A lot is unknown about this cabin, we do know it was owned by a guy named Will Green, he had a zoo & a whole lot of other stuff on his property. This old place is at least from the 30's, and yes probably older than that. Possibly even traces back to the "bleeding kansas" days. If your interested you can read an actual article about it, just follow the link...

The Great Majestic (2981)

Antique stove inside mercantile store. Castle Dome City, once larger than nearby Yuma, AZ, is now a ghost town and museum full of artifacts from the nearby mining district. This was photographed during a week-long 1528-mile road trip with Mike Cooper. Photographed in almost total darkness, lit from the back and several other angles with a ProtoMachines LED2 handheld flashlight.

The Land of Roar
~~~~~
One of the battling dinosaurs in Borrego Springs, the Carnotaurus unleashes his otherworldly roar that shakes the very stars. To create this night photo, I set the camera on a tripod. I opened the camera shutter for a long time. While the shutter was open, I walked around with a handheld ProtoMachines LED2 light capable of producing different colors, and illuminated the enormous dinosaur with warm white light. During the exposure, all the light I shined on the subject was cumulative. This process is called "light painting". Why? Because one uses the flashlight as a paint brush, "brushing" on light, not paint. Light painting to illuminate subjects is a beautiful, addictive art, as you can walk around the scene, deciding what to bring to light and what to keep in shadow. And it's more fun than AI-generated images.
Inside of a former restaurant that shares a really small parking lot with the "coonass gas" station. Walls have been cannibalized for the copper wire. What what i was told it has been closed for close to 20 years and I should be careful because "they's all a bunch of coonass's south of 10".
The clouds rolled in slowly but steadily, blotting out all traces of the sky. The moon poked and prodded for a weakness, but ultimately was no match for the unrelenting cloud layer.
Someone took it upon themselves to cut words and pictures into the metal siding of an abandoned mine site "in the name of art", only to speed its decay 10x due to the loss of structural integrity and letting the elements in. All the attention their "art piece" drew also opened the door to scrappers coming in and gutting some of the buildings. Enjoy it while it lasts...
Hatch that leads into one of the living areas of an atlas E nuclear missile site. All of the atlas "E" missiles didn't have much in the ways of guidance and from what I was told, at the time of this site being active it was unclear if a missile launched from the states would actually be able to make it all the way to russia. The 'E" missile sites all had the missile sitting directly north & south so that when the missile was launched it would be travelling in the direction of the USSR (going over the top of the globe)...all it had to do was have enough fuel to get it up & over and the warhead would take care of the rest. Location not disclosed at owners request.
It seems field mice don't look before they leap. If you may recall, one such mouse dove into a garbage can for a leftover takeout box without any thought as to how it would get out. On this evening, I accidentally spooked one that was scurrying along the wall. It panicked and took a drastic 90 degree turn straight into the bottomless cesspool of the gun battery. It would be hard enough for a person to climb out, but I can't imagine a field mouse would be able to jump up a 3 foot ledge while treading water.
The Alabama Hills is a fascinating desert area with strange rock formations near Lone Pine and Mount Whitney in California. The star trails are caused by the rotation of the earth during the long exposure. All illumination and colored lights were done with a handheld flashlight during the exposure, and is not a post-processing creation.
