My vision of what a protein might look like. This is a very thick piece of clay that weighs about 20 pounds. Approximately 18 inches long. All hand squeezed with an ornate surface. Unglazed. Pigment applied with wax and light coat of polyurethane on surface.

Tried something different with the photo. Setting it up took a lot of time and wasn't sure if it would come out good.

Pictured here: A mass of tumor cells at center surrounded by several different immune system cells that can attack the tumor in various ways with the help of the camelid antibody fragments called nanobodies.

Full-sized antibodies are already used for cancer immunotherapy, harnessing the body’s various immune-system cells to help kill cancer cells. For example, T cells can be removed from the body and engineered to make a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that includes a human antibody fragment capable of recognizing certain kinds of cancer. Nanobodies can be used in the same tumor-attacking ways, such as targeting proteins to reduce tumor growth or blocking blood vessels from feeding a tumor.

A handful of animals make a pared-down version of these pathogen-fighting proteins of our immune system. Scientists hope to harness them as treatments for ills from cancer to Covid, for tracking cells in the body, and more.

Protein is supposed to keep you fuller longer so I'm trying these shakes for breakfast to help cut out a few calories! Afterall, I have to have my ice cream at night!

An animal many of you will never have cooked. It's game so must be left rare or be well marinated. After is top, before is bottom.

A nice cold frothy glass of Bolthouse Farms Perfectly Protein Mocha Cappuccion with Whey Protein Drink...tasty!

1% milk, 1 scoop of chocolate flavoured protein powder, 1 frozen banana, whipped up in the blender.

When you’re working out with a focused goal you tend to become VERY specific with your caloric and nutritional intake. When you’re trying to pack on the muscle it can be rather hard to take in enough healthy protein on a daily basis. You can only eat so much! While working out a couple years back I started doing some research and I found a product call “NEW WHEY PROTEIN”. In just over 3 oz of liquid I could ingest 42g of protein. WOW, if you know anything about nutrition you know that’s a lot. To give you a rough idea, an average chicken breast holds about 7 grams. So imagine taking 6 times that amount in about two swallows. Trust me, if you’re working out and burning thru those calories you’ll welcome the ease AND that extra protein. One last note, as far as supplements go, the flavors are surprisingly delicious!

Thanks goes out to Jeff at IDS Sports and NEW WHEY for the subject matter in the shot. I’d also like to thank my friend Marq for his time and energy. You my friend were a GREAT supplement to a SUPPLIMENTAL shot….haha, pun intended!

(NOTE: Supplements are exactly that! They are not meant to replace meals!)

My sketchnote of a very nice talk by U. Lund's Adrian Sanchez-Fernandez about how they used SANS and NMR to probe the structure of protein-surfactant complexes as a function of changing surfactant concentration.

Ah, my sweet. I never could reproduce this crystal form. Fortunately I was able to collect data from this single crystal!

Pintxos are a wonderful food in the Basque Country in Spain. This is from a pintxos bar in old town San Sebastian, Spain.

Clams are extremely low in fat and have only a few calories. This nutritional value of clams makes them even more viable as a replacement for fatty animal proteins. Also, the fatty acid, omega 3, that clams contain is extremely good for health, especially the heart.... www.onlinerecipeideas.com/2013/09/clam-linguine-recipe.html

Alligator gar and three anglers.

I started P90X a couple of weeks ago. This is one of the variations of the protein shake that is from the diet guide. It's not bad but I'll never get used to the taste of whey.
