Subspecies bengalensis-immatures in KolkataThis is a bird of scrub, open forest, plains and cultivated lands. It builds its nest in a bush; two or three eggs is a typical clutch.
Red-vented Bulbul is about 20cm in length, with a long tail. It has brown or black upperparts, with a white rump. The breast is brown or black, and the rest of the underparts are white apart from the red around the vent. The head and small crest are black.
Sexes are similar in plumage, but young birds are duller than adults. The flight is bouncing and woodpecker-like.
There are a number of regional variations in plumage, mainly with respect to the upperpart and breast colour. Red-vented Bulbuls feed on fruit, nectar and insects.
The Red-vented Bulbul is incapable of synthesizing vitamin C. It shares this feature with a very limited number of other animals, among which are certain fruit bats and primates (including humans) as well as the guinea pig.

Looks like the race gularis seen in India, which is minus the crest www.flickr.com/photos/lipkee/1543402250/
or the race caecilli seen further south on the Thai Malaya peninsula which is minus the orange colouring on the chin.
It is a common bird in the park, unfortunately not able to get close enough to get a sharp picture. Next time , maybe

學名: Pycnonotus taivanus Styan
英名: Formosan bulbul
Family : Pycnonotidae (鵯科). Length: 18cm.
The Taiwan Bulbul or Styan's Bulbul Pycnonotus taivanus is an endemic species of bulbul that lives in eastern and southern Taiwan. Though common in some areas, it has been listed as a species vulnerable to extinction. Its decline has been caused by habitat destruction and hybridisation with the closely related Chinese or Light-vented Bulbul Pycnonotus sinensis; the two species ranges overlap in several areas, partly because birds of the latter species have been released for Buddhist ceremonies. The species has already become extinct in Yilan County.
The Taiwan Bulbul has a very similar appearance to the Chinese Bulbul, but differ in the patterns on the head. The Taiwan Bulbul has a completely black crown with white feathers around its eye, except for a black moustachial stripe below the beak. Hybrids are intermediate between the two species, with the moustachial stripe and white feathers around the eye, but the white feathers extend behind the crown.
