SEMAINE DE LA RECHERCHE, LA RECHERCHE EN QUESTION(S) DU 15-20 MARS 2011, L’idée de cette Semaine de la Recherche est de permettre à la recherche dans le domaine de la musique et des arts de la scène de sortir du cadre articles conférence-théorie pour aller à la rencontre d’un large public : musiciens professionnels ou amateurs, amis du théâtre, passionnés de musique ou tout simplement curieux, enfants et adultes, tous sont invités à venir découvrir concrètement les résultats de différents projets de recherche.
One of the most common questions from visitors to Glacier Bay is, “What makes the ice blue?” The ice is blue because that is its true color. This color is expressed because the ice is pure, which allows the light to penetrate sufficiently far that the reds, yellows and violets are differentially absorbed from the light spectrum, leaving the blues and greens to be transmitted back to one’s eye. Ice looks white when it contains too many air bubbles that scatter the light back before it can be differentially absorbed by the ice. This example came from the bottom of Lamplugh Glacier. I was camped near the base of the glacier and while exploring its edge, I was able to safely maneuver to a crevasse (a large crack). I liked the abstract pattern created by the sand contrasted against the blue ice, as well as the ambiguity of the scale. This photo frames only about five square feet of ice.

O parlamentar solicita que o prefeito de Itajaí responda: qual é a remuneração dos agentes comunitários de saúde? A remuneração destes agentes é paga exclusivamente com recursos do Município? Caso o pagamento não seja feito integralmente pelo Município, qual é a parcela paga pelo Executivo Municipal? O valor restante é pago por qual ente? O que o Município tem previsto para os agentes comunitários de saúde na reforma administrativa em elaboração? Existe planejamento para aumento de vencimento e/ou acréscimo de alguma gratificação? O Município pretende transformar o cargo celetista de agente comunitário de saúde em estatutário? Quantos agentes estão em atividade no Município? Há déficit de profissionais nessa função? De autoria do vereador Vanderley Dalmolin (MDB), foi aprovado o Requerimento nº 24/2026 com 13 votos favoráveis. O parlamentar pede informações ao prefeito e à Secretaria Municipal de Educação sobre alimentação diferenciada na Rede Municipal de Ensino. Entre as perguntas estão: o Município de Itajaí possui levantamento oficial e atualizado do número de crianças que necessitam de alimentação diferenciada por seletividade alimentar na Rede Municipal de Ensino? Existe, no âmbito da Secretaria Municipal de Educação, procedimento formal de cadastro e acompanhamento das crianças que necessitam de alimentação diferenciada? O Município já possui cardápio específico ou adaptado para crianças com seletividade alimentar, elaborado pelas nutricionistas da Rede Municipal de Ensino? Existe orientação técnica formal às unidades escolares e às equipes responsáveis pelo preparo da alimentação quanto à execução do cardápio adaptado?

O Requerimento nº 29/2024, de autoria do vereador Odivan Linhares Mamão (PSD), foi aprovado com 10 votos favoráveis. O parlamentar faz questionamentos ao prefeito sobre a viabilidade de implantação de polo de dispensação de medicamentos que atenda os munícipes residentes nas localidades do interior do Município, como Brilhante, Paciência, KM 12, Limoeiro, Campeche, Arraial dos Cunha, atualmente vinculadas ao polo localizado no Bairro Itaipava. Entre as perguntas estão: há estudo técnico ou planejamento por parte da Secretaria Municipal de Saúde para a implantação de um polo de dispensação de medicamentos que atenda as comunidades do interior? Qual o número estimado de usuários do Sistema Único de Saúde residentes nessas localidades que atualmente dependem do polo situado no Bairro Itaipava? A Câmara de Vereadores de Itajaí recebeu, durante a 8ª Sessão Ordinária, a presidente do Conselho Municipal dos Direitos da Mulher, Luciana de Carvalho Paulo Coelho. A representante do Conselho destacou os avanços na legislação municipal, especialmente projetos recentemente aprovados, que tratam da laqueadura e luto materno.
Luciana também convidou as mulheres para participar de um evento que será promovido pela Secretaria Municipal de Assistência Social e Cidadania no dia 7 de março, sábado, em alusão ao Dia Internacional da Mulher. O evento acontece na Praça Genésio Miranda Lins, das 10h às 16h, e contará com serviços gratuitos de saúde, bem-estar, beleza e de assessoria jurídica.

Fred Smith: From This Disposition
Fred Smith (b. 1987) is a human navigating their day to day existence through the act of making drawings, paintings, and sculptural objects. Their work is developed with a sense of subversive irony, exploring societal norms and situations that seem off or odd.
By bending physicality and destabilizing reality, Fred Smith’s uncanny creations prompt us to ask complex questions about our surroundings and our imagination. The artist has a similar mission in mind while creating the work, stating that he’s “simply asking questions that I don’t know how to ask with words.” Molding form and spaces into open-ended queries, Smith delivers us to a site where “the world is a stage.”
The improvisational quality imbued throughout his compositions nods at Surrealism—a movement developed in post-war Paris that explored the unconscious, hidden psychological tensions, and dream states. Creative abilities permeated Smith’s immediate family, and he has made drawings since his youth. His practice deepened the summer after eighth grade, he drew constantly from National Geographic and skateboard magazines after an ACL tear forced him to direct his active energy into visual expression. More recently, Smith’s sobriety—he stopped drinking and smoking marijuana in 2020—has strengthened his vigor to make paintings; he observes that “the difference is definitely in the work.” Smith swiftly and successfully cuts through what’s “known” and approaches the absurd as a place to survey the destabilization of certain structures and systems—an illuminated unreality. It is through this choose-your-own-adventure template that we can conceive of new worlds.

The Mint Museum is the largest visual arts institution in Charlotte and holds the largest public collection of Charlotte-born artist Romare Bearden's work.
The American Art collection comprises approximately 900 works created between the late 1700s and circa 1945. It includes portraiture of the Federal era, 19th century landscapes, and paintings from the group known as "The Eight" (Robert Henri, George Luks, William Glackens, John Sloan, Everett Shinn, Maurice Prendergast, Ernest Lawson, and Arthur Bowen Davies). There are about 2,230 objects in the Mint's collection of Contemporary Art. These include the Bearden collection and other works on paper, contemporary sculpture, and photography from circa 1945 to the present.
The Mint's Decorative Arts collection, considered one of the finest in the country, centers on its holdings in ceramics. Almost 10,000 items of men's, women's, and children's fashions from the early 18th century to present-day haute couture are included in the museum's collection of Historic Costume and Fashionable Dress, which approaches fashion as an art form.
