A while ago Appletree Press got in touch with me to ask if they could use one of my photos in an upcoming book of theirs. They offered a full credit and a copy of the book and of course I was more than happy to say yes. I finally got a copy of the book this morning and here it is.

Published in Budapest by Gustav Grimm in 1910. Cloth boards.
The book is in German and has a few fine penciled markings in the margin.
Some of the pages are loose, the overall condition of the book is not great.
There is an ink signature on the title page dated 1914?
Bunion cartoons created by George Martin were published in my local newspaper The Leicester Mercury.

This photograph was published in the Illustrated Chronicle on the 2nd of May 1917.
During the Great War the Illustrated Chronicle published photographs of soldiers and sailors from Newcastle and the North East of England, which had been in the news. The photographs were sent in by relatives and give us a glimpse into the past.
The physical collection held by Newcastle Libraries comprises bound volumes of the newspaper from 1910 to 1925. We are keen to find out more about the people in the photographs. If you recognize anyone in the images and have any stories and information to add please comment below.

Tre è il numero della perfezione. E la perfezione, dal punto di vista della scena musicale italiana contemporanea, è composta da Niccolò Fabi, Daniele Silvestri e Max Gazzè. Tre amici che dopo vent'anni di canzoni e di un rapporto fraterno, decidono di ritornare insieme per un progetto discografico dolce come la vita, Life is sweet. I tre si incontrano nei primi anni Novanta al Locale di Roma, non un semplice spazio per live e cocktail, ma un simbolo della città, che fa da sfondo al legame indissolubile dei tre. Sempre presenti, quando il dolore per la scomparsa di una figlia diventa musica, quando l'evento di uno diventa un'occasione per la partecipazione a sorpresa degli altri due, quando, come accade in questo live, l'uno s'intromette nelle canzoni dell'altro.
Nel concerto di Fabi, Silvestri, Gazzè tour 2014 saranno centrali le nuove canzoni scritte a sei mani, ma a comporre quella scaletta confluiranno gli ormai ventennali repertori dei tre artisti, che si divertiranno a metter mano e voce l'uno nelle note dell'altro.
La superband di Life is sweet presenta i nuovi pezzi e quelli che hanno fatto la storia dei tre e sarà accompagnata da Roberto Angelini, Dedo (Massimo de Domenico), Piero Monterisi, Gianluca Misiti, Adriano Viterbini, Josè Ramon Caraballo Armas, amici vecchi e nuovi con i quali hanno condiviso i loro percorsi.
