Visiting Moraine Lake was one of my dreams. I was unable to visit this gem of Canadian Rockies during the previous two trips due to lack of access. The road to the lake is only open during the summer months. It was so great to finally visit this lake in June 2019 and enjoy nature in its purest form.

La Real Colegiata de Santa María es un conjunto monumental situado en la localidad de Roncesvalles (Navarra, España), considerado como el mejor ejemplo navarro del gótico, al más puro estilo de la región parisina de la Isla de Francia. Su construcción fue impulsada por el rey de Navarra Sancho VII, el Fuerte quién deseaba, al mismo tiempo, le sirviera de lugar de enterramiento como finalmente fue. Se levantó a principios del siglo XIII y acogiendo entre sus paredes una preciosa imagen de la Virgen del siglo XIV. Ha sufrido varias reformas y reconstrucciones tras varios contratiempos siendo la reconstrucción del siglo XVII la que afectó a todo el conjunto especialmente a la iglesia y claustro.
Hoy la iglesia presenta una planta de tres naves, la central de doble anchura que las laterales, que se dividen en cinco tramos a los que hay que añadir en la nave central una cabecera pentagonal; las laterales terminan en recto. El sistema de soportes está compuesto de pilares cilíndricos que separan las naves de grosor alternante, se apoyan en una basa y rematan en capitel decorado con doble faja de crochets de tratamiento muy simple. Los pilares sirven de apoyo a los arcos formeros apuntados y a las columnillas que soportan las cubiertas. Sobre los arcos formeros corre el triforio, formado en cada tramo de la nave central por cuatro arquillos apuntados sobre columnillas con el mismo tipo de capitel, galería que da paso sin elementos de separación al óculo en el que se dispone como único elemento decorativo una secuencia de arcos apuntados. En la cabecera se abren grandes ventanales decorados con vidrieras coloreadas modernas fabricadas en Alemania.
Preside el templo una magnífica escultura de la Virgen de Roncesvalles. Es una talla de madera, forrada de plata, gótica, de mediados del siglo XIV y realizada en Toulouse. Transmite a la perfección el espíritu gótico en lo que tiene de cercanía, naturalismo y familiaridad.

The Royal Collegiate Church of Santa Maria is a monumental complex located in the town of Roncesvalles (Navarra, Spain), considered the best example of Gothic Navarre, in the purest style of the Parisian region of the Isle of France. Its construction was promoted by the king of Navarre Sancho VII, the Strong who wished, at the same time, to use it as a burial place, as it finally was. It was erected at the beginning of the 13th century and it houses within its walls a beautiful image of the Virgin of the 14th century. It has undergone several reforms and reconstructions after several setbacks being the reconstruction of the seventeenth century which affected the whole especially the church and cloister.
Today the church has a plan of three naves, the central one of double width than the lateral ones, which are divided into five sections to which a pentagonal chancel must be added in the central nave; the lateral ones end in a straight line. The system of supports is composed of cylindrical pillars that separate the naves of alternating thickness, supported on a base and topped with a capital decorated with a double band of crochets of very simple treatment. The pillars support the pointed former arches and the small columns that support the roofs. Over the former arches runs the triforium, formed in each bay of the central nave by four pointed arches on small columns with the same type of capital, a gallery that gives way without separating elements to the oculus in which there is a sequence of pointed arches as the only decorative element. In the chancel there are large windows decorated with modern colored stained glass windows made in Germany.
A magnificent sculpture of the Virgin of Roncesvalles presides over the temple. It is a wood carving, covered with silver, Gothic, mid-fourteenth century and made in Toulouse. It transmits to the perfection the Gothic spirit in what it has of closeness, naturalism and familiarity.

No doubt Mustang purists would not refer this as a "muscle car" in the purest sense, Ford Motor Company's Mustang II was a popular sales model for the company.
The ultimate Mustang in 1978 was the Mustang Cobra and this sample was decked out with fancy racing stripes, a hood scoop, front air dam, rear spoiler, black window accents, rear side window/hatch Louvres, chrome wheels, and white lettered steel belted radial tires. It doesn't have ID badges per se, but I assume there is a 302 V8 under the hood. I hope so, anyway.
My little brother graciously offered himself as a non paid model, pictured at our local Ford dealership on Jan. 21, 1978.

The last one it would seem. As One Air 747-400 G-UNET departs DSA as the last 'cargo' flight out of the airport which is now set to close by the end of this month. A disgraceful decision driven by the purest form of corporate greed.

Espinaréu is a corner of the council of Piloña preserved from the passage of time in the interior of the Sierra Bedular. A place to get lost and be trapped by the magic of the Principality of Asturias, in which to feel the purest essence of these lands through the most deeply rooted tradition and the most genuine landscapes that this fairy tale region evokes in us.

My Kodak Gold 100 Color Negative film is deteriorating. The color is shifting. I prefer the Monotone conversion anyway. The Purest position is if it was originally shot in color, then conversion is somehow a failure. I don't believe that at all, which is one reason I'm not accepted by the cool kids and their mind traps of accepted artistic expression. I say that the negative or unprocessed digital file can be considered similar to a musical score. The processing is the performance of that score and can be done differently every time.

As one of the world’s purest and oldest sheep breeds, Icelandic sheep are strong and sturdy animals with beautiful, thick coats. Long-used in Iceland for their meat and wool, the sheep that exist in Iceland today are direct descendants of the sheep brought to the island nation by early Viking settlers.
With around 500,000 sheep and only around 370,000 humans, it’s safe to say there are more sheep than people residing in the Land of Fire and Ice.
The absolute beauty of nature in its purest sense comes to life when it seems about to die; when the summer has waned and the fall is in full swing. The leaves are losing their colour and the oranges and reds are bursting forth with majestic beauty. I often stand in the midst of the forest in awe of creation and all its beauty. .
The clouds obscured the sun straining most of the daylight into a diffused dull glow, the trees which were vibrant with change seemed defiant of the dim light displaying their muted beauty as the cool stillness caused the clouds to settle as fog lightly over the entire scene.

Much of what I remember about our time in and around Buxton was the animated discussions on the subject of Lee’s proposed new venture. Dave seemed keen on the idea and was ready to lend all manner of support, from both technical and end user perspectives. By the end of our few days patronage of the town’s rather wonderful branch of Morrison’s they’d between them sampled just about every type of pork pie on offer at the delicatessen counter. Branston pork pies, cheese and pickle pork pies, Melton Mowbray melt in the mouth pork pies and many others that I didn’t even know existed were the leading topic of conversation as we idly set up our tripods at places such as the field with the abandoned barn at the end of the Roaches Road. “Pocket meat,” as comedian, writer, eternal novice angler and national treasure Bob Mortimer calls such offerings. Always good to have a supply of pocket meat around tea time on these long days out in the hills when the sun goes down well after nine in the evening. Dave’s wife is a vegan and he doesn’t get out much, so a week of unsupervised access to a wide range of products that are usually off limits found him particularly enjoying his lot. What with the pocket meat counter and the all day breakfasts in the café, we barely looked beyond our favourite supermarket for supplies. Amid all of this excitement, Lee declared a YouTube channel dedicated to reviewing pork pies was exactly what the general population needed. Maybe other similar snack based products too. Would Squarespace sponsor that?
More recently, it’s occurred to me that our latest fad at home could also make for a vaguely plausible small screen subject to satisfy the nation’s gastric fervour. Several years behind the curve as usual and in true Uncle Bryn mode, we’ve finally discovered the “come and grab it before it goes in the bin” app and are currently in danger of needing to change up a few sizes in the wardrobe department. Food that’s on the verge of being jettisoned by local businesses, rescued and consumed while it’s still just about in date at bargain basement prices. Because the outlets don’t know exactly what’s going to be left over each day, you have little idea as to what will be in your surprise bag. A degree of mystery that I'm going to guess may not suit the likes of my vegan sister in law - at least not unless there’s a plant based option anyway. So far, we’ve had several carveries from one of our local pubs, half a tonne of pastry based items from a bakery around the corner from Ali’s parents, a bewildering supply of gluten (but definitely not sugar) free cakes from a swanky place over near the leisure centre, and a collection of sandwiches and snacks from a universally recognisable coffee chain outlet up at Chivvy near where the roundabout on the A30 used to be. Even Morrison’s Café is on the app. It just gets better and better doesn't it!
You should have seen the size of the very delicious pasty I had for lunch on Saturday, just one of a collection of goodies that Ali paid the princely sum of four quid for the previous afternoon. I've just been told there are two more pasties, a large sausage roll and a (she's not completely sure about the ingredients) beef and horseradish pie in the freezer. And eight bread rolls. Her parents swiped the steak and kidney pie and two slices of coffee and walnut cake, while we shared the slice of chocolate cake. Every time either of us reserves a deal via the app, a message pops up thanking us for helping to save the planet, because of course we’re not doing this for ourselves. Altruism in its purest form. Maybe Lee could be the anchor in the café at Morrisons, switching once per episode from Dave's latest vegan pork pie revelations at Gloucester Services, to his roving cheapskate correspondent, currently trawling the pasty shops of Redruth and Camborne with a handful of small change in his pockets. To the fading theme tune at the end of each show, the three increasingly chubby stars might be seen labouring their way up St Agnes Beacon carrying an array of heavy camera equipment as they attempt to burn off a million pastry soaked calories.

I'm reading poetry again. Maybe I'll write some more, happier perhaps, although melancholy has always been my muse. This couple is not the "hottest" or most romantic looking in the world. Still, love is love. This poem is for them. I hope it worked out well for them. And I think this is "Gary" the fellow with the sheep, so it fits.

Tiny is a township, part of Simcoe County in south-central Ontario, Canada. The Township of Tiny can be found in the Southern Georgian Bay region and is approximately 43 miles long or 160 square miles.
The township was named, in 1822, after a pet dog of Lady Sarah Maitland (1792-1873), wife of Sir Peregrine Maitland, Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada. Two other adjoining townships were also named for her pet dogs, Tay and Flos (now Springwater Township).
The history of Tiny Township reflects its three founding cultures: Native, French and British. Located within Wendake, the historical homeland of the Huron people, the region is closely tied to early missionary exploration of the region, including the Jesuit mission of Sainte-Marie among the Hurons in nearby Midland.
The township is also the location of an important archaeological site, the 17th century ossuary of the community of Ossossane, the capital of the Huron Confederacy.
In 1798, the British government purchased the land in the area and soon after established a naval base at Penetanguishene. By the mid 1800s, families from Quebec began moving to the Tiny Township area for the cheap and fertile land to farm.
Today, the Tiny Township area is still very much a bilingual (French and English) area of Ontario, and is one of 25 municipalities in Ontario designated for bilingual government services under the French Language Services Act. In honour of the region's French history, Lafontaine hosts the annual Le Festival du Loup, a festival of francophone music and culture which celebrates the death of a wolf that terrorised the village in the 1800s, which takes place in July.
Lafontaine was originally called Sainte-Croix (French for Holy Cross) due to many large crosses found in the area that were planted by the Jesuits. It was renamed Lafontaine to honor the politician Louis-Hippolyte Lafontaine, one of the early Joint Premiers of the Province of Canada.
Tiny contains an artesian well that produces some of the purest spring water in the world. Many residents were concerned that a proposed garbage dump over the aquifer would contaminate the water, and a series of protests achieved a one-year moratorium on the dump.

In a small valley in the Peloponnesus, the shrine of Asklepios, the god of medicine, developed out of a much earlier cult of Apollo (Maleatas), during the 6th century BC at the latest, as the official cult of the city state of Epidaurus. Its principal monuments, particularly the temple of Asklepios, the Tholos and the Theatre - considered one of the purest masterpieces of Greek architecture – date from the 4th century. The vast site, with its temples and hospital buildings devoted to its healing gods, provides valuable insight into the healing cults of Greek and Roman times.
