Circle Totem - Olivier Clausse

A suspended moment for gathering and sharing.

Circle Totem is a poetic, slow and narrative installation. The totem can be appreciated in its own right but also in a broader context. It is, in fact, a suspended moment conducive to gathering and sharing. This artistic proposal aims to re-establish links. First of all, the link with time, by inviting you to contemplate, stop and observe. But also the link with constant rediscovery through the play of lights, colours and intensities. The totems are animated independently and the pool of water at the base of each structure reflects the light and allows for multiple points of view.

Through his unique view of light, Olivier Clausse describes himself as a creative worker and scenographer who constantly sharpens his relationship with the object. Backed by twenty-six years of experience in the performing arts, cinema and crafts, he has forged his own personality. Together with the Afro-American choreographer Nora Chipaumire, he has established himself as an international lighting designer. His minimalist stage designs and raw lighting were praised in 2012 by the New York Times for the piece 'Miriam' performed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Olivier Clausse has multiplied his projects in theatre and music, notably with the quadraphonic concert 'La Colonie de Vacances' and 8 years of tours across France.

Pink Floyd Rock Legend Roger Waters at the American Airlines Center, Dallas, TX. Роджер Уотерс и Пинк Флойд в Далласе.

A doorway to the world of dark and unperceivable materials, using Jürgen Reble’s 25,000 scans of 16 mm chemograms. A visual expedition into crystalized salts and dyes, showing the bizarre richness and beauty of film’s materiality. The quadraphonic staging of Materia Obscura expands the performance space, where the horizontal flow of time meets the sonic impulse. Thomas Köner’s music floats at the borders of perception, as if it is a means of communicating with the beyond.

Thomas Köner (DE) and Jürgen Reble (DE) have been working together since 1992 in the fields of film, installation and performance. Thomas Köner studied electronic music and extended his concept of time and sound colour to images, resulting in video installations, photography and net art. The works of film alchemist Jürgen Reble are often rooted in the manual processing of film footage using mechanical and chemical influences and reconstruction of the cinematographic apparatus.

Highlights from NPR (Neighborhood Public Radio) at MOCA's Engagment Party. "IN YOUR CAR" Day 2 of 3

www.moca.org/party/npr/

While MOCA generally encourages green transportation, NPR asks that visitors bring their cars to this event. FREE parking will be available in public lot 7; entry is accessible from Judge John Aiso Street.

In Your Car will feature two concurrent sound projects broadcasting on local frequencies, Park Park Revolution and Ping Modulation.

Park Park Revolution will be a composition “played” by cars parked in the lot surrounding the Geffen Contemporary. NPR will divide the Geffen lot into four sections, with each assigned to its own broadcast frequency. Directed into parking spaces, drivers will be instructed to tune in their radios and turn up their volumes to create a quadraphonic matrix of sound.

Under the canopy located at the Geffen entrance, Ping Modulation will pay homage to artist Robert Rauschenberg’s Open Score. For this project, NPR will outfit ping-pong tables with contact microphones and sound processors; as visitors match off in games of table tennis, the noise of their play will be fed to radio broadcasts that will transform their participation into sound art.

Through his unique view of light, Olivier Clausse describes himself as a creative worker and scenographer who constantly sharpens his relationship with the object. Backed by twenty-six years of experience in the performing arts, cinema and crafts, he has forged his own personality. Together with the Afro-American choreographer Nora Chipaumire, he has established himself as an international lighting designer. His minimalist stage designs and raw lighting were praised in 2012 by the New York Times for the piece 'Miriam' performed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Fresh Bread and Butter w/ selected meats per the Theory; in the kitchen, in the world; ℅ dream;

"I'm not sure it's that important whether the gold came from the inside or the outside, landed in cataclysmic quadraphonics like a spitball right outt'a the big bang. because the whole fucking ball of dark and fire and dust is just a giant bread loaf. we may see it from our prospective as a sesame seed on a cutting board, bombarded by the stellar flour sack, yeast comet, salt clouds, and then the fucking awesome power of some kneading karate chops -- not to mention the mind blowing cosmic furnace of a 350F oven. because it all came outt'a the same giant cow called mrs. big bang. some of it got delivered as milk. some of got delivered as cheese.

inside the bread loaf molecules are H-bombing and hurling through space, manifesting water and metallurgy vapors. about 3.5 billion years ago, (on a thursday), the theory is a mars sized bullet plowed into earth, (which was otherwise minding it's own business and attending to the chores of being nice, pleasant and totally unremarkable little planet), so hard it blew off a chunk that later ended up our moon. that's some godamm big ass cosmic ballistics. inside the bread oven it's the same thing about 40 million times a second.

fucking awesome. and then theirs fresh bread to eat, and ponder, and slather with garlic butter . . ."

There is a Gamma cycle; it moves at higher velocity in SF due to the waters; hence the off the charts Cosmicness of the place.

Per this hairball/sillysting theory.

Musicmagic is the seventh and final studio album of fusion band Return to Forever.

This album contains the final line-up of the band, with only founders Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke returning from the previous album. This is the first album since Light as a Feather (1973) to contain vocals, featuring Stanley Clarke and Corea's wife #GayleMoran. This album also marks the return of original member Joe Farrell on saxophone and flute, along with several new members making up a five-piece horn section.

In addition to the conventional two channel stereo version the album was also released by Columbia in a four channel quadraphonic version in 1977 as one of the last quadraphonic albums released by the label. In 2016 the album was re-issued in stereo on hybrid Super Audio CD by Audio Fidelity. It was re-issued again on SACD by Dutton Vocalion in 2017 containing both the quadraphonic and stereo mixes.

With the addition of trombonist Ron Moss, this lineup toured and recorded the live album Live (1977) which was re-issued in 1978 as a 4-LP set called Return to Forever Live: The Complete Concert.
