Quick and Easy “Gravy” Recipe ala Jollibee
Simple GRAVY Recipe ala Jollibee
Ingredients :
3 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons flour
1 beef cube
2 cups beef broth / beef stock
¼ ground pepper
¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions:
(1) Flour Mixture: Dissolve flour in ½ cup of broth / stock
(2) Melt butter in a pan over lowest heat
(3) Add the bouillon cube. Dissolve in the butter.
(4) Add the 1 ½ cup of broth
(5) Simmer over low heat for 2-3 minutes
(6) Add the cornstarch mixture
(7) Continue whisking until sauce is smooth and thick.
(8) Quick, Easy, Simple Gravy is now ready to be served!

December 2016, Port-au-Prince – Through a MINUSTAH-funded Quick Impact Project (QIP), 12 kiosks spread around the village of Merger (Leogane), in the hills above Port-au-Prince, to provide access to clean water to 60, 000 people a day. The Mission implemented more than 1,700 quick impact projects which rehabilitated and constructed public infrastructure such as municipal buildings, courts, prisons, police stations, roads, schools, and water and sanitation systems. Other initiatives included civic education, vocational training, income generation and environmental projects.

On a whim I decided to see how the G12 would go at digitising the old B&W images in one of my photo albums. Thus the set name, Red Album. It certainly is quicker than scanning them. Got half way through when I decide to see if using a tripod would slow things down.
I had been holding the pages open with one hand and firing the camera with the other. Generally tried a manual setting with aperture priority and 100 or 200ISO.
Was getting a slow shutter speed, so decided to use the Manfroto tripod and manual settings. A shutter speed of 1/25th or less often resulted as I moved the 40w 20" flourescent tube drafting lamp around to avoid flare and reflections.
Then I started tweaking the G12 settings and tried several shots with the Dynamic range adjusted to 200 or 400%. Have to check if this made much difference...
I left the edges of the images, even the corner stickers, and the white ink notes under each shot. This saves a little typing here, and shows you it is a print and not an original B&W image or a neg scan. They aren't that good, so it should be easy to tell!
I set the camera on large L, 10Mpixel for A2 prints, so I had room for cropping or getting 2 images from one shot. Generally I used the 4:3 format for the same reason.
I also set the self-timer on for a one second delay for one shot to let the camera settle on the tripod, which was often leaning over at and angle and resting on the table, so I could get a vertical shot down to the album photo.

This was a fast build for me. I've been checking out the "Vic Vipers" (whatever that is) and got inspired. I wanted to make something small and fast looking. Something just for fun. I may take better pictures of this later or not. We'll see.
