Port Quin

There are two doors and we’ve always assumed there are two cottages, the sign on the gate just names one, Quay Cottage. This might explain why we’ve never seen the right hand door open or being used. Like all the other properties in the cove, about 10 in total, it appears to be a holiday let. The photo was taken 15 minutes prior to sunset.

Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

Still drizzly on our way back up but by now there were more dogs we had to dodge (despite this street looking very quiet!) There weren't many places to 'hide', so we walked back a bit more quickly than on our way down!

The City of Exeter is a very interesting place indeed and a place that I really enjoy visiting, I was lucky enough once more this year to pay it a visit for a couple of days, this shot taken by the tranquil River Exe on the Exeter Quay.

More fun & games with Blue Hour reflections on the Isle of Dogs - sorry couldn't resist it - like the way the top of Canary Wharf attracts water vapour like a kind of Urban Cloud & the light pollution from sleepy London Town

Mondays visit to Cei Newydd / New Quay, Ceredigion, Wales, UK

New Quay was once a flourishing shipbuilding centre and fishing port. The miles of secluded coves around New Quay provided ideal hiding places in the less salubrious but probably more profitable trade of smuggling spirits and tobacco.

Today the small local fishing and pleasure craft still come and go in the sheltered bay. New Quay’s beaches extend in a golden arc around the bay and are ideal for relaxing and strolling by the sea. Enjoy a walk along the front to the end of the Quay and watch the boats sail by. Or sit in one of the cafes overlooking the harbour and see the dolphins

Media Centre Salford Quays

A great weekend in and around Manchester with expert guidance from Andy Rouse and Michael Dutson. A shot of the Detroit Bridge in a very soggy Salford Quays, the rain prevented the hoped for sunset but we did get a few breaks and I managed to get this in one of them

Had a very productive evening at the beautiful Hartland Quay tonight. One of the most beautiful spots in England to watch a sunset.

Last nights sunset over Hartland Quay in Devon.

Sullivan's Quay by the old city wall of Cork and less than a 5 minute walk from where I grew up.

I'm back from a trip home to see my family and spend time with my Mom. The weather always a factor was typically Irish but mostly pleasant. The few days of grayness with constant Irish rain don't count because we went to the pubs. Where we enjoyed good food, drink and great company.

I spent most of the visit in my home County of Cork, visiting old favorite sites, some I haven't been to in years. Also a few places I've never been to off the beaten tracks of West Cork. We also spent time in County Wicklow and Dublin.

Thank you my friends for you visit I really appreciate it. :-)

A view of some of the interesting boats moored at Dell Quay. I particularly like the wooden one in the middle. This is a second visit to this place for me and we will be back to catch a sunset if possible.

Photographed by me last Monday night in Sydney, having eluded the security (for the second night in a row) who thought I was part of the laser/light crew (who were preparing for the coming weekend's laser show to celebrate 50 years of the Opera House) - ha!

Monday 16th October, 2023.

The Quay is located on the upper level of Sydney's Overseas Passenger Terminal. Just just below the Rotunda Observation Deck. And on Monday nights the Quay Restaurant is closed - which was good - because I could get this photograph!!

Oh, by the way, from the menu I think I may order the Southern rock lobster, sea urchin, koshihikari rice & marigold broth.

Circular Quay, located in the heart of Sydney, is the city's main ferry terminal and a key hub for exploring its most iconic attractions. From here, you get stunning views of the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. It’s a lively area with restaurants, bars, and access to cultural spots like the Museum of Contemporary Art. It’s also the departure point for ferries to Manly, Taronga Zoo, and other coastal areas. Additionally, it's close to The Rocks, Sydney’s historic district. Circular Quay is the perfect place to stroll, soak in the atmosphere, and admire the city skyline.

This is another version of the photo taken from Newcastle Quayside looking South across the river Tyne towards Gateshead Quays.

New Quay is a very small town in Ceredigion Wales, a charming place and well known as a great place to see the local pod of dolphins, which I did.

The image has been done using layers and a couple of editing programs.

The skies broke at around 3pm to provide a startling amount of heat and sunshine...it’s Wales for crissakes, it’s supposed to be wall to wall rain!

It’s the first panorama I’ve done with the iPhone ... not too shabby.
