Pulls Ferry from Riverside Road, Norwich
A former watergate, the architect Cecil Upcher restored it and the house beside it in the 1940s, and then lived in them. Upcher's memorial is at Upper Sheringham, along with several centuries worth of Upchers.
After pausing for photos on Oxier Creek Bridge, Clinchfield 800 & 3632 struggle to get Y101 moving again on the wet rail, with the 3632 really showing & sounding like it. What made today's train special was not only the appearance of Clinchfield 800, but for the first time in close to two years, EMD SD45 3632 was running & powering a train. With me being a sucker for any engine with a 20 cylinder motor, I was admittedly foaming quite a bit here over the sound of that engine just screaming & puking it guts out to get the train going again. With the weather for the day & the two motors up front, it really did feel like we were out on the Clinchfield. 12-31-20

This magpie pulled on the metal resting post to set the feeder swinging... did it help him?

Not so bird-brained!
Pulls Ferry is located on the River Wensum and is one of the most famous landmarks in Norwich, Norfolk. It is a flint building and was once a 15th-century watergate. It was the route for the stone used to build Norwich Cathedral. The stone came from France up the rivers Yare and Wensum. A canal, specifically built by the monks, used to run under the arch, where the Normans ferried the stone and building materials to be unloaded on the spot.
The building is named after John Pull, who ran the ferry across the Wensum from 1796 to 1841. It was previously known as Sandling's, after a seventeenth-century predecessor. The ferry operated until 1943.[1]
The ferry house adjoining the watergate was built in 1647. Both house and archway were restored in 1948-9 by Cecil Upcher

Amtrak Northeast Regional 165 pulls into Old Saybrook passing the passenger station built in 1873 by the New Haven Railroad. This building recently received an extensive renovation and will be around for years to come.
The longitudinal north railway. During the end of the 1800's and the end of 1970s this was the most important way to move people, goods and the most important commodities of the time (copper and saltpeper) to the different ports across the coast and connect main north cities and towns to the capital of the country Santiago. But since all operations stopped, all the infrastructure that survives (stations, rails, tunnels, bridges, etc) were left abandoned so in most cases are just for remembering how old, well built and big everything was at one point of the time. Some of this bridges are the reason why I'm considering more travelling to Valpaiso, Coquimbo and Antofagasta Regions in the near future to capture all this abandoned pieces of history for Chile, like in this past travel I did to Pichidangui where I stopped in La Ligua to take this photo. This iron bridge in particular was built in 1909 to 1910 and it's around 150m long and it's now a pedestrian bridge for the people who lives around it.

Zipper pull on an Absolute brand foil fencing electric vest. The metal fibers seen running through the vest allow for automatic scoring of touches.
The pull is 2cm long.

I decided, in boredom, to explore this ring pull (from a brewdog's punk IPA btw) in macro. Kind of happy with how this turned out.

Pull it, pull it!
Just after landing. You need to pull it down right to pack it right.

St Mark's Square in Venice is famed for the Campanile, the Doge's Palace and.... and of course the pigeons. Here a young lady has paid a Euro for a packet of bird seed and found herself flocked by pigeons.
I miss shooting classic CSXT GP40-2s here but this was kind of cool and who knows if it will happen again.
More than six months ago these pseudo Rio Grande units showed up in New England delivered by CSXT to the Grafton and Upton. I I caught them coming in seen here: flic.kr/p/2kvD55R/ but hadn't seen them since. Initially it was hoped they would be new lease power for the G&U, but soon it was learned that they were only coming to North Grafton for PTC installation and testing before heading to Metro North allegedly for use by a third party contractor doing fiber optic installation along the RofW.
For more than six months they have just sat and the protracted installation process took place, but this week they were seen out on the road being tested in regular service by the G&U. Unsure how long they will be around or how much they will be used, when I heard they would be making a run to Bellingham I knew I had to drop what I was doing and go try for a few shots.
After starting at Old Upton Road I chased them to North Grafton where they paused briefly to drop their four cars. From there it was a light engine run to Milford to swap ends and head down the old New Haven branch toward Blue Linx to pull one empty.
While not original Rio Grande units they wear the latter day black and orange that is a reasonable facsimile of that road's last paint scheme and similar to modern day Wheeling and Lake Erie. Owned by Precion Locomotive Services LLC of Staunton, VA PNLX 2107 is a Wabtec/MPI MP20GP acquired from the Union Pacific where it was their UPY 2107. Rebuilt in August 2006 as a low emissions unit for service in Texas it was originally an EMD GP50 blt. Nov. 1980 as Missouri Pacific 3504. PNLX 9619 is a GMDD GP40-2LW originally blt. Aug. 1975 for the CN with the same number.
Here the GU1 crew has arrived at their destination at the Bluelinx lumber distribution facility, and they are separating the power before picking up the one empty RBOX that they will take back to North Grafton sandwiched between the two units.

for my friend kerouac's ghost
Pull my daisy
tip my cup
all my doors are open
Cut my thoughts
for coconuts
all my eggs are broken
Jack my Arden
gate my shades
woe my road is spoken
Silk my garden
rose my days
now my prayers awaken
Bone my shadow
dove my dream
start my halo bleeding
Milk my mind &
make me cream
drink me when you're ready
Hop my heart on
harp my height
seraphs hold me steady
Hip my angel
hype my light
lay it on the needy
Heal the raindrop
sow the eye
bust my dust again
Woe the worm
work the wise
dig my spade the same
Stop the hoax
whats the hex
where's the wake
how's the hicks
take my golden beam
Rob my locker
lick my rocks
leap my cock in school
Rack my lacks
lark my looks
jump right up my hole
Whore my door
beat my door
eat my snake of fool
Craze my hair
bare my poor
asshole shorn of wool
say my oops
ope my shell
Bite my naked nut
Roll my bones
ring my bell
call my worm to sup
Pope my parts
pop my pot
raise my daisy up
Poke my pap
pit my plum
let my gap be shut

This is a very rare Traction Avant of German production. The quality was better in many ways than the French, because a certain percentage of the parts had to be of local production. This example was found in 1992 in East Berlin, and was literally pulled away before the scrapping excavator could grab it... Since then the state hasn't changed, sadly.

Going through shots from last year and came across this IR one from Middleton Top from last September.
That's the slogan on the hood of LA&L C420 #420 and pulling is just what she's doing, and pulling hard! 41 cars are tied onto the drawbar of the 423 as the two Alcos grind their way north out of Avon, NY heading for Rochester.
Once more through a few strings been pulled the heavy Forest Marauding DRS Special 37/7 is back at Dove Holes.... seems everytime i put "Farewell" etc... she comes bites me in the bum.... anyways will be up to greet her soon as usual.
Above pic, 716 before dropping down to do an absolute stonking pushback to the wall for final loading, i recall from my footage it took around 15 minutes to get the train back up in to D.H!! Let happy slippery winter days commence once more :)
