The classic kit. M2 with a 35mm f2.0, a back-up 50mm f2 and a later 90f2 on a heavily modified M3/M2 (M3 finder - M2 every where else). The 90 f2 is a later "Big Bertha" as the earlier ones were way to heavy.

Photographed August 218 / Kodak Monitor 620 camera with Kodak Special Anastigmat 101mm/4.5. Film was ILFORD DELTA 3200 PRO (re-spooled to 620) metered at ASA 1000 developed in PYROCAT-HD (5ml A + 25ml B > 600ml, 8min 15sec @ T=20*C). Negative was illuminated on a light box and 'scanned' using an iPad mini with the Film Scanner app & using a reference (zone V gray) negative to obtain 'correct' exposure. The image was processed & finished in Flickr. Image trimmed slightly and squared up.
When the sun is out and the leaves are green, it's time for infrared! My new favorite place to head for a little IR inspiration is a local metro park called Highbanks. With over ten miles of hiking trails, there's lots to explore (and maybe even get lost on!).
Today's shot comes from one of the most accessible river banks in the park. This location goes from zero to photo meetup after work hours, so one has to be quick finding a place to setup. Long exposures also help!

Extreme contrast - a case where you just stopped down fully and hoped for the best.
Here the grain of the Retropan is less intrusive, more or less melts in to the grainy wood and cobble stones.
Despite it being a flash back to Muddy York the TFSM checked out some great street art along the back alleys of Bloor Street then headed into High Park!

Photographed August 2018 / Yashica-Mat TLR camera with Lumaxar 7.5cm/3.5 lens. Film was ILFORD DELTA 3200 metered at ASA 1000 developed in PYROCAT-HD (5ml A + 25ml B > 600ml , 8min 15sec 20*C). Negative was illuminated on a light box and 'scanned' using an iPad mini with the Film Scanner app. Image was processed and finished in Flickr. Cropped & trimmed somewhat and then re-squared. The limitations of the iPad / light box scanning process are becoming visible here...but the image just about holds up!
After my first trip to Hocking Hills last April, there have been an additional 4 trips made, and it's all due to the scenery!
Having ventured up and down the Old Man's Cave Trail in Hocking Hills, I can't tell you how many times I've had to cross this lovely stairway. On my way back to the car after capturing the Lower Falls, the filtering morning light was practically begging for a picture. This is the result.
Believe it or not folks, the DR5 Chrome version of this has even more DMax, and I'd need a drum scanner to show you all its beautiful detail!

Ok, so the Nikonos can withstand inclement weather - but it is also a scale focussing camera - and at f2.5 you really don't have much room for mistakes!
The widest rectilinear lens that you can fit on a rangefinder - at least until the 10mm Hyper Heliar f5.6 is released later this month!. However, that is a M-mount or E-mount - so the 12f5.6 in Nikon F mount with the F-S adapter will probably remain the widest ever for the Nikon Rf's.

Some dogs live a charmed life! The owner is feeding him thinly sliced ham from Oyama's meat at the Granville Island Market. Talk about focused attention!
Japanese plum tree in full bloom! Spring is early and if Mother Nature treats us nicely, the Cherry trees should be early this year. This is at f1.8 - but a slight breeze kept shifting the branches a bit - so focus was all over the place.
There's nothing like taking a long hike at Conkle's Hollow state nature preserve on a late fall morning. This particular morning was cool, calm, and in the midst of a dry spell. Normally the back of the gorge trail has little waterfalls and pools forming, but nothing of the sort this trip.
The "uprights" framed up the dried falls and fallen pine in a way that just made sense. Do a falls need water to be an interesting subject?
