This is a B&W photo of a puddle of rainwater on a flat surface of concrete. I positioned myself so that the sun is reflected in the puddle.

This evening I took a walkabout with a very wide 14mm lens on the hunt for puddles with this type of shot in mind. It's not easy timing the shot so that no-one is stood in the way!

Puddles as a foreground often make up for a nice composition in combination with a wide angle lens.

 

Faroe Islands

Woke up to some nice puddles this morning. No time to jump in them before work. If they're still there when I get home I will be doing a bit of puddle stomping. Splish, splash!

With a crew having just arrived to begin their work at Grand Island, an SD40-2 pair idles along a trackside puddle.

I spent the whole night in Venice and i've realized how much important is a puddle.First of all in San Marco square.

Not the normal way to moore ones boat.

Thought this sitting in a puddle would be worth the heading.

I was photographing this puddle in the path as Jim kept walking. He reflected in another smaller puddle, and I found it was more interesting when I rotated the photo 180 degrees.

This is a close-up photo of a frozen mud puddle on the access road to Martinique Beach.

Used the polarizer to get less reflection from the wet grass and leaves, but no matter how I turned the polarizer, there was always something blown out. Shows I still don't have enough experience with the filter. I ended up making this an HDR with the polarizer only being used for nice colours. Not completely happy about the sharpness.
