Connected temporarily to show the colour of the digits. The pushbuttons are actually backlit, although in this particular photo they aren't. This was simply a first fitting to verify that all of the basics are okay - fully interfacing it all is the next step.

Among drag racing’s personalities, few were as well-known as “Dandy Dick” Landy, and this Dodge was one that helped put the California racer on the map. Considered by some to be the first “funny car” due to its wheelbase changes, this 1964 lightweight 426 Hemi Dodge 330 was delivered to Landy in early June 1964 and then won A/MP class honors at the “Hot Rod” magazine race soon afterward, the first big win for the Hemi package. After racing at the NHRA Nationals, Landy converted the wheelbase and moved the front wheels up 6 inches and the rear axle up 8 inches. This conversion was shown as feature stories in several magazines. Clocked at a 147 MPH best that year, the car was eventually rediscovered by Hemi collector Pete Haldiman, who owned it from the late 1970s until it was added to Todd Werner’s collection in 2015. Haldiman did the restoration over a period of years, leaving the changes Landy had made intact. Under the aluminum hood is an A864 Race Hemi package with correct K-code iron heads, aluminum cross-ram, dual Holley 770 CFM carburetors and Doug’s Headers. It is backed by a pushbutton-operated A727 TorqueFlite transmission and 8.75 differential. The body features factory aluminum and steel components modified by Landy and painted in his trademark Mercedes silver, with his extra pair of tail lights modification left intact as well. Inside this car, the original Landy interior features bright red lightweight Super Stock Hemi upholstery, an 8,000 RPM tachometer, pushbutton shifter, heater/radio-delete plate and upgraded gauges. Extreme care was taken to hand-paint correctly positioned lettering to the body, which retains its outrageous overall appearance that made the car very popular during its heyday. While the 1965 models have often been credited with the first use of the “funny car” title, this 1964 Dodge was the forerunner to that ideal, and to this day it remains a singular icon of the exploding evolution of drag racing in the 1960s.

Note triangle, "plus", rounded, flat and multi-lobed knobs for controlling radar display by touch. Also pushbutton radio channel select for whom the radar operator needs to speak with. There is only one, large, air-search radar on the Hornet, but multiple operator stations for using the data. Each station can separately track a particular target and read out its bearing and range. Not only the half-dozen in the CIC, but added units in a separate annex to an air-operations center, no doubt the bridge as well.

To make the shutter release work (which is the ONLY button on the Meike grip that will control the a55) I had to add wires directly to the shutter switch. The switch is a 4 pin pushbutton. I forgot to take pics while I had it all apart, but from this angle (looking top down at the shutter button), the white is ground (both pins on the left side), the brown (right side, furthest from the camera) is focus and red (right side, closest to the camera) is shutter release. I wired these to a 3/32" plug which I installed in the side of the Meike grip. This allows me to use the plug that came with the Ownuser grip until I have the chance to make a shorter one.
The driver is a BRM (1/24 slot cars) item, which I modified to fit the tight confines of the F1 cockpit, and then painted to match Kimi Raikkonen's 2007 driver's suit. The BRM helmet required me to make up a visor of sheet plastic, and then I hand painted the helmet in a slightly simplified interpretation of Kimi's '07 helmet design. Note the kit-supplied track diagram and carbon fibre decals on the cockpit side. Yes, I did use a photograph of the real steering wheel to get the right colours for all of the dials and pushbuttons. The first two antennae are made of fishing line and tiny photo-etched discs, and the front pitot-tube-like one is made of thin piano wire.

This Backend Filter module is no joke! Here's the first sneak peak of the prototype. But the second Macbeth module is more than just a filter, it also includes a three-input mixer and a dual envelope. Neat touches like the filter tracking amount knob, the individual filter response outputs, the final decay switch for it, the multiple envelope outputs and the momentary/hold pushbutton add a lot of functionality to this module. 330-PSA-286-60 (USN 710829): New Navigational Satellite. The Transit ground stations receive the Doppler data from satellite at T1. The data are corrected for the effect of ionospheric refraction and sent to a Computing Center which then calculates new orbital parameters for the satellite for several days in advance. This information is transmitted to an Injection Station, and twice a day as the satellite passes within range at T2, the Injection Station transmits to the satellite these new orbital parameters and a time correction. From then on, the satellite transmits once each minute the data received from the Injection Station (it transmits the other satellite signals continuously), When the satellite at T3 is within range of a ship with special receiving equipment, the navigator can by a simple pushbutton operation obtain the most accurate navigational fix ever before possible. California Street is a street that runs parallel to Mission Street in Santa Cruz.
The loop detectors do not detect bicycles at the intersection with Laurel Street. Instead of installing loop detectors that work, or cameras that detect bicycles, push buttons have been installed by Santa Cruz Public Works for cyclists to push to get the traffic light to turn green.
Naturally, the buttons are not placed near where a bicycle should be to cross the intersection, so when there is no other cars or pedestrians to trigger the light, a series of u-turn maneuvers is required to make the light change. Sometimes the light is green long enough to get turned around and through the intersection. Sometimes the light is not on long enough.
(The car that makes a right turn from westbound California to northbound Laurel doesn't stay at the intersection long enough to trigger the light change... with about 0:30 to go.)
All done, ready to install. It senses that power is available because the relay socket is spliced into the AC power line to the computer. The relay itself has contacts which are open when no power available, and close when power is supplied. They hold closed for an adjustable interval and then release. The contacts are connected in parallel with the front panel pushbutton for Power On/Reset and the "PWR" button on the motherboard.
It is just as if the power button was pushed and held when power was first applied, then released a brief while later. Of course, the computer starts up, boots, and goes about its business. Whether there is BIOS support or not.
The two power wires go to opposite ends of one side of the socket. The Common and Normally closed contacts have a red and black jumper to connect to the stake pins on the motherboard, and the green and white twisted pair connect to the cable from the "Pwr On / Reset" button on the front panel.
The relay operates on 100-240VAC, so whatever the computer is plugged into. (my lab uses single and split phase). Its precision delay length and repeatability are overkill in this application, but it's an easy and adjustable way to get in the game Trivial to build, easy to experiment with. Leave cost saving refinements for the next itteration.
For long-term, there needs to be a safety enclosure around the relay and socket. But for testing, we're good.
From what I can gather, this vacant building at 1905 Crawford (Houston, Texas) used to be a 6 story nunnery and then it was home to St. Peter's Syriac Orthodox Church. It has been vacant for many years, but still has running water, electricity, and climate controls.

Just for information.
The one on the left was one I bought not long after the product hit the shelves. Notice teh little slider switch for the on-off position.
The one on the right I bought last month and has a push button. Guess which I prefer. I've not had a problem with the pushbutton yet, but wait till its important that it all works, thats when it will have turned itself on in my bag and run out of juice.

1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia.
Classics Central auction, Bedford Autodrome -
"Pretty as a picture, this sensational right hand drive Karmann Ghia demonstrates a pleasingly high level of originality, especially its interior, whilst benefitting from a first-class paint finish and superb brightwork all-around.
Finished in “top hat” specification of black roof and white body over a black interior, the details are really what make this example stand out. From the “Karmann Ghia” script above the original-fitment Volkswagen pushbutton radio to the correct chromed wheel embellishers, the overall attention to detail on this motor car is exceptional.
A view of the underside of this car (below) demonstrates just how well-preserved and thoughtfully cared for this car has been. A UK-delivered car with a date of first registration of 8 February 1971, this is probably an unrepeatable time capsule of classic 1970s grand tourer motoring – an era of the exciting and the debonair.
The lovely Karmann Ghia shows just 54,500 miles and carries on its history file every MoT issued since 2006-2015, and is sold with an MoT to January 2017."
Estimate £12,000 to £14,000. Sold for £11,000.

What I consider a 'good' computer of any description should turn on and boot up automatically when power is connected, if desired. I can't get my brain around why you'd want a computer that requires human touch before it starts working. Yet plenty of inexpensive systems have no "power restoration" or "power on" setting in their BIOS or anywhere else.
Here's my first take on a solution. I've got a nice industrial control relay that works on 100-240 VAC, spliced into the power line connected to this computer. The relay has a contact which closes when power is applied, then opens after a settable delay.
I wired that contact in parallel with the On/Reset pushbutton on the computer front panel, and so any time it gets power, it gets what seems to be a 'button push" as well, powers up and boots. Done. The red and black cable leads to the PWR stake pins on this motherboard.
Who would want this? Well, let's say you'd like your important computer to turn back on and keep doing whatever it was doing after a power failure. Or you might be running complex software on the computer and need to do a "PG&E" reset if it gets really, really, lost.
The only drawback is that this lovely adjustable delay relay cost about $80 and the socket is about $10. These are professional tools, after all. So step two is to find a cheaper way.
