Koh Lipe is the southernmost island of Thailand in the Andaman Sea. It is part of the Adang-Rawi archipelago. This archipelago forms, together with the Tarutao archipelago, the National Park Koh Tarutao. The Chao Lay live on the island. This is a tribe that lives mainly on the islands in the Andaman Sea. Although Koh Lipe is part of a national park, the inhabitants are only allowed to develop part of the island for tourism. All other islands is prohibit. On the car-free island there are a few narrow roads that connect the beaches, because that is what it is all about: enjoying the sun, sea and beach. The seawater is emerald green-blue and crystal clear. The island is surrounded by a beautiful coral reef with numerous beautiful tropical fish. With the longtail boat you sail to the most beautiful and best snorkling spots in the area. That it is a National Park means that the entire island is protected area. This is not for nothing, because nature here is really beautiful. Twenty years ago I had been here with my wife, together with our daughter back again. See photo from 1998.
Koh Lipe is a small island in the Southern part of the Thai Andaman Sea. It is famous for it's white sandy beaches, crystal clear water and bountyful marine life. The main transport hub for Koh Lipe is Pak Bara with daily speedboats boats running all year. This cluster of islands is part of the much larger Tarutao National Marine Park, a nature reserve established in 1974 as Thailand’s second National Park. It consists of about 50 islands and covers 1500 km². We visit Koh Lipe in the low season for peaceful, romantic walks along the deserted beach under the moonlight. Low season with rain but we had some holiday luck ;-) Photo of a young couple at Sunset beach on Koh Lipe.

Finally last weekend I went to the seaside ... but not a generic seaside, "my own paradise" :-)
A soft veil of mist rises gently from the valley floor at Hendrie Valley Sanctuary, part of the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, Ontario. The early morning light filters through the trees and wetlands, illuminating the drifting fog and creating a serene, almost dreamlike atmosphere. This tranquil scene captures the quiet magic of daybreak in a protected natural environment, ideal for themes of seasonal change, environmental beauty, and peaceful landscapes.

Perspective
This view is facing east from Thornton Hollow Overlook on Neighbor Mountain. The overlook is located along Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, at an elevation 2460 feet. The overlook lies within the political borders of Rappahannock County, Virginia.
Landscape
Mountains visible include Piney Ridge, Fork Mountain, Pignut Mountain, Pickerel Ridge, Jenkins Mountain and Little Jenkins Mountain. A portion of Neighbor Mountain (on which I was standing) is also visible in the foreground. These mountains are all part of the Northern Blue Ridge Subprovince of the Blue Ridge Province of the Appalachian Mountains. The portions of Pickerel Ridge, Jenkins Mountain and Little Jenkins Mountain visible in the upper right-hand corner of the shot are outside the boundaries of the national park. Further east, and barely visible through the gap between Jenkins Mountain and Little Jenkins Mountain is Virginia's Piedmont Province, a relatively flat geological region consisting primarily of rolling hills. The entire view is within the political borders of Rappahannock County, Virginia.

Different Shades of Green, Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia.
Plitvice Lakes National Park (Plitvička jezera) is the largest national park in Croatia. The national park was founded in 1949 and is situated in the mountainous karst area of central Croatia, at the border to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The protected area extends over 297 square kilometres. In 1979, Plitvice Lakes National Park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage register among the first natural sites worldwide.
The national park is famous for its lakes arranged in cascades. Currently, 16 lakes can be seen from the surface. These lakes are a result of the confluence of several small rivers and subterranean karst rivers. The lakes are all interconnected and follow the water flow. They are separated by natural dams of travertine, which is deposited by the action of moss, algae, and bacteria.
The sixteen lakes are separated into an upper and lower cluster formed by runoff from the mountains, descending from an altitude of 636 to 503 m over a distance of eight km, aligned in a south-north direction. The lakes collectively cover an area of about two square kilometers, with the water exiting from the lowest lake forming the Korana River.
The lakes are renowned for their distinctive colors, ranging from azure to green, grey or blue. The colors change constantly depending on the quantity of minerals or organisms in the water and the angle of sunlight.

Jordan (Wadi Rum, "the valley of sand", known also as the Valley of the Moon, is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan; it is the largest wadi in Jordan. Wadi Rum has been inhabited by many human cultures since prehistoric times, with many cultures–including the Nabataeans.
The area is centered on the main valley of Wadi Rum. The highest elevation in Jordan is Jabal Umm ad Dami at 1,840 m (6,040 ft) high (SRTM data states 1854 m), located 30 kilometres south of Wadi Rum village. It was first located by Difallah Ateeg, a Zalabia Bedouin from Rum. On a clear day, it is possible to see the Red Sea and the Saudi border from the top...)
