in the urban design team.

This photo was taken much before the accident and was not meant to illustrate the story.

Knitted Workbag from Needlecraft, Dec. 1915 (pattern, pdf)

For the Quick Fix Knitalong

I'm knitting it in plain old dishcloth cotton, nothin' fancy. The plan is to dye it when I'm done, line it, and substitute handles of some kind for the drawstring that the pattern calls for.

Attempting to make my tripod stand straight in waist-deep snow, I managed to break it instead. I tried using a few bits of jute twine to hold the broken leg in place long enough to keep the contraption standing for the rest of our trip. It worked surprisingly well. (Thanks to a really fast spare parts distributor a replacement for the cracked piece arrived back at our home before we did.)

Prior to the locomotive shortage effects kicking in, Burnie Yard would sometimes be overflowing. Out of use former Emu Bay Railway locomotive sits in a siding attached to a fuel wagon, whilst 2006/2100 and another locomotive occupy the quickfix. 2005 and another DQ can also be seen. This is in addtion to 2101 and another unidentified locomotive that were also in Burnie at the time.

While sewing many hours on my Twinkling Stars I have noticed that the clear table insert around the machine tended to sag. The corner supports were not quite enough. I super glued a support in the middle. It worked great. Now the table top stays level and I don't get "blips" in my quilting from the quilt not sliding easily over it!

Yay for a quick fix!

Yep. Brownie made in a mug.

I had a great day yesterday. Tried out a cafe I haven't tried before (Just Us Cafe) where I dined on a vegan panini and a chickpea roll! They were both delicious. Then I just walked around downtown on a beautiful sunny and breezy day. Yet the only photo I snapped yesterday was one of a Brownie in a Mug I made last night.

Here is the recipe with my ever so slight adjustments:

Brownie in a Mug

ingredients

4 Tbsp. flour

4 Tbsp. sugar

2 Tbsp. cocoa powder

1 Tbsp. neutral tasting oil

1 Tbsp. applesauce

1/4 tsp. vanilla

Tiny pinch of salt

Dump everything into a mug and mix thoroughly. Put the mug in the microwave for about one minute, depending on your microwave (the centre should still be wet when it's done). You'll probably want to let it sit and cool for a minute or two as it's very hot!

Verdict: It wasn't bad for something you make in 2 minutes! A bit dry, but I think it would be great if you were to top it with a bit of ice cream.
