Not sure if this ticket-booth facade is a newer addition (and by that i mean in the past couple years) to Pinocchio. I think its jolly good fun though.
The North Pole Review! presented by the Fratello Marionettes wowed the audience with their amazing puppetry. The show was a wonderful way to enjoy the holiday season!
Théâtre Guignol poster at Café Le Lion in Ebisu! This was quite a flashback from my childhood, as I often watched this stick puppet show on TV. Turns out the café's owner also likes Guignol.
There were a few other Guignol posters too.
Nitsana Lazarus brought her exciting interactive puppet show to the Friendswood library and entertained two groups of children!

I made this sweet little dress for (soon to be) 3 year old Allie, the daughter of a friend of mine www.flickr.com/photos/emedoodle/ . Her favorite color is violet and she loves handmade dresses so I knew what to make her and easily decided to make the adorable Puppet Show Dress from a pattern by Oliver and S. This was my first time making this pattern and I have to say I am very pleased with the finished product. I used quite a few pins to make sure that the sleeves attached correctly but in the end they were beautiful and worth the extra fuss. I had NO PROBLEM making all 9 button holes on this little sweetie as I have switched from using my machine's automatic buttonholer to the manual setting (much more control is better in this area). I can see many more of these in my future! If you would like to see pictures of Allie in the dress hop on over here www.flickr.com/photos/emedoodle/5965563328/in/photostream/ thanks Emily for taking great pics of your cute girlie :)

Traditional children's entertainment, Punch and Judy. A cold wet Saturday, many of the displays where canceled to to the bad weather.
Many regional variants of Pulcinella were developed as the character spread across Europe, first as a marionette, then as a glove-puppet. In Germany, Punch is called Kasperle or Kaspar while Judy is "Grete". In the Netherlands he is Jan Klaassen (and Judy is Katrijn); in Denmark Mester Jackel; in Russia Petrushka; in Romania Vasilache; and in France he has been called Polichinelle since the mid-1600s. A specific version appeared in Lyon in the early 19th century under the name "Guignol"; it soon became a conservatory of Lyon popular language. Wikipedia

Up on the hill top overlooking Rome we can across an old fashioned puppet show. It was run by a husband and wife team who have been doing this for 50 years. A woman in the audience who was there with her young daughter commented that she had watched the show when she was a child. (Claudia translated!)
In England we call it Punch and Judy. Though through political correctness it no longer takes place in many places as it is considered too violent (adults never give children credit for knowing what's real and what isn't)
The puppets above were for sale
Yup, so i"m already slacking on the project using James' phone to sneak in my shot! But this was ingredients to a chicken broth I made. First time in years, like a decade haha! Some foodies may know that the broth came out super spicy because of this Serrano's seeds. Yikes. My stomach seems fine with it so far though. Fingers crossed because I'm having it for lunch again tomorrow.
today: Aside from cooking broth from the closest to natural ingredients you can get... Practicing our puppet show at work... We got some work to do before the big debut in 2 weeks! :I
