Portrait Street - nel AD1398 Un salto indietro nel tempo, fino al Medioevo.

A step back in time, until the Middle Ages.

One of several "sites of meaning" sculptures in the limestone dales of the Derbyshire Peak District. This sculpture is generally referred to as the "sheep dip sculpture" as it is built into the wall of an old sheep wash along the River Bradford at the head of Bradford Dale.

ORIGINAL TEXT (Parts missing)

"In late May or June / The farmers brought their sheep / To wash their fleece / In this deep pool / Burbling, bumbling, bleating / The waters bleat like the flock of sheep it dipped / Dip your ghosts into this hard, cold merky place / Hear their bleat in the water's rush to escape / The foam, the wool pulsates / Damp leaves nothing behind but the trees' readiness".

No escuro da mata a gente vive e balança.

O vento lambe nossa pele, esvoaça o cabelo

alivia o calor que pulsa

mesmo no escuro

um desejo

de criatura da noite

de saber o que é estar sob a luz

e sentir os lampejos solares

à vista da grande divindade

a queimar as retinas profundas de meus olhos

se sou mulher

sou noite.

Filha de uma lua que brilha por si só, sem o Sol.

E é o seu brilho gentil que me acolhe.

to know what it is like to be in the light

and feel the solar flares

in the sight of the great deity

The Blue Springs nature reserve - a landscape nature reserve located in the south-eastern part of Tomaszów Mazowiecki, in the Tomaszów poviat, in the Łódź voivodeship. The reserve is located in the buffer zone of the Sulejowski Landscape Park, which is part of the Nadpiliczne Landscape Parks complex.

The reserve was established to protect the picturesque blue karst springs and to preserve the refuges of numerous bird species. On its territory there is an alder forest which is their refuge. The reserve also includes the strongly pulsating limnocrene-type springs that give rise to the Jana River. Their charm lies in the fact that the sand is knocked out of the bottom by the sand, which when seen through the water surface has a unique blue-blue-green color, the shades of which depend on the weather, the degree of sunlight or cloud cover . Pure water from calcareous springs absorbs red rays and lets blue and green rays reflected from the bottom, which can be observed.

In the heart of a dense, ancient forest, where the trees whispered secrets and the air hummed with magic, there lived a fantastical gypsy. Cloaked in an air of mystery and adorned with enchanting attire, she wore the irrISIStible Fortune Teller Full Outfit with Skin + Accessories, a garment that seemed to have been woven from dreams and stardust. Tailored for both Legacy and Maitreya, the outfit bestowed upon her an aura of otherworldly elegance, making her presence in the woods even more enchanting.

Her attire was a vibrant tapestry of colors – a blend of blues, purples, and yellows that harmonized with the natural hues of the forest. Adorned with intricate accessories, each piece told a story of ancient wisdom and mystical knowledge. Her skin, touched by the glow of the woodland spirits, radiated a gentle, ethereal light, making her seem like a living embodiment of the forest’s magic.

But the gypsy was more than just a vision of beauty; she possessed a profound connection with the mystical forces that dwelled in the woods. Among the ancient trees stood the irrISIStible Gypsy Wagons + Furnitures and Anim 2023, their shades of Blue, Purple, and Yellow blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. These magical carriages were not just inanimate objects; they were living entities, pulsating with the essence of the forest itself. Within their ornate interiors lay a world of wonders – aromatic herbs, shimmering crystals, and ancient artifacts, all carefully curated by the gypsy.

Located amidst the whispering leaves and rustling branches, the irrISIStible Shop was a haven for seekers of magic and wonder. It was here that the gypsy’s creations came to life, where the Fortune Teller Full Outfit and the Gypsy Wagons found their way into the hands of those who longed for a touch of the fantastical in their lives.

Visitors from far and wide would make pilgrimages to the irrISIStible Shop, drawn by the allure of the gypsy’s mystical offerings. They marveled at her attire, enchanted by the vibrant colors and intricate details. The wagons, with their bewitching shades, captured their imaginations, inviting them to step into a world where reality and fantasy merged seamlessly.

The tale of the enchanting gypsy in the woods spread far and wide, carried on the whispers of the wind and the songs of the birds. She became a legend, a symbol of the hidden wonders that the world held for those who dared to believe in the fantastical. In the heart of the ancient forest, where the mystical and the mundane coexisted, the enchanting gypsy continued to weave her magic, reminding the world that sometimes, all it took to experience wonder was a little belief and a dash of imagination.

If you see the auroras pulsate and flash across the sky and your neck is stiff and sore, then you know you've had an exceptional night under the stars.

Pulsating aurora: high-energetic precipitating electrons, causing blinking patches of light below 110 km, sometimes down to an altitude of 70 km.This broad range of altitudes indicates a large range of precipitating electron energies during a pulsating aurora. The colors are from the green to pink when it's going lower in the atmosphere. The horizontal size of such an aurora ranges from 10 to 200 km with a pulsation period of a few seconds. birkeland.uib.no/pulsating-aurora/

In the cold, metallic expanse of a high-tech chamber, the Cyber Priest stood alone, the reflective surfaces of the room amplifying the glow of his intricate clothes. Cradling a pulsating cyberball in his hand, its surface shifting through vibrant hues of color, he prepared to offer his benediction. With a voice imbued with a soothing digital resonance, he spoke, "May the algorithms of your life be ever in harmony, and may the circuits of your heart pulse with unyielding clarity."

If you stare at the sun for a while it will start pulsating!

I’ve wanted to photograph the Scot’s Pines which stand guard over the eastern shoreline of Buttermere for some time now. You’d think it would be easy, right? Just look on Google earth, read some of the photography forums for directions and set off in a timely fashion. But after two failed attempts, the last involving the flickering light of a child’s torch, some special mud from the non-feeding end of a sheep and a complete failure to understand that sunrise doesn’t occur at “about 6am” all year round, I was becoming disillusioned. Although I knew that Buttermere was so spectacularly beautiful that even just accidentally dropping the camera would probably result in a picture that I was happy with.

And so I persisted.

And one morning, armed with an up to date appreciation that sunrise was at 8am on that particular day (don’t laugh, I’m usually a sunset kind of person), I found myself on the shoreline just before dawn, lightly wrapped up against the chill and excited at finally being able to create the image I’d imagined.

Except my imagination had failed to check in with reality. Or with the weather forecast. Or with the large mountain behind the trees which was providing a very effective barrier to both the rising sun and my plans.

And so I waited. In the cold. With no gloves.

Now, I learned a valuable lesson about keeping the blood flowing to one’s fingers on the shores of Loch Lomond a few years ago. And that is- it’s perfectly acceptable as a man to warm your hands by placing them in a certain anatomic position provided that a) there is no one else around and b) there is no one else around. It is entirely not acceptable on suddenly noticing a fellow photographer behind you to withdraw them from their rather snug hidey hole and proffer one as a gesture of greeting. Especially to someone of the opposite gender. This, I’m sure you would agree, is a bad thing.

And so, having again adopted the special hand warming technique as I waited for the sun to rise above the mountains, I was acutely aware of an early morning dog walker approaching. Mindful of my previous experience and concerned that my stance could be in any way misinterpreted, I busied myself in composing a shot, not expecting to do anything other than offer the illusion of taking some images until I could resume my waiting in peace. And at that moment the sun, which had been scrabbling up through the morning air, crested the mountains and bathed the slopes in light. It lasted maybe a few minutes until the cloud cover diffused the energy- a few minutes in which the autumnal colours seemed to pulsate with life. A few minutes which I would surely have missed. And then it was gone….

They say that luck favours the prepared. I’m sure that’s true but sometimes it also favours the unprepared. And those just warming their hands.

Something began pulsating when they injected me and in my head I thought it wouldn't be long and I would soon be in the daylight. I was being given instructions and counselled patiently, by voices, and I could not move. I was staring at this picture projected on the wall, this picture of you I had taken when you were sitting on the couch at our house. I was so afraid and alone, and I wanted to touch you… I remember tracing your smile on the wall, your eyes, the mellow descent of your nose… lost in your face as my mind was slowly dissolving and being laboriously recomposed elsewhere… the shreds and islands of silver under my hands, fused in my reluctant and paralysed disbelief, memories of you like rain thought my eyes. Something began pulsating when they injected me and in my head I thought it wouldn't be long and I would soon be in the daylight.

Composite of 6 x 15 seconds shots shows the waves of light in movement across the night sky. The pulsating lights characteristic of the Aurora Borealis were not evident in our part of the BC, I only detected them by the difference in colors I was picking up in each independent shot. By combining the series of shots you can see the movement more clearly.

This was one of those moments when I wondered if the camera could capture what I was seeing. The main light caught my eye with a subtle iridescence radiating outwards and pulsating with an energy like a Van Gogh painting.

There might have been a lot of factors at play here, cold damp air, my long sightedness, and although this is a decent enough shot, even with editing it doesn't come close

Well, this now is the Start of presenting the second Half of the 188 Hongkong Photos Series. All these Photos have been taken in May 2017 during a one Week`s Stay in this pulsating City.

We find ourselves in a place so divine,

Where relaxation and good times align,

At our favorite spot, our hearts are entwined,

Immersed in deep beats and rhythms so fine.

A relaxed vibe embraces our weary souls,

As our spirits dance to the music's controls,

In this haven, our worries and stress dissolve,

Lost in the melodies, our spirits evolve.

The beats that pulsate, oh, how they enthrall,

Guiding us on a journey, we heed their call,

Smooth rhythms serenade, enchanting us all,

In this sonic paradise, we stand tall.

With each note that resonates, we're set free,

A symphony of sounds, like waves in the sea,

Our worries and troubles, they cease to be,

As the music surrounds us, we're filled with glee.

So let us revel in this tranquil retreat,

Where deep beats and rhythms make our hearts beat,

In this go-to spot, where joy and peace meet,

Immersed in the music, our souls find their seat.

Two luminous disk-like eyes appeared above the rim. A huge rounded bulk, larger than a bear, rose up slowly, glistening like wet leather. Its lipless mouth quivered and slathered, and snakelike tentacles writhed as the clumsy body heaved and pulsated...

Northern Lights photographed from a mountain top in northern Pennsylvania, USA.

Think I'll call this one "Christmas in October" for several reasons. First the colors and secondly I consider being able to see them a wonderful gift. They are really that amazing IMO!!!

I had missed several of the other solar storms we've had this year, so when this one was forcasted I began looking for the closest dark sky area I could find along with weather forcasts for matching clear skies. Then I searched for a location with elevation so I could have a clear unobstructed view, and of course the view had to be to the north with clear visibility to the east and west as well. This was almost as challenging as the long drive there.

I finally decided on this mountain top in northern PA and commited to the long ride to get there and back home.

The research paid off and I picked what I think is or at least was a stellar location. We began seeing them well before it was completely dark, a term often referred to as astronomical twilight (90 minutes after sunset).

I spent almost seven hours on top of the mountain and got to witness what I think was the best part of the show.

It varied in intensity during the night from rather weak to deep pulsating bands of color. So I think patience is a photographers best friend with these types of solar storms.

Below is a little information on the

Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis if you prefer... I've been asked by others what causes them, so I thought I'd try and describe the events to the best of my limited knowledge. Please feel free to correct anything I get wrong or add anything I might have missed.

The term aurora borealis comes from the names of two gods one Roman and one Greek. Aurora, the Roman goddess of dawn, and Boreas, the Greek god of the north wind.

They are caused by Coronal Mass Ejections or CME's for short. The science behind them is fascinating.

I have read several news feeds describing them as being created by Solar Flares, which seems incorrect since there is a big difference between the two.

A Solar Flare is a sudden burst of radiation and light from the Sun's surface, essentially a flash of energy, while a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is a large cloud of charged particles and magnetic field expelled from the Sun's corona, essentially a massive burst of plasma that travels through space

The relict we discovered and brought to the temple recently has proven to be highly interesting. While its form looks organic at first, it was definitely artificially constructed. We did not dare to touch it, yet, but first analysis revealed it to be slightly warmer than room temperature. It seems to emit a slight glow at all times, which seems to be pulsating in a way. Research suggests it is at least a few thousand years old and some of the markings scratched into the outside suggest its has been involved in the Mandalorian wars to some extend. The most unnerving thing however is how it feels in the force. It almost feels… alive in a way. The force is in turmoil whenever it is around. My master and me are now preparing to meditate and grasp the traces it leaves in the force. Maybe this will be the key to both, past and future of the force.

Log entry of Padawan Jonastan Kirmund, one day before he and his master fell into a comatose force trance, which they have not woken from until today

I am back! I assembled this little vignette months ago, but only now got to take photos of it. More builds are on the way though, with a big one coming up mid march!

This image from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope captures the spiral galaxy NGC 105, which lies roughly 215 million light-years away in the constellation Pisces. While it looks like NGC 105 is plunging edge-on into a collision with a neighbouring galaxy, this is just the result of the chance alignment of the two objects in the night sky. NGC 105’s elongated neighbour is actually far more distant and remains relatively unknown to astronomers. These misleading conjunctions occur frequently in astronomy — for example, the stars in constellations are at vastly different distances from Earth, and only appear to form patterns thanks to the chance alignment of their component stars.

The Wide Field Camera 3 observations in this image are from a vast collection of Hubble measurements examining nearby galaxies which contain two fascinating astronomical phenomena — Cepheid variables and cataclysmic supernova explosions. Whilst these two phenomena may appear to be unrelated — one is a peculiar class of pulsating stars and the other is the explosion caused by the catastrophic final throes of a massive star’s life — they are both used by astronomers for a very particular purpose: measuring the vast distances to astronomical objects. Both Cepheids and supernovae have very predictable luminosities, meaning that astronomers can tell precisely how bright they are. By measuring how bright they appear when observed from Earth, these “standard candles” can provide reliable distance measurements. NGC 105 contains both supernovae and Cepheid variables, giving astronomers a valuable opportunity to calibrate the two distance measurement techniques against one another.

Astronomers recently carefully analysed the distances to a sample of galaxies including NGC 105 to measure how fast the Universe is expanding — a value known as the Hubble constant. Their results don’t agree with the predictions of the most widely-accepted cosmological model, and their analysis shows that there is only a 1-in-a-million chance that this discrepancy was caused by measurement errors. This discrepancy between galaxy measurements and cosmological predictions has been a long-standing source of consternation for astronomers, and these recent findings provide persuasive new evidence that something is either wrong or lacking in our standard model of cosmology.

Sorting Dunlin into subspecies is not easy but this one shows all the classic features of a British-breeding schinzii. It is short-billed, and has relatively pale rufous upperparts without a contrasting grey hindneck. The fact that it was on an upland reservoir right next to Dunlin breeding habitat is also another good pointer. There were two birds together and they were "singing" with that beautiful, pulsating trill that they make on the breeding grounds: xeno-canto.org/908418

I was very excited to see these pulsating auroras filling the sky when I got up for work this morning. Not a bad view from my backyard.

The great View from from Corcovado down to the pulsating Megacity Rio de Janeiro.

I stopped by the newly renovated Westinghouse Fountain late one afternoon last fall and was fascinated by the pattern in the tree reflection. The fountain wasn't on full, just enough to move the water - and when it would pulsate, it made streaks in the reflection. I thought it was fun and maybe we could all use some fall color :-)

In any event the scent to follow is on Nature's path

no moon nor sun can distract this wholly wonderful bypath

for once the clouds dance, no longer the lath of the sky

racing Cumulus heartbeats pulsate with Winter to decry

rejoice at last in the hearty hinterland of Spring merriment

only a step is enough to partake in humble sequent...

so are you at the ready, light the Olympian beam of March light

across that horizon so steady yet squirming to one's eyesight

it awaits the vision clearing the way for Spring-omened warmth

that encouragement to be digested with a tizane so roomth

replenished hopes a plenty can the play of light march any further?

yes, it is assured, this ubiety clings to truth like birds of a feather,

we are one instilled into the silence of evolving swings of season

you hear in yourself the shadow of time gravitating to the edge of reason

apparently helpless we're bisected into bystanders of elements stage

watching, applauding and then partaking with the gift to engage

here we stand with gusto as the doors open for Earth's dramaturgy

every day a serial recorded into the motherland's divine hierourgy.

Although it can sometimes come as a bit of a shock, if you are inclined to go rambling in otherworldly places, you should not be surprised to sometimes encounter…well…fellow travelers; some of whom may require your assistance.

This particular individual came hurtling my way - literally out of the blue - in the form of a dull black orb that, coming nearer, took on the appearance of a seriously scuffed bowling ball that emitted a crackling, buzzing, nexus of sounds similar to something one might hear while having their teeth cleaned next chair over from a distressed rattlesnake getting a root canal.

Hovering before my startled eyes, the orb vented a jet of counter-clockwise flowing fibrous substance that resolved into a pulsating, slowly rotating, ribbed corpus; as of a spiral galaxy, contrary to all accepted physical law, emerging from a black hole.

Next a bilious cyclone of material shot down from one side to form a stabilizing appendage, while on the other, similar material spiraled tightly upward in a sparkling translucent cloud that coalesced into a shape at first resembling a cosmic cattle prod, but which I quickly realized was more reminiscent of a levitation wand (similar to those comically primitive versions sometimes seen at raucous social gatherings on Earth, but more apropos to the technologies and space/time considerations of certain other areas of the universe).

And at that point the purpose of the serendipitous encounter was, of course, easily understood.

Having missed the correct connecting space/time tunnel (sometimes referred to as a ‘wormhole’ ) between its version of the multiverse and ours due to a slight but significant miscalculation of the Dark Matter Correction Factor, but more importantly, having neglected to reset its Celestichron to ‘Simulverse’ rather than ‘Chronoverse’, the hapless (and no doubt overaroused) soul had simply become disoriented and confused while on its way to see The Spheres (whose gig - once you have found your way - is everywhere at once, and has neither beginning nor end).

This rookie mistake being easily resolved, the relieved creature (with an exuberant salutary twirl of its wand) soon reassembled and was happily on its way.

(But, {*Oh*} The Spheres! Sort of like music, only so much more!! {*Sigh*} Heavenly!!!)

Last word on the astro events for Sunday Aug 11: Perseid Meriorite Shower between midnight and dawn. I set my camera up at 11 to get an early start - one meteorite passed my way but there were odd pulsating waves and unfortunately a fair amount of cloud cover - but what the heck I went through the whole process of setting polar clock etc I let the recording go until 1 am. It wasn't until today when I viewed what had been captured that I saw the Northern Lights in full bloom, So bonus on the lights, negative on the meteorites. I will try again tonight hopefully it will be clearer. Composite to two images.

BTW for those interested in the technical part - I started with camera setting f.28 and ISO-125 but while the noise cleared up the image was too dull. Later when processing in LR I found I made the right decision moving up to 400 ISO for more vibrant colors as the 125 ISO remained dull and not usable. I mounted the camera on Star Adventurer 2 to allow longer exposures. This was aimed into the Milky Way so an abundance of stars show up - which I did manage to reduce in PS..

♫♫Led Zeppelin - Rock and Roll♫♫

Ambre and Ronnie's life has undergone a seismic shift, a complete metamorphosis fueled by the raw energy of rock and roll. Gone were the quiet evenings and predictable routines, leaving behind the ashes of their former quiet lives.

Now, every night was a vibrant explosion of sound and motion. Dancing with her Ronnie and smiling as they were spinning across the MAD Club's dance floor. Leather clothes has become her uniform, a second skin that screamed rebellion and confidence.

Club life was a constant adrenaline rush, a kaleidoscope of flashing lights, pulsating rhythms, and the intoxicating scent of sweat and desire. The music was a living, breathing entity, thrilling them to their core and fueling their every move.

Riot Girls’ popularity has been blossoming and they both felt a whirlwind of attention. The stage lights felt like a warm embrace, melting away any insecurities. This is new reality, a life lived on the edge, fueled by the primal beat of rock and roll.

(to be continued...)

Devoted to my Ronnie, a talented and amazing musician who touched my heart deeply with Love ღ

A bellying glob of orange gelatin-like substance was pulsating on the mold infested wall. This dollop of unidentifiable material looked like an infected boil, if it were full with an egg yolk, ready to burst at any second. Poking the substance with my finger caused it to jiggle back and forth as the goo swirled around inside, protected by the outer translucent sac. I felt like I was looking into some type of demented snow globe, naturally I had the urge to break it. I picked up a rusty metal coat hanger from the ground and straightened out the hook into a suitable prodding device. Slowly, I applied pressure to the glob with the far end of the coat hanger, yet the sac refused to burst, instead the rubbery material conformed around the metal hanger.

When I pulled the coat hanger back away, the bulbous blister slowly inflated back to its prior shape. Determined, I poked around the mysterious substance for second try, this time being a little less gentle. With a stabbing motion I was able to pierce the outer fleshly layer of the boil and in response the cyst popped like an over inflated balloon, excreting tiny particles of orange ooze in all directions with the force of a human sneeze. I looked over at my friend standing directly to my side as he jumped backward in horror, but it was too late for the sludge misted the left side of his face. Instinctually he grabbed the bottom of his shirt and wiped the material away from his eyes.

The gooey mass remaining attached to the wall began to sag, excreting the remainder of the inner eggy matter as it slowly dripped down the wall. The orange ooze appeared quite vicious, mimicking the texture of maple syrup, but there were no pancakes in the world I'd dare lather this special sauce over. I joked with my friend as he clearly took the brunt of syrup surprise, fortunately he appeared to be in good spirits as we both laughed over the unexpected outcome. However, a couple days later I received a text message from my friend stating that his left eye was completely swollen, inflamed with a similar blister like sac of goo as to what was on the wall. A doctor told him it was a bacterial infection and with some antibiotics the contagion would clear up. Fortunately, in a couple weeks time his sight returned the the infection dissipated.

I've learned never to play with unidentifiable wall blisters again. I've also come to realize that Preakness Healthcare Center was by far the most disgusting abandonment I have ever explored. The place was more black mold and fuzzy fungus than it was an actual building. In my youth I didn't quite realize the health hazards Preakness truly encapsulated. Unfortunately, in years past I've heard similar horror stories from other explorers who have been stricken near deathly ill from wandering the mold infested halls at Preakness. Here's to a hell hole that faced a welcome demolition for once and here's to future good health!

Damn thing ate my camera!

Boracay is a tropical island about an hour's flight from Manila in the Philippines. Its long white sand beaches rival the best beaches of more popular destinations such as the Caribbean, the South Pacific as well as neighbouring Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Facilities are available to suit different levels of activity. For those wanting to just lounge around and take in some rays, beach-front hotels usually have lounge chairs set up just a few steps away from the hotel entrances.

Facilities for the usual water sports activities such as sailing, wind surfing, snorkeling, diving and jet skiing are also widely available for those in search of more active pursuits. The fun in Boracay also doesn't end when the sun sets. Boracay nightlife is pulsating with many bars and restaurants serving food, drink and fun until the very late evening.

Grog’s bulging veins throbbed beneath his thick skin, a pulsating echo of his heart pounding in his chest. His eyes were clouded, his pupils dilated with feverish excitement.

The Crypt of Kings, a legend whispered around campfires, and its elusive treasure had haunted him night and day for decades. He had scoured the darkest depths, faced the most monstrous creatures, all for this day. His trembling hands gripped his weapon a little tighter at the sight of the massive doors finally standing before him.

A rosy glow filtered through the crack, a promise of unimaginable wealth. The solitary orc, teetering on the edge of insanity, was about to cross the threshold, driven by an insatiable thirst for gold and glory.

New Yorker Foto “Lunch atop a Skyscraper”.

The artist studio Lechnerhof, run by Christel and Laura Lechner, developed the innovative installation made of concrete exclusively for the Wandelhalle in Hamburg Central Station in their art series Everyday People. It is called “Gate to the World” and was inspired by the world-famous New York photo “Lunch atop a Skyscrapers”. The calm everyday people seem to be sitting there comfortably, letting their legs dangle and watching the pulsating life of the station. The sculptures symbolize the diversity and internationality of the guests at the main station - from travelers and tourists to commuters and residents. They invite visitors to pause for a moment, experience a special encounter with everyday life and become part of art.
