I just never thought I would ever go through anything like this. My 6 treatments (cycles) of Kemosabe Liquid Sunshine concluded in early October and I am presently convalescing from peripheral neuropathy, nerve damage of my feet. Which are healing slowly. And my hair has also begun to regrow. I have been working remotely and am scheduled to return to work in early January. Initially I had been going into work following each treatment, until I reached cycle #4 in early August, after which the side effects hit me like a sledgehammer, as no one had informed me how side effects are cumulative.

There exists a societal stigma with regards to cancer, which silently stipulates how people are not supposed to speak of nor acknowledge it. Yeah, well, you know what I say to that? Go Fuck Yourself. No one tells me what to do with my creativity.

Tues 6 July 2010. - The 27th Annual Ladies Pro-Am Competition, in aid of The Ladies Captain's Charity - Prostate Cancer. For better or worse...the prostate cancer decision starts with a urologist and he or she is the prism through which the decision will pass. Use your urologist for information and feel free to consult a radiation therapist, your friends, family and the internet before finalizing your decision.

If you have troulbe peeing now and you have radiation...this will worsen. If you have troubel peeing and you remove the prostate it will get better. You job is to assess your situation in this regard, make it known to your doctors and make a decision considering "how you void."

My latest bedtime ration: 2 x Paracetamol, 1 x Diclofenac sodium, 2 x Senna, 2 x Docusate sodium, 1 x Tramadol, 1 x Zopiclone, 1 x MST Continis, 1 x Sevredol & half a Lorazepam.

Eleven and a half tablets.

I am now on Tramadol in place of Dihydrocodeine as of yesterday. Last night I slept most of the way through with no pain from my pesky left hip / leg combo.

I tell patients to consider the best case worst case scenario in their treatment decision process. This simple excercise may very well be the thing that persuades the patient to choose one option over another, i.e. "I cannot live with the thought of total incontinence ( a possibility of a radical prostatectomy).
