Not quite sure if this is my favorite Liberty print as I have quite a few favorites ...
Yet, it's quite lovely and soft and suits my current "sewing" mood (peaceful, slow and blue sewing)
The selected pattern is O+S Puppet Show Tunic because I just realize that my little girl is growing out of this pattern very fast ...
According to Merriam-Webster, "cherry picking" is 'to select the best or most desirable.'
I've been cherry picking through all the many fun jobs that need to be done in my classroom. This theater for my Red Riding Hood story finger puppets was my latest distraction.
Now I better get back to work on all those other jobs!
Wayang Kulit is a popular shadow puppet show in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, especially those in Kelantan and Terengganu

Get a Clue with The Puppet Lady, Nitsana Lazarus. The kids enjoyed her interactive puppet show that was fun for the whole family!

The Santa Clara Valley Water District brought Elmo and Grover to the library for a puppet show. Everyone enjoyed learning about water conservation from these two popular Sesame Street characters.

You have to admit the evil hippie cult leader has style. And I love that mascara.
I made this pretty red and white dress for Lucy to wear on Christmas Day 2011. The pattern is the Puppet Show dress from Oliver and S. I love the cute details in this dress especially the collar and the buttoned sleeves (see detail shot). The fabrics I used were some white and red quilting cottons along with the scallop print from Bonnie and Camille's line Ruby, I love the way the print creates a stripe/dot effect across the horizontal of the dress and continues in the sleeves. After making this dress twice I am happy to say that I have improved in my button hole making skills and all nine of the buttons on this dress were sewn only once!
Puppets are one of the oldest sources of entertainment through which the artists narrated stories of kings & gods.

The artiste beats on his drum (traditional Rajasthani drum is called the 'dhole') while the traditional Rajasthani puppet show gathers steam. (Pune/ Poona, Oct. 2008)

And here is his co-drummer, on the other side of the stage. Note puppet show going on in the background. The drummer is beating on the 'dhole' or the traditional Rajasthani drum. (Pune/ Poona, Oct. 2008)
Spring is back at Pataphysical Studios, where we spent another lovely Saturday afternoon, making art together and exploring new dimensions across space and time.
This week, we developed our Time Machine and started work on our new Dada exhibit:
• Dr. Rindbrain showed a new mockup for the Time Machine viewing frame
• Dr. Max and his family came to experience the magic of the art garden
• Dr. Canard posed by the pataphysical flag and sanded her music box
• Dr. Phylora picked up her new pataphysical badge and caught up with the group
• Dr. Truly brought blank canvases and art ideas for the new Dada exhibit she is producing
• Dr. Tout d’Suite picked the Alfred Jarry canvas as her art project for the Dada exhibit
• Dr. Fabio picked the Gidouille canvas and worked on the Crazy Clock prototype
• Dr. Canard picked the Eye/Hand canvas as her art project for the Dada exhibit
• Dr. Figurine picked the Apostrophe canvas and worked on her theramine
• Dr. Skidz picked the Ubu canvas and pitched a duck phone for the Dada exhibit
• The Queen of the Desert shared her research on Dada and time travel
• Drs. Rindbrain, Really and Igor installed the back wall for the Time Machine
• Dr. Fabio showed Dr. Canard how to shoot a video interview with Dr. Rindbrain
• Drs. Zboon, Fabio and Figurine discussed a puppet show for the Dada Exhibit
Making art with friends brings new light into our lives and brightens the world around us.
Fire in the hole!
