Nederland, Noord-Brabant, Eindhoven, 07-03-2010; Strijp-S, voormalige Philipsterrein, was niet toegankelijk voor het publiek, 'de verboden stad'. Onder in beeld Philitefabriek / Klokgebouw (Strijp S), in het midden het Veemgebouw (r) met daar direct naast De Hoge (Witte) Rug. Meer bpven in beeld, in baksteen, het voormalige NatLab. Het gebied, met diverse Rijksmonumenten, wordt ontwikkeld voor wonen, werken en cultuur.

Strijp-S, former Philips area, was not accessible to the public, "the forbidden city". Bottom the Philitefabriek / Clock Building (Strijp S), in the middle of the Veemgebouw with the High (White) Back. Middle right NatLab (brick building). The area, with several national monuments, is designated for living, working and culture.

Capital Dock is one of the largest mixed-use developments ever built in Ireland and it was completed towards the end of 2018 but I was unable to gain access to the completed project until Easter weekend 2019. The compex spans 4.8 acres, providing more than 690,000sq ft of new mixed-use space, including offices, retail and family units, as well as more than 1.5 acres of public park space.

 

Global investment bank JP Morgan and jobs site Indeed have committed to occupy all of the available office space, and are preparing their new premises for occupancy in 2019.

 

Nearly 200 family units will be available to rent this year, with a dedicated on-site concierge, resident lounges, cinema, professional gym, business suites and a chef’s kitchen. There is also be a landscaped park and square open to the public.

 

The project will welcome new retailers in the coming year, including a restaurant and bar with a terrace, a gourmet grocer, and additional food and beverage offerings.

A vast new housing estate brings Didcot closer to Harwell.

 

I expect future development will close the gap between Didcot and Harwell and Harwell will eventually become part of Greater Didcot.

 

It grieves me to see the wonderful Oxfordshire countryside disappearing under acres of concrete.

Clearing the land for the new hotel

The building behind the hedge is the new Apex House, on the west side of High Road Tottenham. This was formerly public land. Haringey Council sold it to Grainger plc - a private developer - for five magic beans an unknown sum; with an unknown overage (share of profits) agreement.

 

When these new flats are completed, people able to afford them should get a bird's eye view of the rubbish dumping in surrounding streets.

Ten westen van het station, rechts, het nieuwe Paleiskwartier ('de nieuwe binnenstad') op de plaats van een voormalige bedrijventerrein (rechts). Het landelijk gebied buiten de stad is Het Bossche Broek (li) en polder Honderd Morgen (re).

Station Area, real estate and property development, luxury apartments. West of the station the new Paleiskwartier ('new downtown') at the site of a former industrial site.

A VOYAGE ROUND THE SHARD [19]

Looking south along the main axis of the More London development towards Tooley St. and London Bridge Station. The Shard doesn't quite close the vista unless you step a little to the right when you start to pick up some interesting reflections.
