Little did we know that making the move to CO nearly four years ago would be a life saver for us. We are surrounded by national forest and a national park, so the opportunities to get out and enjoy nature without another living soul in sight are endless. I think there were only two other photographers at this spot a few weeks ago, shooting the sunrise, and we were all shooting from different spots along the lake, so masks necessary .

The Lazzeretto Cerigo - Kythera Quarantine Station - was built by the British during their occupation of the Ionian Islands around 1810. To date, there has not been a single case of Covid 19 recorded on the island.

After many weeks on the ships from the old country passengers with infections could end up on this island in our harbour. Of about 9,000 people quarantined 70 died between 1863 and 1924 when it ceased to function.
