DPU bringing up the rear of a long string of tanks. Crockett California

Friday birthdays are always in short supply and there is strong need to capitalize on them - particularly when one gets into their middling years. As this evening rolled around, the first order of business was opening a bottle of Pinot Noir. As the rain held off, taking a walk around the neighborhood to grab some shots seemed a good way to unwind.

Normally traffic on portions of the Chicago River are quite docile as is usually expected. So as this barge and tug plowed through the neighborhood and leaving quite a wake behind, it was an uncommon sight.

From a technical standpoint, this old lens has been stopped down for sharpness and depth of field. It sharpens up quite nicely from its dreamy state at full aperture.

Enjoy!

Not exactly a great photo but I've uploaded it for its operational aspects. I was driving down Highway 1 and chasing the intermodal on its journey through the Thompson/Fraser Canyons and attempting to get a few miles ahead of it for yet another photo. I saw a few people stood on a bank at the side of the road, at least one with a tripod and everyone with cameras in hand. Curiosity got the better of me and I stopped to see what they were doing. On climbing the bank I was faced with the Rocky Mountaineer in front of me on the opposite side of the canyon and about to enter a tunnel immediately before the trestle bridge you see in the picture. At the same time, the intermodal was passing directly below us. By the time I had grabbed my camera the only shot possible was this one. The RM can be seen crossing the CP bridge in the foreground as the pusher (ES44DC no. 2245) of the intermodal is just about to clear the CN steel arch bridge, the train coming towards the camera. 20th September 2016 at Cisco, BC.

I decided that I wanted to use my new mini mannequin to help portray a cliche.

The expression comes out of the U.S. Air Force test pilot program of the late 1940's.

The envelope refers to a plane's performance capabilities. The limits of the planes ability to fly at speeds and altitudes and under certain stresses define what is known as its performance envelope. It's an envelope in the sense that it contains the ranges of the plane's abilities.

But now it's an overused phrase in business...

its funny. How one minute life is great, the next minute it sucks again. Its funny how parents can treat one child one way, and another child in the complete oposite.

Its funny how people can make you hate them so much, that you just cant stand to see their face anymore. Its funny how some people see you as being old enough to leave you on your own, whilst

they leave you to go to another country, left to fend for yourself, yet, you arent old enough to get married. Its funny how some people are just pathetic. Its even worse when some people are your parents.

Yeah, im not in a good mood, you can probably guess by reading that. Infact, i hope my parents read this and realise that what they are doing is unfair, and wrong. And infact, if they bothered to stop for one moment, and just

ask me how im feeling, they'd see all the anger, the stress, the worry and the hurt that i lock up inside and hide from them. I hope they read this and realise that they are hurting me and pushing me away.

These holidays suck. They are boring and slow, and im fed up already. Just need to find somewhere exciting to go, even if its just for a day.

anyways, rant over.

Me and chloe went for a walk yesterday. The sun was setting, and i had a long exposure of the beach planned. But me being me, we got there and the tide was out. So we went for a little walk instead.

30 mins, 4 cold hands, 40 crappy photos, 20 cold toes, and 1 soaking wet foot later, we went home. This was the best of the bunch. Not great eh? If you've actually read all of this, then well done! let me know and

i'll fav/comment/testimonial you or something xD

Although the thought is nice, id rather a simple link to the group.

La Push, 14 miles from Forks, is home to the Quileute Tribe. Tribal members built cedar canoes that ranged in size from two-man to ocean-going freight vessels capable of carrying three tons. They ranked second only to the Makah as whalers, and first among all the tribes as sealers. Special woolly-haired dogs were bred, and their hair spun into prized blankets. According to the stories, the Quileutes only kin, the Chimakum, were separated from them by a great flood that swept them to the Quimper Peninsula on the other side of the North Olympic Peninsula, where they were wiped out by Chief Seattle and the Suquamish Tribe in the 1860s. First official contacts with the white man occurred in 1855, when the Quileutes signed a treaty with representatives of Territorial Governor Isaac Stevens. A treaty a year later would have moved them to a reservation in Taholah, but the Quileute territory was so remote it was not enforced. In February 1889, an executive order by President Grover Cleveland established a one mile square reservation at La Push which, at the time, had 252 inhabitants. While villagers were picking hops in Puyallup, the town was destroyed by arson in 1889.[4] -- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Push,_Washington

•The truth about Yosemite: www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/Sexual-Harassment-Common-in...

King Bolete mushrooms have been up for a few weeks now; around 9,000 feet. With the different altitudes; we have an extended season with the different species. These mushrooms get huge; have a nice solid texture and great taste. They are so versatile to cook with. In the fall we have the Boletes, Candy Caps, Lions Main, Chicken of the Woods, Oysters and Chanterelles. I’m sure I forgot a few.

This batch: I sautéed in a Merlot Wine (cooked the alcohol off), Kalamata Olive Oil and a touch of butter.

I found more yesterday; sautéed them in Amber Ale, Olive Oil and a touch of butter. I added them to a marinara sauce, sliced charred smoked sausage and onions, served over Fettuccine.

I spent the day in Yosemite and Curry Villages today. It’s literally embarrassing to watch the way many of my coworkers and other employees of Yosemite, conduct themselves in the presence of our guest. These parasites care not if they jeopardize the health and welfare of our guest and their children, along as they harass their target.

I’ve received a lot of retaliation at work, in housing and throughout Yosemite National Park, for speaking out about Gang Stalking, Community Based Stalking and Workplace Mobbing. These are cowards hiding behind their administrative and management positions, using halfwits and simpletons that are easily persuaded and intimidated; to perform immoral and illegal acts. This may sound a little harsh, but the truth often can be.

Help us bring Social Change through Photography; bring awareness and stop Gang Stalking, Community Based Stalking and Workplace Mobbing. We are trying to make these changes one community at a time. So, here is a contact page for Yosemite National Park: www.nps.gov/yose/contacts.htm. Once on this page; click on ask a question or make a comment. This is your National Park please take the time to contact them; tell them to put a stop to Gang Stalking, Community Based Stalking and Workplace Mobbing.

These immoral and illegal acts are allowed in Yosemite National Park by Law Enforcement, encouraged and performed by its Contractors.

Strong Viking Mud 2016

Another Class 70 diesel locomotive I didn't expect to see today here then as Freightliner Intermodal Class 70016 hauls train 4O55 from Leeds F.L.T to Southampton M.C.T the loaded intermodal train one of a number that run throughout the day 4O55 here been the afternoon working leaving Leeds at 13:12 anyway not so much been the afternoon when the train arrives in Southampton and the boxes are taken onwards across the globe far and wide the train here been near enough full the Class 70 Powerhaul diesel locomotive up front a General Electric built locomotive and part of its Powerhaul family see's 30 current units in the UK, Freightliner operating 20 while Colas have 10 so far with an option of 10 the Freightliner option of 10 pretty much dead and quiet without any extra units been purchased or so it would seem anyway. The train here arrives at Swinton, South Yorkshire outside Rotherham and slows to a stop with Sheffield 466 signal ahead at danger while a Cross Country Voyager speeds past working a Newcastle to Reading service the unit seen in the background as it rounds Mexborough Curve and powers up to gain speed down towards Sheffield the train running about 5 minutes late here as it passes around 13:11 the Class 70 arriving from Leeds around on time although running late since its departure it had caught up to timetable here the powerful engine been able to do 75mph while also been able to haul the heavier trains with Freightliner Heavy Haul without a second thought. The Class 70's have been split between Freightliner's Heavy Haul & Intermodal divisions since they arrived in 2012 and continue to be split between both however with a slight push on the intermodal division with only around 5 currently working with Heavy Haul this one, 70016, have already been given the modifications at Brush Traction, Loughborough others are currently having done now which will hopefully again improve reliability of the Class type.
