The hulking mass of masonry for the First Pylon at Karnak looms over the sphinx-lined processional route west to the Nile. The gate was added in the 30th Dynasty, during the last brief period of Egyptian self-rule in the 4th century BC, but never finished.
A renowned warrior from the distant planet Mechaniron, Pylon leads his legion of brutes into battle against all who oppose him.

I took this picture as i was cruising on my narrowboat in Staffordshire. I saw it coming and took the shot it as the cables and pylons aligned. I couldn't resist the challenge.
Crop to show catenary.
I could not stand quite square so to keep pylon central, crop is different on each side. Though I notice that the distant pylons do line up properly, so perhaps this first one at an angle in the line.
