I’m must admit that your support and positive thinking is priceless!! You are giving me the motivation to take more of my crazy pictures…
And today, there is a problem. Yellow Lady just got back from her trip (cruise) with a message in a bottle (picture from few days (or weeks??) ago). She was carelessly floating around in the ocean… Passing by some massive international cruise boats at a very dangerous distance (like less than 1 meter) … not wearing a mask or gloves and being very, very unaware of all the Covid 19 hysteria. Yes, some people may have sneezed on her, or in her general direction… She even shared a lollipop with some guy named Sven who looked very sick (he was coughing and was boiling) but he was cute and charming, so she did it anyway… She never washed her hands, she had to save the drinking water and she is allergic to sea salt... so she could not use the sea water to wash her hands...
She used ALL her toilet paper supplies and when she got back, she throwed a last roll of her toilet paper on her neighbor house because he didn’t take care of her mail like she asked him before going on her “cruise” ... Upon her return, she was left with an egg, a can of soup, and 24 bottles of sherry at her house… Oh and she had a huge quantity of white vinegar… You see, when I was a child, my grandmother always had like 20 gallons of white vinegar at any time in her house. She was always stocking white vinegar and sugar. I must say that during my childhood in a communist country there was nothing in stores. We had shortages of everything, so people were overbuying what they could find…
And that was the case with our Yellow Lady: she had a lot of vinegar. Living in a bottle in the middle of the sea: she completely missed the beginning of Covid 19 crisis. Now, she has to respect some very strict governmental rules! She has to be in quarantine for at least 14 days! Also, she has to wait near the phone to know the results of her Covid 19 testing ! It takes a day or two… and since the first person she went to see after returning from her improvised cruise was her boss, the Red Lady, they are in quarantine together.
Patience is the key to the perfect quarantine. There is not much to do, besides waiting… (and eating…. oh crap… I almost got through all my chocolate supplies and it is only the second day of governmental measures here in Montreal)!!! Be patient my ladies and share the kindness, we are all in the same boat!

the government has decided to extend our enhanced community quarantine for an extra 15 days which means that these buildings and business establishments will remain closed during that period. a covid reflection : during quarantine, is it better to be in an urban jungle or a natural jungle?
These are strange times. Going through my photos it occurred to me that this might be the perfect place to self-isolate and do some social distancing while the pandemic rages. I haven't felt like posting to photos for years as I've mainly occupied myself with painting and drawing and some of my work can be seen on instagram (www.instagram.com/asmundur/). I snapped this just before last christmas and it depicts an old restored school building near Vogar on the Reykjanes peninsula.
I finally caught covid "ugh" so decided take a fun pic to kill time in quarantine.

this photo was taken only one week after the one I posted yesterday. unfortunately spring wasn't supposed to stay. I'm hopeful that this plant will survive the snow but the magnolia did freeze and is now brown. nevertheless I'll post those not so beautiful pictures (although I still have some nice ones from before the cold weather came) because that is what quarantine/life/nature looks like.
