What better use of a rainy day than to explore a museum with a camera. The Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, Ontario, has a large collection of vintage warplanes, flightworthy and otherwise. If this plane looks familiar you’ve likely seen it flown by the Snowbirds, Canada’s Aerial Display Team.

Unretouched or cropped, this is the first frame on the roll. The Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetary from street level. I don't know if the slight flaring on the left is from the fungus damage, or the miniscule hood I was using.

Pretty damn green this one. I think I prefer the colour-corrected print. But I suppose that defeats the object of cross processing doesn't it? Sensia 400 shot at 200, pull-processed by 1 stop to compensate.

Taking advantage of having a Rental Car I took off into small town New Jersey, with a stop first at Unique Photo, then to nearby Butler, often raved about downtown on the Film Photography Podcast.

Ilford HP5+ (Exposed at ISO-100, Pulled 2 Stops)
Test roll from a 1930s Lumiere Box camera.
I pull processed HP5 to 200 ISO, reasoning that the camera was designed with slower emulsions in mind, having a single aperture and a single shutter speed. The fixed lens, presumably set at its hyperfocal distance is pretty sharp at the centre, and falls off considerably towards the edges.

Like many towns in NJ, Butler has a rail line running through it. Crossing the river at a very simple bridge.

This aircraft is a hollow fibreglass replica of a Hawker Hurricane, except for the landing gear. The rest of the plane was destroyed in a museum fire in 1993.
