Oral Question Period on the first day of business for the Third Session of the 28th Legislature. November 18, 2014.
Attached please find a photo for the Spotlight Volunteer winner for the AVC
page. Questions and responses for the article are below. Her name is
Jennifer Koepl, she volunteers as the Bravo FRG Leader.
1. Where do you volunteer? I volunteer with Bravo Company, 3-1 STB 1AD
2. What inspires you to volunteer? The military community is a great one
and it makes me feel good to give back to our service men and women.
3. How long have you been a volunteer? With this position, only a few
months, but volunteering has been a big part of my life for several years.
4. Do you encourage others to volunteer? Why? Yes I do encourage others
to volunteer. It is important to get out there and give back. The work does
not go unnoticed and everyone appreciates the hard work we do to get the job
done.
5. What is your overall perspective on volunteerism? My perspective on
volunteerism is that you get out of it what you put in it, especially with
the FRGs. It takes a lot of work, but it is worth every bit of it. Plus, my
kids see me volunteer and I hope that
they will see that it is a good thing to do when they are old enough to
volunteer.
Please let me know if you need any further information from me.
Thanks!

No loopers today. This spiny caterpillar is Polygonia interrogationis, also known as the Question Mark. They get their name because of a marking on the outside of the hindwing that looks similar to the eponymous punctuation symbol.
Much like the luna moth I posted recently, and perhaps on the same day, I found this plump, healthy critter on the side of the climbing, windy driveway of Natural Bridge State Park. The larva are variable in appearance; I think I chanced upon a pretty handsome one. A bit disappointed in the shots as it was a chunky fellow who just barely fit into the long end (55mm) of my reverse lens. The spines were quite the challenge.
A couple other tidbits about our friend: he had a younger sibling on the other of the leaf on which it rested. This caterpillar would also do what I imagine was some sort of defensive threat display by raising its anal prolegs. Not sure it was necessary; this caterpillar was the last thing I can imagine I (or a bird, for that matter) would want to touch. :o)

Find the bird word.
Look at the picture and try to find a bird connected word. All are one word answers - think of words like egg, beak, nest, plumage etc.

Note-Grids are a tool for collecting and connecting objects of thought (in this case, words).
They treat words and other manifestations of thought as objects that can be freely manipulated to create new meaning.
They break meaning up into individual words to facilitate a more fluid, intuitive, and improvisational approach to knowledge production.

All parents question themselves about how they raised their kids. I’ve said for a long time the question is not if you messed your kids up but how you messed them up. Thankfully most kids are resilient creatures and parents do enough good along with their occasional blunders that we they turn out OK. One of the best days in a parent’s life is when they hear their kids say something positive about their up bring. I got to experience this last week. Here is a Facebook post from my daughter who teaches English at Lone Star Jr. College.
Today was one of those days where I really needed to get something back to students, but couldn't stay awake to finish, so I set an alarm for 3:30am to get another hour of grading in before getting ready and jumping into the car for the commute.
It's days like this that I most miss the water. I remember long runs on the boat with Dad and Eric, hands sticky from a soda, skin hot from the sun, singing into the wind because no one but God could hear me. Moments like that feel really far away when I'm this tired and my day is so far from over, but it's good to know that the water is still there, patiently waiting for me to stop, rest, breathe, and maybe even sing again.
As a dad, I know I made plenty of mistakes but one thing I got right is I took my kids fishing. Pictures of kids here at Bay Flats Lodge always bring back those memories. Maybe you need to make some of those memories. Were here to help. Help you and your kids stop, rest, breath and maybe even sing.

#documentaSceptic is an art project addressing questions like " Is Documenta Dangerous ?" Why Athens ? " Do artists have a role or a function ? etc ...
IT AIM TO QUESTION THE STRUCTURE
Artist Thierry Geoffroy has been working on questioning Biennales and other cultural managed events like documenta since 1989 . Biennalist is an Art Format studying Biennales concepts and have it as inspiration for creation of art works .Often those events promote them selves with thematics or political atitudes . Biennalist take the thematics of the Biennales very seriously , and test their pertinance often on location . #DocumentaSceptic is part of the Biennalist. .
Artists have questioned for decades the canvas , the pigment , the museum ... , since 1989 Colonel and the Biennalists question the Biennales instead .Often Biennalist converge with Emergency Room ( today before it is too late ) .
