What would turn out to be the only time I would see the Q class, 30541 visiting from the Bluebell Railway, leaving Bewdley at Orchard Crossing, Northwood Lane on Saturday evening

Westrail liveried Q313 on trial from Western Australia leads 42207 and CLP8 on 6MA3 Patricks service through Belair on 25th November 2000.
Genesee & Wyoming had at the time recently joint purchased Westrail with Wesfarmers and later renamed in Australian Western Railroad.

During 2008 and 2009 the Koolynobbing ore trains had varied combinations and colour schemes before the influx of the new GE powered units . Powering through Stewart on a loaded ore from Koolynobbing is Q4016,AL3208,Q4009 on 17-11-08

After SCT007 failed on 5MP9 between Parkeston and Kalgoorlie with SCT015, Q4005 has just arrived to assist the train to West Kalgoorlie on 13-7-13
Today's last service train by Maunsell Q class No. 541 rounds the curve towards the remains of Town House Bridge before continuing its climb to Horsted Keynes and beyond. The low weak sunshine illuminating the loco, exhaust and train against the autumnal colours

During a short time in 2008, ARG hired a couple of SCT G class locomotives to help with a loco shortage. On 4-11-08 an empty ore train from Kalgoorlie to Koolynobbing cruises through Stewart with Q4008,G515,Q4010
Q4005 has just been added to failed 5MP9 which had stalled between Parkeston and Kalgoorlie to assist SCT015 and a dead SCT007 to West Kalgoorlie on 13-7-13
Q4009 stabled in the West Kalgoorlie yard on 17-12-14 displays the first ARG livery of Orange and Black from days when it was owned by G&W but now wears the later ARG logo after the 2006 sale.
Q4009 was originally built in 1997 as Q309 and remembered by ARG.
Q4001 is stabled outside of the Forrestfield depot painted in the Orange ARG livery on 6-7-08.
When delivered to Westrail the loco was numbered Q301 and painted in the yellow scheme

Distributive power units Q4018,ACB4404 are mid train on an empty ore train from Esperance to Koolynobbing approaching Wallaroo on 15-7-13
Q4006,Q4009,G512 are stabled between working ore trains between Esperance and West Kalgoorlie on 23-6-09.
At the time the SCT G class were on hire covering for a loco shortage
Another shot from a very brief visit to West Kalgoorlie yard on the afternoon of Saturday 14 August 2004. Iron ore trains running between the mine at Koolyanobbing and the port at Esperance had to reverse in the yard here.
Australian Railroad Group locos 4016/Q306 had arrived earlier with their empty ore wagons off the branch from Esperance, to the right, and are then seen departing on the Perth mainline for the mine.
Both locos are former Westrail Q class EMD-powered locos (model JT46C) built by Clyde Engineering in Australia in 1997. By this time the private owners were part way through the process of renumbering the class into the 4XXX series.

Q4010 Stabled at West Kalgoorlie on 17-12-14 displays it's ARG repaint after the split from G&W and QR takeover. 19 Q class were built by EDI Downer in 1997/1998 for Westrail numbered originally Q301 to Q319 and were remembered by ARG.

Q4002,AC4304 are taking the crossing loop at Stewart to cross MP9 SCT while working 025 goods to Kalgoorlie on 14-2-13
430 goods from Leonora north of Kalgoorlie has been put in the crossing loop at Stewart with Q4007 leading on 23-3-10
Q4005,SCT015,SCT007 stand between Parkeston and Kalgoorlie after Q4005 came out to rescue 5MP9 after SCT007 failed, the rescue attempt was short lived, with Q4005 only lasting a couple of hundred metres before become a failure and now wait for another loco on 13-7-13
Former Westrail locomotives Q308, Q317 lead ASR's CLP11 on 7AP4 Toll train as it crosses over one of the bridges at Mambray Creek on 24th February 2001.
In late 2000, Genesee & Wyoming (Australia Southern Railroad) and Wesfarmers jointly purchased Westrail in Western Australia forming Australia Western Railroad. Not long after, former Westrail locomotives started visiting South Australia on various trials.
