Circle Totem - Olivier Clausse
A suspended moment for gathering and sharing.
Circle Totem is a poetic, slow and narrative installation. The totem can be appreciated in its own right but also in a broader context. It is, in fact, a suspended moment conducive to gathering and sharing. This artistic proposal aims to re-establish links. First of all, the link with time, by inviting you to contemplate, stop and observe. But also the link with constant rediscovery through the play of lights, colours and intensities. The totems are animated independently and the pool of water at the base of each structure reflects the light and allows for multiple points of view.
Through his unique view of light, Olivier Clausse describes himself as a creative worker and scenographer who constantly sharpens his relationship with the object. Backed by twenty-six years of experience in the performing arts, cinema and crafts, he has forged his own personality. Together with the Afro-American choreographer Nora Chipaumire, he has established himself as an international lighting designer. His minimalist stage designs and raw lighting were praised in 2012 by the New York Times for the piece 'Miriam' performed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Olivier Clausse has multiplied his projects in theatre and music, notably with the quadraphonic concert 'La Colonie de Vacances' and 8 years of tours across France.

This is looks like a standard version but it's The SQ Quadraphonic version. It's a later reissue sans the gatefold cover but the extended overture and SQ mixes make up for that such as The Roller Skate Rag with the skate-tapping that goes around you via SQ.

Concert quadriphonique avec Papier Tigre, Pneu, Eletric Electric et Marvin.

During the early 1970s the record industry produced lp records in three quadraphonic formats . The above pictured record sleeve contained one of those products. Unfortunately the appreciation of quadraphonic product required the use of four matching loudspeakers and some expensive record decks, amplifiers, and decoders.
The Highway One lp though quite impressive as a sound 'spectacle', was a quite corny concept album suggesting a mildly raunchy USA beach town holiday romance.
Before too long the quadraphonic lp disc fell out of favour.

Elvis purchased his first personal plane, a Convair 880, from Delta Air Lines for $250,000 (approximately $1.2 million today) in April 1975. The plane, named the ‘Lisa Marie’ after his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, underwent extensive refurbishment. The interior was customised with a lavish yellow, green, and gold theme, featuring gold-plated belt buckles, leather-topped tables, and suede sofas. Modern amenities included a sky-to-ground phone and a quadraphonic eight-track stereo system.
The Lisa Marie had separate areas, including a spacious master bedroom, a guest bedroom, a lounge area, a conference room, and two and a half baths with gold fixtures.
While sleek and modern inside, the exterior was painted white with a blue and red stripe running from the nose to the tail. The tail featured the US flag colors and an Elvis Presley logo with the acronym TCB (Taking Care of Business). Elvis affectionately referred to this plane as the ‘Flying Graceland’, drawing parallels to his famous home in Memphis.

He's got more channels
So hologramic, oh my TVC one five
I brought my baby home, she, she sat around forlorn
She saw my TVC one five, baby's gone, she
She crawled right in, oh my, she crawled right in my
So hologramic, oh my TVC one five
Oh, so demonic, oh my TVC one five

This cyclorama was created in 1912 by artist Louis Dumoulin and is 360 feet long and 39 feet high. The display, now enhanced by quadraphonic sound, depicts the last battle of Napoleon Bonaparte. This defeat ended his rule as emperor of France. The panoramic painting is displayed in the original building erected for that purpose in 1912.

In conjunction with Coachella and Desert Gold, Data Garden produced a semi-permanent plant music installation for Ace Hotel Palm Springs. Visitors are invited to relax and the Sky Deck and take in the sounds of a quadraphonic sound installation while gazing at the stars. Not only is it an 8-track of Mahavishnu Orchestra, but it is a *Quadraphonic* 8-track. Even back in my "hippy" days I was a geek.

IMO, I much prefer the stereo version as this has an odd SQ remix on some tracks. Still, it's a classic that's enjoyable in stereo or Quad (BTW, stereo records sound BETTER played on Quad/Surround systems making them sound fuller.)
