In the past month or so, I have completely lost my grip on life. Everything literally revolves around the short film me and Victoria are making for our senior thesis project.
It's tough. We've definitely taken on a lot; weekends we're shooting, weeks we're planning, nights we're tweaking different aspects of the project. So managing that, school, work, and the need to sleep and eat has been more than challenging. Today, we stopped by My Dog Joe's in Westdale to outline the props and wardrobe pieces we needed to get ready for this Sunday's shoot, and I couldn't help but take this photo, as the lighting filtering in through the main window was amazing.
At a time when there is little to no time to relax, it's these simple joys that can keep me satisfied until principal photography is complete, and we can finally move on to post, and time-permitting, some rest.

This four bladed prop was needed to efficiently direct the monstrous power of the Pratt & Whitney's R-2800 Double Wasp Engine.
At the time, this was by far the most ambitious photo shoot I’d done.
As all my shoots have concepts, or themes, and all my photo shoots end up having very unique names derived from the personality of the shoot, I thought I’d take the idea a little further than I’d ever done before.
The concept for this shoot was this: Over three days shoot three very different models in three different locations. Each model was put in a place defined by my impression of their personality. Each model was given a prop for them to use or to be shot against, and yes the prop is also chosen based on the model’s personality.
So over three days, Fri, Sat, Sun, each model is shot during sunset.
While on set I was struck with very specific names for each shoot. Deep, Down, and High. (The series later became known as DDH).
The “High” shoot is the first shoot, the shoot that set the mood and style for the rest of them. So when we set out to shoot, it had been raining all day. Thunder and lighting was our curse. Regardless, we decided to shoot. And amazingly, I kid you not, the moment we showed on at the location the rain stopped and the sun broke through the clouds. Then, when we finished and started packing up, the sun when back behind the clouds and the rain started as if on cue.
I don't usually use props in my photos, but thinking in the big picture here, this abandoned greenhouse on the grounds of the winery Chateau de Ste Michelle is a prop in itself. There are so many things that catch my eye...the drain pipe connected to nothing, the one lone apple on the ground, the stack of used clay pots, the mossy roof....I would love to walk inside. cy365
The prop control fork and hook are not properly securing the prop control allowing it to bounce up and down. If left in this condition the hole will wear out allowing the control cable to float in and out. This would cause loss of control of the prop governor.

The Gladstone Theatre has been a theatre for nearly 50 years, initially a truck garage, it was renovated into a theatre by the GCTC in 1983 and then again in 2007. The building started out as a cinderblock garage.
In 1982, Great Canadian Theatre Company converted it into a 230-seat theatre. In 2008, GCTC moved out into the Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre. The building was purchased by Steve Martin and Marilisa Granzotto, owners of a nearby Arthur Murray Dance Studio, and renovated at an approximate cost of CA$500,000. In 2011, Plosive Productions and SevenThirty Productions joined forces to take on the operation of the theatre. The partnership expanded to include shows by Black Sheep Theatre, Bear and Co., Same Day Theatre (in 2013), and Three Sisters Theatre Company (in 2014). In 2015, the theatre building was sold again, and a lease was signed to keep The Gladstone a theatre for years to come. In November 2016, The Gladstone Theatre Inc. was incorporated as a not-for-profit.
By this time, The Gladstone was regularly housing twelve stylistically diverse theatre companies, with more than 27,000 tickets sold per year. During the process of incorporation, five Resident Companies were named: four professional indie companies, and one community theatre company. The newly minted Resident Companies had to have produced at least three shows at The Gladstone, and to make a commitment to continue producing at least one show per year. These five inaugural Resident Companies were Bear & Co., Black Sheep Theatre, Phoenix Players, Plosive Productions, and Three Sisters Theatre Company. Currently, there are four resident companies: Plosive Productions, Three Sisters Theatre Company, Bear & Co., and Phoenix Players.

Her looks are inspired by the 'Gothic Lolita' style, with black, white and bright red clothing. Perona's usual hair style has it tied in two high pigtails with somewhat flower-shaped black and white hairpins, and she always wears a red crown with a cross on top.
Long abandoned, and on the verge of collapse, Tottie Hall was built in 1637. It was renamed Seacroft Grange by John Wilson who moved in 200 years later. By 1941 it had become a primary school, but it has been empty now for a long time. Although it is grade II listed, it is in a very bad way. Ceilings are missing, and beams hang precariously on the verge of collapse. The upstairs floors have long gone and in various places scaffolding props the rotting roof beams.
The original late 17th century carved staircase, once from Austhorpe Hall is believed to be in storage with the council.
Various plans for the place come and go, but Seacroft Grange stands derelict and empty.
