PINK AND BLUE – KITSUNA

– dedicated to the warm beauty of Summer

Why do I love the pink so much

when the sky is blue

I love to watch the sun go down

and turn my thoughts to you

I feel your hand in mine

even when you've gone

I sit here waiting patiently

quiet as the setting sun

the chill breeze wraps around me

a cloak of discontent

a momentary lapse in thinking

it tries to circumvent

I feel my cheeks blush pink

yet I am feeling blue

I wish that you were here

I hope my wish comes true

I hear a little butterfly

fluttering overhead

I know it sounds absurd

but I thought it once flashed crimson red

perhaps it caught the brightest rays

that lit it's gentle wings

the last ones; remainders of the day

blend seamlessly and bring

reminders; memories; a blessing dear

that lightens up my heart

and frees me from the loneliness

that fills the void while we're apart

someday we'll find each other again

and I'll be sat here waiting

and I will be in the pink my dear

and all my blues fade; dissipating

bathed in the pink; anticipating.

Also known as the “Blue Lake”, Lake Annecy (French: Lac d'Annecy), at the heart of the Savoy Alps, takes pride in being one of the cleanest and purest lakes in the world because of strict environmental regulations introduced in the 1960s.

It is the third largest lake in France, after the Lac du Bourget and Lac de Grand-Lieu, if the French part of Lake Geneva (which is also partly in Switzerland) is excluded.

Lake Annecy was formed 18,000 years ago, when large alpine glaciers melted. It owes its reputation to its extraordinary location, which has been the inspiration of many artists. The impressionist painter Paul Cézanne (1839-1906), inspired by the light that bathes the site and is reflected in the turquoise water, immortalised the lake with his renowned oil painting, Le Lac bleu (the Blue Lake) in 1896.

I took this view from the top of Slieve Donard in the Mourne Mountains, Co. Down. N.I. This place really gets to you. I mean it gets to you more than other similar places. Its a difficult climb too. It rises continually from sea level for 4 miles [5.5miles slope distance] to a height of 849m and the terrain is difficult, consisting of roughly flat topped boulders of varying heights laid as paving slabs. They are hell on the knees and the legs too, and just when you cant go any further, you arrive at the Mourne wall. Its straight up another 400 yds alongside it to the summit and the ground is rough and incline increases to over 40 degrees. As a friend of mine says " Your legs start screaming at you! " as they have had enough. Enjoyable though as when you reach the top you are met with this amazing view.

Funny, that you meet people here of all ages, all nationalities and from all walks of life and none of them seem to do it as a challenge but because they are somehow drawn to the place. We met a young local man who had been camping overnight. He said his Dad had passed on recently and he used to take him hiking up here all through the years so he decided to come and stay overnight in memory of him. Thats very special. Isnt it funny how people seem to want to tell you things that they normally keep to themselves when you meet them hiking up on mountains for some reason. They do say that not alone is it good for the body but its also good for the mind as well. I certainly agree with that.

Of course then there is the beautiful song. Its the sweetest thing as it talks about a time long past of the mostf wonderful gentle innocence and of the purest love that none of us, no matter who, wouldnt desire, but that only the very lucky ones ever find.

I do hope you like the picture and if you are ever this way, do go and explore the place as you will be truly captivated.

Best wishes.

Here are Tulips from the so-called Fosteriana Group. That group of Tulips is named for the renowned Iris expert, Michael Foster (1836-1907). As far as I know, it was first described in 1906 on the basis of specimens collected in Central Asia, more specifically Bukhara, on the behalf of famous Dutch bulbs' nurseryman Cornelis Gerrit van Ubergen, jr (1845-1939). Experts on the plant were Johannes Marius Cornelius Hoog (1865-1950) and Walter Iriving (1867-1934).

There are today many hybrids and cultivars most of them quite large.

When I step into a wilderness on foot, it feels as if Ihave been transported back to a primeval world, untouched by human hands. This one lies in Montana--a designated wilderness where nature endures in its purest form. There are no roads, buildings, or machines here--only raw landscapes shaped by wind, water, and time. We are merely passing through, brief visitors in a realm that remains as it has for centuries, protected so its beauty and solitude can outlast us and be treasured by generations to come.

Sitting on the balcony in the fragrant freshness of an early morning in May .....sipping coffee ....hearing the sweet music of the songbirds .... & seeing the innocent faces of the violas in full bloom ...

Sometimes the quiet & simple joys are the purest joys of all :-)

Thanks for the visit ..... have a nice day :-)

The town starving due to drought and swarms of locust brought about old ancient customs that should have been left in the past.. They picked among the beloved daughters for a sacrifice... they picked the purest untouched soul....little did they know she would come back... Longing for love... or revenge.

My heart's a lonesome island

Disaster lines it's shipwrecked shore

A fleet of souls that thought they'd found

What they'd been searchiing for

But your treasure maps were lying

There's nothing gold beneath my sand

Don't let the sea convince you

That its safer on my land

You might be a skillful sailor

With nothing but the purest aim

But I have fought so many pirates

That you now all look the same

So, take heed of my lighthouse

Even waves break on my rocks

There's a reason not a single ship

Has made it to my docks

And I wish I could offer shelter

From those storm clouds in my sky

Because you've not made it ashore

But you should know, neither have I.

Make It Rain - Ed Sheeran

When the sins of my father

Weigh down in my soul

And the pain of my mother

Will not let me go

Well I know there can come fire from the sky

To refine the purest of kings

And even though

I know this fire brings me pain

Even so

And just the same

Make it rain

Make it rain down low

Make it rain

Oh make it rain

Make it rain

Make it rain down low

Make it rain

Make it rain

The seed needs the water

Before it grows out of the ground

But it just keeps on getting hard

And the hunger more profound

Well I know there can come tears from the eye

But they may as well be in vain

Even though

I know these tears come with pain

Even so

And just the same

Make it rain

Make it rain down low

Make it rain

Oh make it rain

Make it rain

Make it rain down low

Just make it rain

Make it rain

Even the purest hearts are drawn to it

Such a great day. Fall gives us happy and colorful moods. Warmth can come from the colors and warmth can come from moods created by Nature’s purest beauty. Letting go of the pain we may feel may not be an easy thing to do. I feel I can lose myself in beautiful music, comforting words and good conversation. We shouldn’t give in to loneliness and pain because it’s inevitable in life. We can find techniques to cope with most anything. Thanks for viewing my work.

After forty-five minutes of flight, it's time to return to dry land. To brake the aircraft, it is necessary to activate the deflectors, which create an aerodynamic barrier on the wings. In addition, just before the approach, the pilot can perform a “glissade”, a kind of skid in the air that reduces altitude while maintaining low speed, ideal for little.

As it arrives on the runway at low speed, less than 70 km/h, the glider stops a few meters after touching the ground. The ability to make short landings is one of the requirements for obtaining a license to fly gliders. The pilot needs to prove that he is capable of performing a safe landing in a space 30 meters long. This experience is necessary in case the driver needs to make an emergency landing in remote regions.

The experience of flying aboard a glider is the purest and simplest concept of flight, the closest a man can get to being a bird. It is a mixture of peace, due to the almost absolute silence in the cabin due to the absence of an engine, with the excitement of flying.

PS Filmed from Glider's cockpit by me.

The phone warmed up several times and stopped working. I had to put it outside to cool it.

Beverley Minster is only seven miles from Hull and its the nearest architectural masterpiece I can visit . One of the purest examples of the English Gothic style in my opinion

Beverley Minster, otherwise known as the Parish Church of Saint John and Saint Martin. It is one of the largest parish churches in the UK, larger than one-third of all English cathedrals and is regarded as a Gothic masterpiece.

A fire in 1188 seriously damaged the minster and the town. Much of the church was damaged and complete rebuilding was required. The work would continue until 1420

Western Brook Pond - Gros Morne National Park

Always learning something new...I had never heard of Ulta Oligotrophic until visiting Western Brook Pond.

Information quoted below is taken from signs at Western Brook Pond, Gros Morne National Park.

"When you peer into the depths of this lake you see nothing. Scientists describe the waters of Western Brook Pond as ultra oligotrophic. This term comes from Greek words meaning "very low in nutrients". Although oxygen rich, the pond's cold waters support only a few slow-growing plants and animals.

One of the Purest Lakes in the World

Most of this water comes from clear, cold, mountain streams. Resistant bedrock, a small drainage basin, sparse plant cover, and limited human use give Western Brook Pond some of the purest water on the planet.

Resistant bedrock: The granitic rock of the Long Range plateau erodes slowly, producing very little sediment. So the water of the pond contains only low levels of the nutrients required by plants. Small drainage basin: More than twenty streams empty into the pond, but many are small and flow only in spring. The area drained by these streams is tiny compared to the volume of water in the pond.

Sparse plant cover: Glaciers left the top of the Long Range a rolling landscape of rock barrens, tundra, and alpine forest. The thin plant cover adds little organic matter to colour or cloud the water.

Limited human influence: The pond's wilderness setting has spared it from pollution by agriculture, settlement, and industry. Until the 1970s there were no permanent facilities here.

Neutral pH: This is not an acidic lake, even though some of its streams drain bogs, and natural rainwater is slightly acidic (about pH 5.6). Water from Stag Brook, the largest feeder stream, is buffered by limestone bedrock and keeps the pH of the pond approximately neutral."

Big but Fragile

All across Canada, national parks strive to protect wild places from development and economic exploitation. Western Brook Pond is just one feature of our natural heritage that must be preserved forever for Canadians to enjoy. But pressure from increasing use makes it vitally important that each of us help to preserve the pond's beauty and purity.

Slow flushing: The pond is particularly sensitive to pollution. Its only outlet is Western Brook, and it takes about 15 years for the water in the pond to be completely changed

Wind-stirred water: It looks as though pollution here would drain out the brook to the sea. However, strong winds mix the surface waters, and any pollution will spread throughout the pond.

Last of its kind: This is one of the last wild, ultra oligotrophic lakes in the world. Once lost, it can never be replaced."

Along the way.

Good angels brought her back to a last Nepal summer.

Debased, hollow-faced, a smile might become her.

Now she's cosied up, cosied up and comforted

In the warm flush of september.

Gone before winter.

Wondering as to might-have-beens.

Somebody's daughter in sanctuary, waiting.

Seen through softer cage of kindness,

far and further still away,

From time-warp victorian zoos

Where staring ice cream gameboys play.

Big paws, worn claws and swishing tails.

More damaged goods in the market sales.

Too proud for anger, too late for hate: resigned in dignity.

The magnificent Cathedral on the Bayou was built in the late 1920s. Is it not fine to walk in spring,

When leaves are born, and hear birds sing?

And when they lose their singing powers,

In summer, watch the bees at flowers?

Is it not fine, when summer's past,

To have the leaves, no longer fast,

Biting my heel where'er I go,

Or dancing lightly on my toe?

Now winter's here and rivers freeze;

As I walk out I see the trees,

Wherein the pretty squirrels sleep,

All standing in the snow so deep:

And every twig, however small,

Is blossomed white and beautiful.

Then welcome, winter, with thy power

To make this tree a big white flower;

To make this tree a lovely sight,

With fifty brown arms draped in white,

While thousands of small fingers show

In soft white gloves of purest snow.

One of the many deer trails regularly travelled and far more obvious in the winter. The temperatures have happily moderated (it is now 15F/-15C) to the point where one is encouraged to go out and enjoy the fresh air...which shall be done immediately after this posting. In addition, a very light and pleasing snow has been falling consistently all this windless day, again (and finally) blanketing the trees and displaying that singular beauty when every branch and evergreen needle is highlighted in purest white.
