I always find it interesting when I see a tree in the middle of winter that even after a snowstorm with some high winds still has a few leaves hanging on.
This is a shot taken from my first pull processed roll of film. Canon Elan 7E, HP5+ ISO 400 pulled to ISO 200, ID11(1+1) developer
Very heavy snow from this storm cause many smaller and some larger trees to lean. The smaller branches towards the bottom were nearly touching my driveway. canon Elan 7E, 50mm f1.8, HP5+ pulled ISO 200, ID11 (1+1)

Sather Tower, Berkeley California, 10/1/2011
Sather Tower is a campanile (bell and clock tower) on the University of California, Berkeley campus. It is more commonly known as The Campanile due to its resemblance to the Campanile di San Marco in Venice, and serves as UC Berkeley's most recognizable symbol. It was completed in 1914 and first opened to the public in 1917. The tower stands 307 feet (93.6 m) tall, making it the third tallest bell and clock-tower in the world. It was designed by John Galen Howard, founder of the College of Environmental Design, and it marks a secondary axis in his original Beaux-Arts campus plan. Since then, it has been a major point of orientation in almost every campus master plan. The tower has seven floors, with an observation deck on the eighth floor. Some floors are used to store fossils. (from [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sather_Tower])
An interesting result from a failed experiment in trying to achieve a hyperfocal using the Scheimpflug principle. What resulted is two distinct focal planes between the camera and infinity (see notes, when viewing I saw that the clockface and the Ivy was in focus and foolishly thought everything in between would be when I stopped down, as it turned out the Ivy was just too close to achieve the desired effect). Another part of the experiment was pulling Plus-X 2 stops using Xtol. The sun was going down leaving a very contrasty scene, the flattening of the contrast by this exposure/developer combination yielded all sorts of details in the shadows and different tonalities between the different species of trees in the shot. Also, the bells in the top of the tower were only barely visible in the shadows to the naked eye but have all kinds of detail in this flattened contrast shot. I'm *really* starting to like this exposure/developer combination for medium format kodak films (while they last, I suppose) to flatten high contrast scenes.

Walking back from the Lohrberg last week I came through Seckbach, which I never realized still has a number of old houses - half timberd and others - still standing. I'll have to go back there some day. Now old houses for now, just some tombstones in front of the local church.
