Another shot of St Pauls in Wellington catching the light. I had it hanging around as ive really struggled processing it. Ive changed the HDR to black and white cause i just cant get the colours right. for some reason as it was saving to the desktop it crashed the whole computer - i thought it was gone, but on the restart it reappeared in an odd place(maybe my computer telling me not to upload) oh well here it is...

Here's my lovely Joanne and one of her Polaroid cameras, sitting on the steps of the Polygon Gallery in North Vancouver.
I shot this photo with Bergger Pancro 400 120 film, pulled to EI 100. Home developed with HC-110 (1+31) 7:17 at 19.5°C. with my Hasselblad 205fcc. Shot with my Hasselblad 205fcc and Zeiss Planar T* 80mm f/2.8. 1/500th at f/8.0.
This was my second time using Bergger Pancro 400. I really love this film for it's incredible ability to exhibit a huge range of tones, particularly in the mid-range. This photo is directly scanned from the negative with no adjustments to levels at all.
I chose to use pull processing for this roll of Bergger Pancro 400 just out of curiosity, and the results were even better than I'd expected. I shot this photo with Joanne sitting in direct sunlight. Under normal circumstances, with most films, metering for shadows would have left the highlights blown out, and without details. In this case, I metered on her face, and yet, there is a tonne of details still in the shadows, and even in the darks. This is the main objective of pulling film--It allows for a higher dynamic range under high contrast light situations. This film handled pull processing so well!
the squirrels in the park are so used to being fed by people that, since they're not used to hunting for their own food, in the winter, when there aren't as many people to hand-feed them, they have to resort to cannibalism in order to not starve.

This one is my favourite, although it hasn't scanned very well. I blame myself for that.

An upload from the Cuyahoga Valley National Park can only mean one thing, yet another NE OH Meetup has passed!
May 11th - 13th, again hosted by the ever-kind John and Dolly Powers, a slew of traditional film photographers met up to shoot, share prints, learn some new techniques, and shoot some more! Very seldom are these meetups boring, for each morning I found myself waking up ~5 AM just raring to get over to the park at first light to score a sweet exposure.
I'm not going to go into gross detail, but if you know the area, you know this particular wide angle image as well as the time of day it was taken already breaks a multitude of park laws. Enough said. ;)

Okay, cool, but, like, when? Because we still haven’t received our forms, and there’s no post on Sundays.
(Scratch that, apparently we’re expected to do it online this time around, for which purpose they’ve already sent us an information pack including our login details. And there I was looking forward to filling out a load of paperwork with a biro, just like back in the day.)

Focussing is off, DoF is far too narrow and it's a generally spongey shot thanks to the fungal farm inside the front element, but you get the idea - squint a little and it looks just fine!

I'm not sure what happened here, why is there that vertical stripe - it's on negative, so it can be film defect, development defect (most likely), or even shutter defect...

i accidentally shot this roll at 100 instead of 400, so two stops overexposed. i wasn't sure whether or not to take advantage of portra's latitude and just process normally, but in the end i had the lab pull process two stops to compensate for my mistake. the photos turned out better than i had a right to expect!
