Solunto, a popular destination for various peoples, was for centuries a master of civilization and the scene of battles with Greek, Carthaginians and Romans as protagonists. It occupies a beautiful position on the slope of Monte Catalfano, which offers an incredibly fascinating view. It is located in the province of Palermo.
The city is rich in history, with ancient roots: it was in fact founded by the Phoenicians and later passed to the Carthaginians who made it an important maritime centre; after the first Punic war it was dominated by the Romans.
The Greek term Solunto derives from the mythological figure of the brigand Solus, killed by the hero Heracles.

La città è ricca di storia, dalle radici antiche: fu infatti fondata dai Fenici e in seguito passata ai Cartaginesi che ne fecero un importante centro marittimo; dopo la prima guerra punica fu dominata dai Romani.

Dinant is a wonderful Belgian city where you can relax on the waterfront. There on that beautiful waterfront you can really enjoy a spectacle in the old-fashioned way with the water of the river in a shining leading role. As you stare at the eternally living protagonist and mentally recoil with the waves when another beautiful boat sails by, the reflections of the clouds come to life in the water. The waves then resemble the beautiful long hair of the actress who plays the best supporting role of her life. You are the calm itself and it is as if you are floating through the air on a saxophone. Meanwhile, you take another sip of your ice-cold drink. You are immersed in the play that takes place before your eyes for free but with a imaginable handbrake on the saxophone of the invisible Mr. Sax, the theater piece suddenly comes to a stop. Then the play turn into a beautiful painting with the boats in the foreground. Those boats together really look like a harmonica. In your mind you hear a passionate music virtuoso playing a beautiful Belgian tune on that sailing harmonica while you take the last sip of the drink that tastes even better than ever before.

Dinant is een stad waar je heerlijk kunt ontspannen aan de waterkant. Daar aan die prachtige waterkant kun je echt nog ouderwets genieten van een schouwspel met het water van de rivier in een glanzende hoofdrol. Als je staart naar de eeuwig levende hoofdrolspeler en in gedachten mee deinst met de golven wanneer er weer eens een mooie boot voorbijvaart dan komen de reflecties van de wolken tot leven in het schilderachtige Dinant. De golven lijken daarna op het prachtige lange haar van de actrice die de bijrol van haar leven speelt naast hoofdrolspeler meneer water. Terwijl jij nog een slok van je ijskoude drankje neemt. Je gaat op in het theaterstuk dat zich gratis voor je ogen afspeelt en de reflecties van de groene heuvel aan de ene kant en de typische Belgische huizen aan de andere kant zorgen ervoor dat je zweeft van geluk op een saxofoon. Dat zweven kan helaas niet voorkomen dat het theaterstuk door het trekken van ene meneer Sax aan een denkbeeldige handrem op diezelfde saxofoon tot stilstand komt. Maar niet getreurd, want het schouwspel gaat hierdoor meteen over in een prachtig schilderij waarbij de bootjes op de voorgrond in elkaar opgaan als een echte harmonica. In gedachten hoor je een gepassioneerde straatmuzikant een prachtig deuntje spelen terwijl jij het laatste slokje neemt van het koude drankje dat nog lekkerder smaakt dan ooit tevoren.

Hay una ruta muy sencilla, pero no muy conocida, en la localidad sayaguesa de Mámoles que conduce a la cascada de las Lastras de Aguas Bravas. Durante el recorrido nos iremos encontrando con molinos y puentes tradicionales. Este arroyo o rivera es el protagonista, sus aguas se convertirán en una imponente cascada que desemboca en los Arribes del Duero. Lugar y ruta muy recomendable.
There is a very simple route, but not very well known, in the Sayaguesa town of Mámoles that leads to the Lastras de Aguas Bravas waterfall. During the tour we will find mills and traditional bridges. This stream or riverbank is the protagonist, its waters will become an imposing waterfall that flows into the Arribes del Duero. Es gibt eine sehr einfache, aber nicht sehr bekannte Route in der Stadt Mámoles in Sayaguesa, die zum Wasserfall Lastras de Aguas Bravas führt. Während der Tour werden wir Mühlen und traditionelle Brücken finden. Dieser Bach oder Flussufer ist der Protagonist, sein Wasser wird zu einem imposanten Wasserfall, der in die Arribes del Duero mündet. Sehr empfehlenswerter Ort und Route.

Way back in 2011 and 2012 I was doing a 100 Possibilities Project with clothespins- I staged many of them with the protagonists Pin and Peg but there were tiny ones and Olympic ones and even a few artistic ones. I think there are 119 pictures in all, but I think Lola might be my favorite. (When I’m back on my laptop, I’ll post the link to the album and even a mosaic of the original 100.)

How could it be otherwise, the river is the undisputed protagonist of the daily life of the Vietnamese. You have the possibility of going through it in one of the traditional boats or walking along the river walk of the Thu Bon river. River that runs through the city of Hoi An, it is nice to cross its waters for the simple fact of walking in a colorful boat. At night its waters are filled with offerings of light to ask for good omens.

Teniu la possibilitat de recórrer-lo en alguna de les barques tradicionals o caminar pel passeig fluvial del riu Thu Bon. Riu que recorre la ciutat de Hoi An, és bonic solcar les seves aigües pel simple fet de passejar en una barca plena de colors. A la nit les aigües s'omplen d'ofrenes de llum per demanar bons auguris.
The canvas is inspired by the character of Ophelia, one of the protagonists of William Shakespeare's Hamlet. Hamlet's madness tears Ophelia deeply into her beloved. Hamlet, in order to continue his intrigue, does not hesitate to shamelessly insult the even beloved Ophelia who drowns herself in a stream in desperation.

This is a piece by Mary Sibande regarding the Tshivenda Initiation Ceremony of young women transitioning into adulthood. Sophie, the alterego of the artist, is the protagonist. Sibande is an artist that creates political pieces often based on Apartheid. This art was from my trip to The Museum of Art and Design in NYC. I never considered myself to be very interested in fashion but political fashion IS art and I love art so I really enjoyed this exhibit (also features three pieces by Nick Cave). On a personal note, yesterday Day 2 with Covid was agony for me but I am feeling a bit better today (I am also on Paxlovid). I think what we all have to remember is that you are essentially playing Russian Roulette when you contract this because there are so many variants and each one impacts individuals in vastly different ways. So, let's not be ableist in our generalizations of this virus.

The anomalous heat of this autumn has kept the main protagonists of the Grand Paradiso National Park aloft. Here in Valnontey the Chamois around 2400 meters, the Ibex at least 500 meters higher.
However, the beautiful light allowed me to capture beautiful Chamois.

First sunset of the month of February over Madrid, with the five towers again as protagonists (you know they are my favorite muses, haha).
We start a new month, the second of the year. It seems like yesterday when we were celebrating New Years Day, and we've already used up a month.
What do you expect from this month of February? For my part, I am content to stay healthy and not be infected with the terrific virus, which is all we can ask for.
This photo was taken at 7:18 PM with a temperature at that time of 56F (13ºC) after having reached a maximum temperature of around 61F (16ºC) in Madrid.
Today the sunset in Madrid was at 6:32 PM

Primer atardecer del mes de Febrero sobre Madrid, con las cinco torres nuevamente como protagonistas (ya sabéis que son mis musas preferidas, jaja).
Comenzamos un nuevo mes, el segundo del año. Parece que fue ayer cuando estábamos celebrando el Día de Año Nuevo, y ya hemos consumido un mes.
¿Qué esperas de este mes de Febrero? Por mi parte, me conformo con permanecer sano y no vernos contagiados con el dichoso virus, que es todo lo que ya podemos pedir.
Esta foto la tomé a las 7:18 PM con una temperatura en ese momento de 56F (13ºC) después de haber alcanzado una temperatura máxima de alrededor de 61F (16ºC) en Madrid.

Old-Delhi (India) - Des attitudes et des mines réjouies qui pourraient laisser penser que les protagonistes de cette scène posent pour moi. Il n’en est rien. Ces bouchers du quartier musulman de la moquée Jama Masjid, n’ont pas réalisé ma présence au moment où j’ai pris cette photo. J’étais sur le trottoir d’en face, partiellement dissimulé derrière un vélo-pousse.
Je voulais la boucherie dans son intégralité ; Je n’avais pas d’autre choix que de prendre du recul.
Et puis avant de déclencher, il a fallu que je jongle avec la position des bouchers et les voitures qui passaient devant moi toutes les 3 secondes.

Old-Delhi (India) - Attitudes and smiling faces that could suggest that the protagonists of this scene are posing for me. It is not so. These butchers in the Muslim quarter of the Jama Masjid mosque, did not realize my presence when I took this photo. I was on the sidewalk opposite, partially hidden behind a rickshaw.
I wanted the butcher shop in its entirety; I had no choice but to take a step back.
And then before triggering, I had to juggle the position of the butchers and the cars passing in front of me every 3 seconds.

I selectively manipulated the iPhone camera while in Pano mode to warp or "sabotage" the exterior of the train as I viewed it through the window, trying to keep the frame and interior intact. It's as if something very strange were happening OUTside of the train.
There's an oblique pun in the title referring to a song by The Who called "5:15". Unlike Jimmy, the protagonist in the song, I was not "out of my brain on the 5:15". I was indulging in some good strong coffee only.

Fotografiando el color. El color es muy importante en nuestras vidas. Aporta una capa insustituible de información y de complejidad a la fotografía, pero a mí, me resulta fascinante intentar fotografiar el color siendo en si el color el protagonista de la fotografía.
Shooting to the color. Color is very important in our lives. It brings an irreplaceable layer of information and complexity to photography, but for me, I find it fascinating to try to photograph color when color itself is the protagonist of the photograph.

En premier plan, une femme seule est captivée par une conversation téléphonique. Sa posture montre une certaine tension dans son corps, peut-être une conversation importante ou émotionnelle.
En arrière-plan, une autre femme est assise sur un banc, de dos, regardant dans une direction opposée. Sa présence discrète accentue le sentiment de solitude et de distance. Le banc semble à la fois être un refuge pour la femme assise et une barrière symbolique entre les deux protagonistes de la photo.
J’ai essayé de donner un aperçu de la vie quotidienne, du passage du temps et des émotions qui parcourent les personnes dans cet environnement serein mais parfois isolant.
In the foreground, a lone woman is captivated by a telephone conversation. Her posture shows some tension in her body, perhaps an important or emotional conversation.
In the background, another woman is seated on a bench, from behind, looking in the opposite direction. Its discreet presence accentuates the feeling of loneliness and distance. The bench seems both to be a refuge for the seated woman and a symbolic barrier between the two protagonists of the photo.
I tried to give an insight into daily life, the passage of time and the emotions that run through people in this serene but sometimes isolating environment.

Visiting the historical centre of Montblanc, where the protagonist of the photo, is the Church of the town, which is from the 14th century. Dedicated to St. Mary the greater and Gothic style.
Visitando el casco histórico de Montblanc, donde la protagonista de la foto, es la iglesia de la localidad, la cual es del siglo XIV. Dedicada a Santa María la mayor y de estilo gótico.
Our two protagonists enjoy a Dutch speciality. In the Netherlands, matje herring is traditionally eaten by hand. That means you grab the fish by the tail, place the head in the neck and enjoy the herring (or fillet) in one piece. For the production of matje herring, only young herring may be taken that have put on fat before the reproductive phase (fishing season May to June). The herrings are gutted down to the pancreas and salted. They are then matured in brine for a few days by the body's own enzymes still present in the pancreas. So " True Matjes" consists only of herring and salt.

Unsere beiden Protagonisten genießen eine niederländische Spezialität. In den Niederlanden wird der Matjeshering traditionell mit der Hand gegessen. Das heißt, man packt den Fisch am Schwanz, legt den Kopf in den Nacken und genießt den Hering (oder das Filet) am Stück. Für die Herstellung von Matjeshering dürfen nur junge Heringe verwendet werden, die sich vor der Fortpflanzungsphase Fettpolster angefressen haben (Fangsaison Mai bis Juni). Die Heringe werden bis auf die Bauchspeicheldrüse ausgenommen und gesalzen. Anschließend reifen sie durch die in der Bauchspeicheldrüse noch vorhandenen, körpereigenen Enzyme für einige Tage in Salzlake. „Echter Matjes“ besteht also nur aus Hering und Salz.

Happiness was the protagonist..it went away and came back again into the story of their lives. It was difficult for them to fathom it had ever departed and why but they were grateful when Sorrow fled. Loneliness and Resentment were having misanthropic parties somewhere else and Happiness Returned.
